Romance › Re: Should Prostitution Be Legalized In Nigeria? (My Opinion) by tobechi74:
I see your point. It is a lifestyle.

Marriage is an individual choice and not a collective one. The government has no business regulating how I use my genital.  It is mine and mine alone.  I decide who I choose to get married to . I can decide to share it with a single person or a married person.  It is  my freedom to choose to be a celibate or be married.   While married, I decide with my partner whether to make it open relationship or monogamy.

Marriage is not for everyone. There are people who are happier single. I mean those who are do introverted that they cannot tolerate a very long time without feeling drained. There are people who prefer long distance relationship with few visits and frequent absence rather than continued presence.  those whose high attention sexual urge cannot be satisfied by any one individual. There are others who dislike the boredom of sticking to one  partner scares the hell out of them. Variety is the spice of life. The fun of experimenting with various sizes and  types thrills them. There are yet another group whose need for independence and freedom makes them dislike the idea of  consulting with another before making decision.  There is another group that  love to be in motion. They wake up one morning and decide to relocate to another state only to explore another culture the next year. Traveling is their hobby and getting married with kids hinders that . Settling down is like a death trap. Flowing water is cleaner. Stagnant water attracts mosquitoes and other microorganism.

Human needs are various. the concept of getting married does not fit into their ideal future. They are better off single or in an open relationship. imposing  monogamy marriage on them will choke them. Their partner and children would suffer . Cheating is bound to occur. The fact that cheating still exist means we should question the effectiveness of monogamy and possibility of open marriage.

Investment experts would advice you never to put all your eggs in one basket to mitigate against risk. Economic  expert suggest diversification and not depending on only crude oil. Why don’t we  Apply  the same analogy to our own emotional life.   Risk is mitigated when we stop expecting one person to be our confident, sexual satisfier ,friend, mother of children etc. Can we consider open marriage and celibacy as alternative to monogamy

If he adds his name, the agodfatherism accusation would be established

The last gubertonoral election in Edo state was seen as a fight against fatherism in Nigeria. The country seems to have a group of godfather’s who controls the activities in the country.. Late minister of information and National Orientation Prof Dora Acquinly refered to them as the Northern Cabals. The group decides who wins election and who wins is made a president. Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan disagreement with Cabal contributed to his removal from office

Each region has its own Godfather. Ex governor of lagos state Bola Tinibu is said to be Godfather in of lagos and Osun state. The people obey him . When he sneezes, the people catches cold. Whomever he annoites win the election. He controls the state assembly, state tax system, transport system and Agberos . Whoever disagrees with Tinibu disagrees is an enemy of the state.

Chief Saraki was a strong political heavy weight in Kwara state. His son Dr Bukola Saraki benefited from his dad dynasty. His daughter was a senator. His fall out with the APC government marked the begining of the downfall of the Saraki Dynasty. The people were tired of one family dictatorship. They wanted a new face.

Among the Igbos, It is difficult single out one Godfather. In 2003, the west thought chief Odimegwu Ojukwu would be the sole presidential candidate from the south east. They were wrong. The then Abia state Governor refused to withdraw his presidential aspiration for the great warlord. The Igbos were not surprised.

Former Governor Rochas Okorocha attempted to install his son in law- Mr Uche Nwosu as next governor fell flat.Uche Nwosu failed to win the party governorship ticket. The mass did not want that either.

What makes God fatherism easier in other region and difficult in Igbo land. ? Chief Odimegwu Ojukwu when asked in August 1991 if he was the igbo leader. He responded

The Igbos cannot be led.Every Igbo man leads himself,I am the spokesman of the Igbos.

The igbo man choose someone to speak on their behalf. His words reflect that of the people. The people tell him what to say.He does not tell the people what to do. The moment he begins to say words contrarily to that of the people, his position as a speaker is threatened. Rochas Okorocha knew little about this for he grew up in the North. His defection to APC and his romance with the North without first seeking the opinion of the people was his first undoing.. Imposing his in- law on his people was the second undoing.

A typical Igbo man is not one to be told what to do. Everything Igbo man thinks for himself and takes decision based on his own thoughts. The task of thinking for himself should never be transfered to another. No one tells an Igbo man whom to vote. A Yoruba man may vote a candidate because his father or political Godfather ask him to. The region values respect for elders highly.. A northerner may vote a candidate because his king or religious leaders told him to. The region values intra- group cooperation and obedience to authority. An Igbo chief openly disagrees with the king during cabinet meeting. Sons disagree with their father during kinsmen gathering. Igbo value the self. To convince an Igbo man to vote a candidate, you need to convince him of the benefit of such act to him. It should make him better than his present state for an Igbo man loves to develop. Only then can his mind be convinced to vote the candidate.

This mindset is not without it’s short comming. Since Igbos are self- centered, they are most likely to go to any continent of the world and make it. The self centeredness promotes self- desire over communal want. Igbos tend to be more competitive rather than cooperative. It is not unheard of to hear three brothers fight till death over a piece of land. It is difficult to convince an Igbo man to step down for another the way key northerners stepped down for Buhari. The UBA brothers in anambra state are key examples of brothers belonging to different political party. One group of Igbos want restructuring. The other group wants Igbo presidency and the third group prefers an independent nation. Of the last group, a fraction support legal ,peaceful ,way of MASSOB, another prefers the use of abusivee way of IPOB. There are other Biafra movement groups .

Consensus Candidate is very difficult to.achieve. Igbos find i easier to unite to vote out an opposition than to agree on a consensus candidate. majority decide to vote a candidate, minority will go for another. It was easier for all the northern heavy weight to drop their presidential aspiration and support President Buhari against Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. I doubt the Igbos are capable of doing the same. Not less than five candidate would emerge come 2023. This would divide the vote that goes to the region.. Since politics is a game of number, other region may capitalize on this. They will unite and support one from their region.

