Congrats! adebonje: Me: Goodmorning VO: Goodmorning VO: what are u going to do in the us Me: To study bachelor's degree computer and information system at missouri state. university VO:Why missouri state university
*My brain scrambles for about 6-8 seconds ( cos I forgot the first point, then I remembered)
Me: MSU boasts of a unique educational philosopy which stresses on practical learning and extensive academic research work
MSU has received the highest level of accreditations for their programs, all the programmes in the college of business administration including computer and information system has been fully certified by the association of advanced collegiate school of business
Missouri state university has an upto date curriculum supported and inspired by IBM which I believe will enhance my understanding to achieve and compete.
VO cuts in
VO: How many schools did u apply to Me: 4, I applied to MSU,UGA,Howard Uni and Morgan state uni VO: How many schools accepted you Me: I saw admission for ,MSU,UGA and howard uni, since I already had 3, I didn't check for that of Morgan state uni VO: I know Howard uni to be a very good school, why did u choose MSU ahead of Howard Me: I said of all the 3 unis I got their admission, the cost of attending missouri state is the lowest. Then also a point earlier about the level of accreditation they have received for their programs VO: but howard university is a very good school to and they will also have receive all those accreditations for their programs. Me: the cost of attending howard university is over $50,000/ year . I am not the only child, I had to put it inline with what my dad can afford comfortably VO: u said the cost of attending MSU is cheaper I cut in there, Me: Sorry I didn't say cheaper, I said lesser Then he cuts in. VO: Who is sponsoring you education, Me: My dad VO: what does he do Me: blah blah blah VO: Do you work Me: yes VO: where do you work Me:told him VO: what's ur job description Me: told him, then I continued, I have taken a study leave so as to pursue my bsc in CIS at MSU due to lack promotion oppurtunities which the mininum requirement is a HND and all I have now is a ND. Then he was taking his hand toward where the paper was.. First was on blue, I was scared then VO: Pick up your visa at Victoria Island..errm.. No .. Tryin to pronounce isolo, I just stepped in to pronounce it for him Then gave me the white paper..
He didn't ask me for any documents during the interview
For the fact that the guy had not given about 15 people before me visa today he just passed all my he just passed my passport I-20, and the form they put pic on back to me..
I was so filled with joy that I didn't check it out until I got outside and saw that I was still with my passport..
Then I went to the waiting area lay my complaint. They filled one form for me, then I went inside, told me to go to window 10, on get to window 10, the lady collected my documents, asked me to wait, she went to confirm if I was trully issued a visa. If I was not given a white form my mistake. She came back and told me to pick up at my pick up location next week
Thank you very much for ur support and advice |

They will surely return the money but not the full amount, some schools only return 80% of the paid amount! domex007: S̶̲̥̅Ơ̴̴͡ do you advice I go ahead and pay the fees? God forbid, if denied after payment of fees, will they return ♍Ɣ money? No I guess.. |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by Tochium: 3:05pm On Jan 04, 2014 |
Payment of school fees will not guarantee you visa. It is advisible not to pay until you get your visa. My school told my not to pay the initial required deposit until i receive my visa. Best of luck! domex007: Hello House, ♍Ɣ school says I can pay half ♍Ɣ school fees which is $8,000 before the visa interview. ♍Ɣ boss thinks it shows seriousness but I told I'm not to pay tthe money yet until I get the visa. ♍Ɣ boss says it shows seriousness when I tender the receipt of payment of school fees by ♍Ɣ sponsor(company). But won't the embassy think something else? Like, the applicant is too despirate? Please friends, do you know anybody that has done such thing before they went for interview? And will it increase the chances of getting the visa?? Already paid half his school fees. ♍Ɣ school sent their account details to ♍Ɣ mail.. What should I do? |

Sorry about ur denial, pls share ur interview transcript. bimbola85: I want to pls beg evry1 nt to be angry with d long story I'm abt to write bt I bliv it will do more help 2 pple if dey get d full story. Thanks
I was @ d Lagos Embassy yesterday nd was denied. I just want to correct some things about the reply I got 4rm my post last week when I wrote abt my I-20 stating d length of my Master's programme as 4month. This goes to Imperiouxx,Amefrica nd every1 on here. Pls house if you not sure or didn't knw abt somtin,it's better U write U don't knw if U can't jst ignore it. I was already considering deferring my admission to Fall 2014 based on what people on here say when I posted that I'm offered Provisional Admission for my M.S Criminal Justice nd my I-20 stated 4months as my study length. Dey made me bliv dat's a mistake 4rm d sch nd I was already loosing d confident in me until I decided to go online nd check about Provisional Admission's I-20 nd was surprised to found out dat, dat's hw dey normally issued it. I'm not saying d wrong advised gave 2 me by pple like Amefrica made me fumbled @ my interview bt it did made me wasted so much time pondering on d advice while am supposed to be getting ready for the interview. Based on my interview,I will like to tell pple preparing to go for the interview to be confident nd speak slowly as much as possible. I was looking @ d V.O @ d 2nd Cubicle expecting her to flash my number wen d 3rd one does unexpectedly nd lost d confidence in me nd my voice started shaking 4rm d 1st question nd culdn't get my voice to normal until like 3rd question nd culd hardly hear what she's sayin because she talked very fast nd also I've lost my confidence,I watch American movies a lot nd hears what dey say easily bt I culdn't hear dis rapper V.O clearly nd answered some questions wrongly jst because of no confidence in me anymor. The way U answered ur 1st question is very important nd dis will give U all d confidence U need. I was able to get my voice back to normal bt unable to get my confidence back nd was jst speaking fast to d extent dat d V.O asked me twice to repeat wot I said nd also wen d V.O asked me if I took SAT I 4got to answer dat it wasn't required by d sch I applied to nd I was only asked to take TOEFL which I did, instead I jst answered No which didn't make her to ask abt my TOEFL score. She didn't even ask me any question abt d 4months written on my I-20 nd I later received an email from SJU telling me dat Provisional Admission is always issued like dat because I've already emailed dem since I posted on here abt d 4months on my I-20. I've started the process to defer till fall 2014.
Pple goin for d interview 2day or anytime after 2day,there is no big deal in d interview to be sincere with U. U only need 2 things 1....Pray to God for a better talking V.O nd nt one dat rap while talking like mine did 2day. because I can hear what other V.Os were sayin while sitting down waiting 4 my own interview. I didn't 4lo dis winch V.O @ Cubicle no 3 while sitting down nd I pay dearly 4 it. 2....Pray to God dat no matter what,I shall never loose d confidence in me nd dnt let d V.O rush U. May God help U all. |

