OBAGADAFFI:Very likely. They already own over N9 billion of investment properties as at last year end and this made up about 7% of their total assets. The 51% of UPDC they bought will almost double that figure "notionally" by end of 2020. |

currentprice:Okay. EPS dropped about 9% from 190k to 173k. They maintained their 25 kobo dividend. |
Mcy56:Absolutely @bolded. Access bank wont be able to resist dropping it. From 25k to anything between 15k to 20k. I still expect GTB and Zenith to stick to what they paid last year. |
http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/31355_STANBIC_IBTC__HOLDINGS_PLC-_QUARTER_2_-_FINANCIAL_STAT.pdf Interim dividend of 40k. Down from N1 in 2019 even though profit after tax & EPS increased. COVID 19 matters. I know most of the accounts will be released this week..... |
http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/Audited%20Financial%20Statement%20-%20Year%20%20Ending%20March%202020-min.pdf http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/Unaudited%20Financial%20Statements%20for%20the%20First%20Quarter%20ended%2030th%20June%202020.pdf Looks like Good ol' is about to come back to life. Very testy market and industry segment to reluanch into but then there is no perfect time. I wish them all the best. Entrepreneurs make the economy move forward. Pages 5 onwards of the annual account are informative. |
DUNKA:No Info on UPDC. Custodian appears to be a decent company but "I" will not pay more than N4.43 for it. |
emmanuelewumi:I believe so. They hold a lot of liquid assets. Besides its a borrowers market right now. |

sky2891:Yes...that's what the presentation from the company suggests. |
ukay2:Sense man...you want to buy more at lower prices. It wont happen ![]() There won't be any meaningful drop in share prices they way i see it for now. I believe worst case scenarios have been priced in. .....or it may well be the case of information trailing share price instead of vice versa as we were led to believe about "perfect markets". Take Guinness as case study. |
Mpeace:I believe most of them will release their results this week. |
dipoolowoo:That's the first 5.1% of 51%. The balance of 45%+ will be done later. Probably when Custodian turns some assets to cash to pay for it.

mk3jax:Interesting..... Whenever you see unusual activities in the market, just move to the side and watch. If you see a frog jumping across the road in the morning, it is either pursuing something or something is pursuing it. Nevertheless, the brewery industry is worth taking another look at to see how it will fare in the next 2 to 3 years... |
frank33:My take is that this will not provide the much needed liquidity in the market. For it to make an impact, the CBN will need to flood that market with dollars at the rate they are offering. If they have elected to sell only on two days of the work week, it may indicate they have limited supplies for the BDC. They are still owing banks from early July for bids won. I understand the World Bank is yet to approve the $1.5 billion the country applied for cos of reasons we all know. Depreciation is inevitable and everybody knows this by now. Its a supply and demand relationship. I am yet to see any country with the following features that has a healthy productive economy : FOREX rate control, commodity based earnings, limited export potential. Let me not even bring in corruption, rent based activities etc to the equation yet. Anybody that has seen such a country should please school me. |
Update for Insurance company aficionados. https://cashmoneyfocus.com/recapitalizing-the-nigerian-insurance-industry-front-runners-and-hopefuls-part-2/ |
Chibuking81:Use tested and trusted companies. Consumer protection laws in their domicile of operations should address all your concerns. Just be sure all the information you provide when opening accounts are genuine and verifiable. If they ask for information or requirement you don't have, dont use a proxy. just move on to another company. As usual when they are doing due diligence on you, you too be doing due diligence on them. |
Oga Agba, I sight you. I hail o. ![]() |
STNWAUME:There is a season for everything. Those in the different US equity markets should be watching closely for change in direction of price movement. FAANG shares may still push up the indexes they are traded on some more. For other individual stocks, small caps etc. its been 10 good years..... ZOOM and others in the "call app" industry still have some months to go but with the number of similar app products approaching launch pad, it wont last too long. |
ositadima1:I don't know about that. I read it and i am not a subscriber. Besides most of these sites have a number of free articles per month so perhaps you have exhausted your quota. |
https://www.ft.com/content/b0873571-b4f4-4c9e-aa18-318cb7589e7f Any domestic outlook on dividend payments? This week or next will tell as banks roll out interim dividend announcements. I think the interim will remain same. The changes may come in the final dividends. |
talk2me2:I can recollect receiving about twice. |

lancee:Be patient...the way i see it Zenith will get to N18.50 or thereabout and then progress to 19.80 - 20.00. Hopefully within the remaining part of 2020. For it to move materially beyond that price, "My Thesis" is that it will take a major event, maybe unifying of exchange rates and devaluation to see it take-off like a rocket before settling at a higher price level. If that catalyst does not come, Zenith has a character which will not change materially. |
https://cashmoneyfocus.com/verod-capital-consolidating-in-insurance-and-pension-fund-administration-sectors/ These guys are consolidating. I hope they get the PFA right. Many insurers are abandoning that sector. |
Godlylifeoneart:These woes will like run into 2022 for the brewers. This is where deep pocket matters. At the end of it all, i expect the 3 players will survive with different degrees of bruises. |

TLAX:http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/31163_CUSTODIAN_INVESTMENT_PLC-CUSTODIAN_INVESTMENT_PLC_SIGN.pdf When you sign a binding agreement you should tell us the purchase consideration...at the least. Anyway, for UACN faithfuls this should not be a surprise to you because I had mentioned in an earlier post that the company does not have cash and will basically be selling assets. Don't expect any special dividends o. If there was going to be any Blakeney LLP would not have bailed out if its attractive. Let me go back and check all those fancy calculations people were churning out earlier. Maybe there is still redemption. A more detailed commentary loading..... |