RuudVanNisteroy:
Oduduwa Republic is a tool used by power monger for 2023 to make APC and PDP cede power to the South West due to his selfish ambition. The power monger has seen the North will not hand over power to the SW after all the ass kissing he did.

The power monger is now sponsoring mushroom groups to advocate for Oduduwa Republic to use as leverage for the 2023 presidential ticket.

Nigerians should be concerned about electing visionaries in other parties apart from PDP,APC and APGA.

There are few teachers who have touched us in numerous ways.

Dr O.N Oguoma while teaching us a course on factors affecting location of an industry asked one of us to list three factors he would consider before he would get married to a woman. He listed

(1) beauty( 2) Intelligence (3) character.

Then he asked him to allocate points to each factor in descending order of importance. His response was

(1)Character: 3 points (2) Intelligence: 2(3) beauty : 1

Then Prof asked two ladies of opposite features . He asked the guy to score each girls according to his perceived performance in each factor . His response was similar to this

Girl A : Intelligence :8 . Character: 7 . Beauty :5

Girl B Intelligence:5 character : 9. Beauty :3.

Next, each score was multiplied by the rating and the sum for each girl was taken. The girl with the highest score wins.

It has been over seven years since I attended this class but I still recall it like it was yesterday. Youth are so obsessed with relationship issues . He used our interest to teach us. One can apply the same method in making life decision. For instance, while applying for masters degree program, choosing between two jobs, choosing between various investment plans, residential areas etc .

As a teacher, I often use soccer to explain certain phenomenon to my students. It has been over seven years ago since I received this teaching. Prof must have retired by now. we may never cross paths in life but his teaching method remains forever in my heart.

Education › Re: World Teachers Day 2020 - How Do You Relate With Your Teacher Now? by tobechi74:
One teacher I have lost contact with is Mr Malachi who transformed from an Olodo student that hate mathematics to one that love the subject. How? He hardly Flogs. If we fail to do the assignment, those who scored highest would be tasked to flog those who failed to attempt it at all. I always did my assignment as I saw it as an opportunity to flog some students that have used to Bully me.

Mr Malachi had a sence of humor.

CHILDREN are forced to go to school against their wish. whereas no one reminds them to play . What makes children dread the classroom while anticipating to go to the field. The answer lies in the emotion evoked. The child is happy playing and sad studying. When he is not sad, he is bored of sitting in class repeatedly, angry at receiving punnishnent for making noise.

The duty of the teacher is to impact knowledge in the classroom. Children love to play. Effective teachers can make the student learn while playing. One way to do this is to spice humor to teaching process.

Humor strengthen teacher student relationship.A teacher who laughs at his own mistake teaches student not to dread making mistake and learns not to be ashamed of been laughed at in class.Child learns that no one is above mistake.

Teacher can begin the class with a joke or amusing thought. whenever he sences boredom among student,he may take a commercial break ,divert to a non related issue such as riddle and jokes and come back to teaching.

Teacher should be cautious not to spend more time on humor at the expense of the actual topic as this could transform class into a chaos.

TEN WAYS Soccer IS TURNING INTO RELIGION

1

Players performing regular repeated behaviour called rituals on the pitch. ; Chelsea loanee zouma bowshis head to the ground as soon as he enrers the pitch. Kaka doing sign of the cross the moment he scores a agoal.fans sing songs and hymn on match day.

2

Both are taken serious ; people don’t go to church to have fun.viewers don’t go to viewing center just to be entertained.

3 Both are institutions meant to promote teamwork, love etc.Feeling of togetherness among similar group.; going to stadium is like going to church.

4Each has its constitution and structured pattern which is used to achieve a goal. They are bodieswith rules and punishment for deterrence. Referees, pastors and imam are thereto remind members of rules and ensure they are enforced.

5Competition is key: in Nigeria, there is a struggle over which religion is the dominant one same way fans believe their club is the best. Followers are kin on gathering more believers for God as clubs want to buy the best talent to play for them.

6Conversion to opposite side is frowned at; Liverpool fans burnt down Fernando torress jersey when he signed for opponents Chelsea. Jehovah witness withdrewlove for their members who threaten to 7live the fold. Muslims who wish to convert to Christianity are disowned or beaten to death

8Both lead to violence ; fans fight each other during matches on stadium and viewing centers. Muslim-christian fight occur frequently in kaduna

9Both have their symbol of faith. Trophies, gloves ,balls bible and jersey.srrkers of kingdom, loyal devotees, shrine-hall of fame.

10Both worship the living as well as dead heroes. Lionel messi is adored by barca fans as daddy adeboye is. They are treated more than celebrities. Make a negative remark about cronaldo or oyedepo and watch his faithful attack you as they have done to freeze. Statues are built to honour them. Statue of st Thomas aquinass and statue of maradonna

Ironically, both collect money from their faithfull football clubs sell jersey as most churches sell handkerchiel, olive oil etc. some churches collect gatefee from members in form of tithe offering or donation the wa faithfuls pay to watch match.

She has returned to dust today
It could be our turn some day
Death is inevitable
Yet we avoid the topic like some plague

When children play outside

And mother calls them to come inside

The laughter of playing in the yard

Suddenly turns into tears
No,we do not want to come inside

We want to play forever and ever

Then  things go from bad to worse

Mother comes with a cane to flog

Father inflict his punishment

So the joy of playing together

Simply by believing it cannot stop

Turns into great misery for the kids

We are just grown up children

We believe our relationship will last forever

Our hobbies are always going to bring happiness

But they did not

We know one day, everything will come to an end

Our parents will die

Our friends will leave us

But when it happens we are shattered

Like children, so much like children
