How does not joining nairaland in 2006 relate to Galadima being disgraced or not? is Nairaland now the only place to get news on Nigerian sports?

Anyways, he was never disgraced, he was only sacrificed to face face then because Nigeria didn't qualify for the worldcup and because he said world cup ticket was not our birthright, we all knew why we didn't qualify for the worldcup in 2006 (major faults on the players). Apart from the utterance from Galadima (which is the blunt truth), what else can you hold in accountable for?
im saying you didnt know he was disgraced out of office because you were not in Nairaland then tongue tongue

and from what you just posted, its obvious you didnt know what happened

i should help you?

Awosika should have stopped when he hit the police car. Too many “enlightened” Nigerians do things that are not so smart. You wont hit a police car in the UK or US and wont stop. The Police man must be brought for trial. All other officers at the scene should me charged with conspiracy to murder.

Galadima was already on the board of the FA before he became chairman of the NFA.This is what I consider pre-requisite qualification to aspire to higher offices such as CAF,then FIFA exec committees, those neophytes you mentioned, dont have this experience yet

Membership/chairmanship of the NFA(or is it NFF now) would be a better suggestion for Odegbami and Obi
Galadima was disgraced from office 4 years ago and now Nigeria feels hes the next best thing since slice bread- coool!

Im sure one of the reasons hes been appointed is cos Adamu was instrumental to Galadimas exit from the glass house so they probably feel he shd take adamus job too

fingers crossed

PoliticsRe: Money Laundering - Will The Real Abubakar Atiku, Please Stand Up by tkb417(m): 9:12am On Nov 24, 2010
GEJ is a quiet man which isn't a sin except in Nigeria. If you look back on some of his actions, you will find heavy does of steel and backbone; the easiest to point out is the reorganisation of the army; many seasoned watchers likened it to a coup, but GEJ was totally quiet about it. If you ask me, that is what Nigeria needs, we need to move away from gra gra and start behaving like human beings. There is a vast difference between the way a typical Nigerian behaves and someone from any other country; we need to change! we need to embrace modern, civilised ways of getting things done
hehehehehe

Underrate GEJ at your own peril.Like him or otherwise, there's an inexplicable factor that has always worked and will still work in his favour. Most have always seen him as a gutless inny,to the extent that at a time(during his acting presidency),a member of FEC sent him a memo "warning" him not to dissolve the FEC that was constituted by Yar Adua, thereafter,no sooner had he become full president after Yar Adua's death than some so-called northern elders threaten that the nation would boil if he dared change the COAS,well we all know what has happened and not happened since then.

He once was chairman of the FA
He has experience in football administration, while the other two have been mere observers in football administration. It's an insult to even compare Segun Odegbami, and a bigger insult to compare Mitchel Obi with Galadima in the area of football administration

Those two are practically neophytes who need to be weaned first before they can then proceed to understudy well renowned sports administrators at that level to s cut their teeth
ill start from the scratch

where was Galadima b4 he became the NFA chairman?

what experience did he have?

Oneya and the other peeps that have been ruling the glass house. Segun Odegbami has not been able to rule the glass house because of the way the position has been politicized not because he doesnt have the requisite knowledge of football admin

and oh yeah, Segun is more of a footie technocrat that Galadima and he has investments in football. He didnt stumble of football

Perhaps, you are more in tune with beer palour news, otherwise you would have learnt how Jennifer Atiku fled the US for Dubai after hurriedly selling off their $1.7milla Potomac mansion and of course, you would have learnt how Atiku's every financial dealing is being tracked by the eagle eyes of the FBI. Above all, you would have learnt that has Atiku become a top of the agenda item for the US govt with senate probes hanging around his neck.

The FBI is waiting for the slightest opportunity to lay its long arms around Atiku. Imagine the man winning the elections, only for him to be arrested by the FBI on an airport runway, despite being the president of Nigeria. The Noriega treatment! huh

No way!

PoliticsRe: Money Laundering - Will The Real Abubakar Atiku, Please Stand Up by tkb417(m): 8:33am On Nov 24, 2010
I think Blazay is right here
Given the choice between GEJ and Atiku, Atiku all the way.

Atiku looks more presidential, more dogged, and more detribalized.

Knowing full well that Nigerian politicians do not have  original ideas, and many can barely express themselves without the aid of a speech writer, individually, there is no difference between the two.

The question here is who is more likely to stand up to the "cabal" running the show? It is obvious that Atiku somewhat has a mind of his own, unlike GEJ.
I like GEJ, but Atiku is better for the country.
Gbam!!!

i started by supporting  GEJ but the way the man is handling Henry Okah and those Militants shows he might be swept away when the wind start blowing. I dont want Atiku, i want Ribadu or Buhari but if we cannot get those, then maybe Atiku should win

i want an  action man abeg and from what im seeing, Atiku is not a product of 'chance' and with all obstacles, he seem to be able to hold his own.

kudos to him

BusinessRe: Which Country Should Be classified with BRIC? Nigeria Or South Africa? by tkb417(m): 5:02pm On Nov 23, 2010
The members of BRIC might be emerging super powers but the underlying indicators that triggered the coining of the group would not favour SA and i think the inclusion of SA would make a mincemeat of the whole idea

brilliant and sustainable growing economy arent the only indices in forming BRIC or how come we dont have the Asian tigers in there

seriously, Nigeria should be considered ahead of SA if not for our deplorable infrastructures

be that as it may, if we have a solid govt in Nigeria for just 8 years, i dont think SA would be near Nigeria cos the potentials far outweigh whatever can come from SA

One of those iconic threads. A real mind bender. IMHO, 1. Any decision taken for gain without a control of the outcome is a gamble. Be it stocks, currencies, comodities, soccer matches, options, bingo, horse races, oil exploration or other activities that interface with nature.

Now if we believe gambling is a thoughtless exercise how would you compare me a novice who has lost a lot in the Nigerian stock and mutual funds market because I knew nothing. Am I a gambler or not. Now how do you compare me with those folks I know who know the premiership in and out that they win regularly or study advanced charts and can predict where the dollar, gold, pork bellies or platinum will be next week, or have such sharp intuition they will floor you in bridge, poker time after time.

Where is the line between skill, knowledge, effort and luck in all human endeavour and gain and where does gambling fit in.

For goodness sake am I gambling on MTN, Philips, Nissan, Aero, Dstv, IBTC/Stanbic, etc. How much of them do I/can I know before I try them for gain.

Over to you guys.

RA has some very bad advisers. I blame everything on that fooooool Peter Kenyon who blew a big hole in RAs pocket whilst nodding his head like he is an authority on football.
Kenyon is one of the bad products of football. . .

i wish i can slap the living daylight outta him

nyways, its not all doom yet with RA still around. maybe someone need to draft a long term strategy for the club cos i know RA wont be here till eternity

The club has got to be self sustaining or else, yawa looms in the long term