Hello All,
It's been a while i visited NL, actually i have gotten over my visa denial and have made up my mind to remain regular as i used to just assist people who may need help. Again, i have deferred my admission to fall semester to allow me sufficient time to repackage myself to the embassy. My school will resume for fall 2014 on the 22nd of August so i may start applying for visa interview from 22nd of April.
@Kunlebal and Biggy, i thank God for granting you journey mercies, remain focused and never forget why you are there and where you come from. I wish you guys all the best, enjoy your stay in America.
@Amefrica, i can see the good job you are doing on here, keep it up. May God grant you all your heart desires this New year!
Happy New Year to All members on here. |

I then took classes for both GRE and toefl. Since then, I've been working with my dad at his hospital Vo:wow! ! You wrote gre Me:yes Vo:can I see the proof Me:passed her both results Vo: your dad has an hospital Me:yes Vo:what is his specialty Me:he's a gynaecologist but thr hospital has lots of departments ranging from the pediatrics to the dental to the o&g to the laboratory and even the mortuary Vo:pass me ur dads documents Me:passed her bank statement and letter of sponsorship Vo:congratulations, your visa have been approved. Me:now with my sawgs, I hope the visa pickup is not going to be in the evening Vo:not at all Me:enjoy the rest of your day ma
Now my conclusion, we should all I understand that only God gives visas. Onces God is on your side, you'll get it. Secondly, ones confidence goes a long way. Speak audibly and confidently. With these two things, your visa is sure. Trust me there is no big deal in it. I return all the Glory to God. I love u all |

sevule: @ Tochium I felt bad when you said you were denied the visa cos you are a regular here. Don't let it get to you as some of the Ogas of this forum were also denied visas at their initial attempts. I think you should change the school to another university and work on the question 'Why this particular school?' I don't think the VO would be convinced by the bolded response. The reason you choose a school shouldn't be because it is racially diverse or cos they have a cordiaql relationship with their students cos most universities in the US relate well with their students. Emphasize the first bit of your answer which is the school's academic excellence and try and specifically relate it to the school's academic excellence in your chosen course. Please don't be tempted to give a generic answer, be as specific as possible. Do not be discouraged bro and go get that visa!! Thanks for ur advice, actually this is the 2nd denial i am getting, the first time was an I-20 from a comm. col. i then changed to UNI OF BRIDGEPORT. Regarding the answer i gave about why i chose UB, I gave two reasons, because university of Bridgeport has a great record of academic excellence in Health science, also the staff-student relationship at the University of Bridgeport is very cordial especially for international students, that is why the school is ranked by US News and world report as the 11th most racially diverse national university in USA All the same i appreciate ur advice and concern. God bless u! |

Amefrica: That chinko guy is known to be a saddist.
Last time I checked, that school is being operated be mamon worshippers or so. I cant really say if this led to ur denial, I personally think that school is low ranked.
Since you said, he packed ur docs when u mentioned that school, i think u should change ur school to a public school. Goodluck next time! Amefrica, What's that your school name? is it a public school? wanna apply for fall immediately. I so much believe that i was denied because of the school, i saw it all. |

It was terrible today at the US Consulate General Lagos, i was denied today. The Chinese guy at window 1 did not even interview me up-to 1 minute and he gave me my documents and passport back.
Here is the transcript
VO: Hi me: goodmorning sir VO:Why are you travelling to USA me:to pursue my undergraduate degree in Health Sci VO: Which school? me: University of Bridgeport (He packed my documents as if he has made up his mind on my case) VO: why this school? me: because university of Bridgeport has a great record of academic excellence in Health science, also the staff-student relationship at the University of Bridgeport is very cordial especially for international students, that is why the school is ranked by US News and world report as the 11th most racially diverse national university in USA VO: who is paying your tuition me: my father is paying my tuition VO: What would you do after you degree? me: After my degree, i will return to Nigeria to do my mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps, after that i shall go back to my work place to resume work. VO:Where do you work? me:ministry of health in my state VO: What government? me: Imo State Government vo: Sorry, i cannot approve your visa at moment, the blue paper explains why. me: Thank you, I smiled and left the counter.
I was looking so legit and sincere in my black suit. I tried many times to make direct eye contact with the VO but he was not concentrated through the interview. My interview did not last upto 1 minute. |

scobbyy2k3: Your sevis fee is only valid for a particular course of study. So tell me how I am wrong We are here to help one another, it is better we keep mute to questions we do not know the answers instead of giving out false answers. I transferred my sevis fee last week and it was approved. My initial school was a comm. college and course was aviation mgt, i got admission to a university (health sci) as i am typing this message i have my sevis fee transferred to my new sevis id. sevis fee is valid for one year and is transferable irrespective of the course. |
