@OP before you go to the bank tomorrow kindly read the publication below. You'd think that finding more than £10,000 in cash, in a bag next to a cash machine, and returning it to its rightful owners would be applauded. But for one man, all that it resulted in was a £300 fine. Robert Adams, 54, saw the bag full of money next to a cash machine with Chase Bank's logo on the side. Instead of taking advantage, the resident of Arlington Heights, Illinois, returned it to the bank in question. But he made a mistake, by giving police false information about exactly where he found it. Adams found the large sum of cash on the night of 6 June while using an ATM inside the shop Walgreens. He had planned to meet a woman for a date, but when she failed to show decided to buy a drink before heading home. Instead of handing in the money in the area where he found it, Adams took it to a police station nearer to his home where he said he felt more comfortable speaking to local police in familiar surroundings. "I didn't want to go back into Walgreens, so I thought I would drive to the Chase Bank near my house and return it," he told the Southtown Star in the US. But thinking it would result in fewer questions, Adams told the bank — and the police — that he'd found the money near his home not in the shop. The error cost him $500 (£312). Of course, leaving that sort of cash just lying about is a concern for any bank. So they, the security firm that lost the money and the police started to look into it. What they discovered was that Adams had lied about where he found the cash. He was captured on CCTV picking up the money, leaving the shop and getting into his car, and then charged with lying in a police report — resulting in his fine. "I accept the fine. I'm very sorry about this whole thing," Adams told the Chicago Tribune. He was never offered a reward for returning the cash. http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/Man-fined-returning-10-000-yahoofinanceuk-3328382006.html as you have kept the money for 4 months, you will have to pay the accrued interest for the period. |

iykak47:the question is not in the veracity of the case, but what would you do if you found NGN 26M in your account? |
go fireman church and give him 10%. that way u are protected. while you are contemplating put the money in fixed deposit as the bank advised and report to the bank when you are man enough to do so. the source of the money could be one of two errors. wrong deposit and typo error: xtra zeroes. if its wrong deposit, there is problem they will find you. if its typo, I dont know, the ball is in your court decide |

The audience that are not literate CANNOT read pidgin inglis. becos they cannot read and write. The fact that you can speak a language does not mean you can read and write in the language. But I might consider buying if it has good reviews. |
Godluck with that. |
blackgucci:Abi o. the simplest of task must have either religious or tribal association. |
Osama would have begged for his life if he had the opportunity, Gaddaffi also did but was killed despite of that. Lesson: no one wants to die, even the one going to heaven dont want to die to get there. Steve Jobs, 2005 stanford university. |
what is the basis is of comparison? And who told you Ghaddafi did not beg his captors, ? He was hiding in a drainage. it tells one thing that no matter how strong a man appears, he doesn't want to die. Most of the post on this thread were made on the basis of tribal hate, why must it be so. compare Colonel Ojukwu's guerrilla war and col. Gaddaffi's battle of survival, not compare igbo wt yoruba and Libyans. this is the reason why it will be difficult for Nigeria to go forward as a (Multi-cultural/ tribal) nation, we cannot think or work together even to solve the easiest task, I think the questions should be, how successful is a leader without successor? Gaddaffi tried for his nation but failed to think of thursday Oct 20, 2011. A day when all ended for him. In 42 years he had not succeeded in raising another Gaddaffi even among his children. what if he had died a sudden death, the chaos now would have happened even without a fight, because he never planned for the future, that is the problems of most African leaders, they forget death. The likes of Paul Biya, Robert Mugabe, have alesson to learn if truly they are fighting for their people and not their selfish ambition (to die in power). Gaddafi went down and took the whole of Libya with him, today Libya 'will' never be the same. That in my opinion is not the best he could do if he had the good of Libyans at heart. |
what is the basis of comparison? General Diya was a career General (I doudt if he won or even fought any battle), he wasn't fighting for anyone when he was arrested. and who told you Ghaddafi did not beg his captors, ? Gaddafi went down with Libya in his palm. I hope they are able to rebuild the ruins, |
