In Lake Chad I am so sorry to say. We don't know anything like Multi National Joint Task Force. It's either Chadians or Nigeria Army. We do not see Cameroonians or Nigeriens in Lake Chad .

Chadians hang their flags on all vehicles they use in Lake Chad without inscribing any damn MNJTF on it. All their Gun trucks that moved around Lake Chad had Chadians flags. If they had stayed longer I'm sure kids in Lake Chad will be confused between Nigeria flag and that of Chadians.

Go and ask anyone about Chadians and Nigerian Soldiers activities in Monguno.

Go and ask anyone about the Monguno attack. That if Chadians were around what would have happened and wait for the replies of the locals there wink

I don't wanna say much on this self wink
still d same chadian soilders dat suffered Heavy casualties for 7hours at the hands of ISWAP...

CAS CHARGES PERSONNEL TO SUSTAIN RELATIVE PEACE IN NIGER DELTA AS HE COMMISSIONS WELFARE PROJECTS IN CALABAR

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has charged personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to sustain the relative peace currently being experienced in the Niger Delta. The CAS stated this today, 30 June 2020, while commissioning 2 blocks of 10 x one bedroom Single Officers’ accommodation at the 305 Special Mobility Group (305 SMG), Calabar, Cross River State. Speaking further, the CAS, who was represented by the NAF Chief of Logistics, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Yakubu, commended the contributions of the personnel of 305 SMG towards the maintenance of peace in the South South Region. He however charged them not to rest on their oars as other forms of threats still exist. “You must remain vigilant and continue to dedicate yourselves to your assigned duties,” he said.

The CAS further noted that the current national security imperatives, particularly the ongoing intensive air operations to deal with bandits and terrorists in the North West and North East of the Country, respectively, had made it difficult to ensure that 305 SMG has adequate platforms to effectively execute its assigned role of securing parts of the southern axis of the Nigerian airspace. He however noted that efforts had been intensified to provide additional helicopters that would be deployed to Calabar for the conduct of missions within the 305 SMG’s Area of Responsibility. In the interim, the CAS said, 115 Special Operations Group would continue to extend air support to the Unit with the platforms deployed in Port Harcourt, as recently done when an EC-135 helicopter was deployed to support Operation DELTA SAFE and the Nigerian Navy during Operation SAFETY CHECK. He again enjoined the personnel not to relent in their efforts towards ensuring the safety and security of all law-abiding citizens.

While highlighting the NAF’s continuing efforts to address the welfare needs of her personnel and ensure the provision of befitting accommodation across all Units, the CAS noted that the newly commissioned 2 blocks of 10 x one bedroom Single Officers’ Quarters would go a long way in alleviating personnel’s accommodation challenges in the Unit. This, he said, was in addition to other soon-to-be commissioned blocks of accommodation currently under construction in the Unit. While promising to initiate more accommodation projects for personnel of the Unit, the CAS assured that all efforts towards accommodation sufficiency would continue to be vigorously pursued until all personnel are suitably accommodated.

The CAS expressed his profound gratitude to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, and the National Assembly for their continuous support in providing the NAF with the needed resources, platforms and equipment to enable it to be more effective and efficient in the employment of air power. Speaking further, Air Marshal Abubakar assured that the Service would continue to reciprocate by remaining disciplined, loyal and executing its statutory duties with the highest levels of professionalism. The CAS equally expressed gratitude to the Cross River State Government for its support to the NAF and other security agencies in curtailing criminality within the State.

Delivering his welcome remarks earlier,, the Commander 305 SMG, Group Captain Abraham Sule, had expressed appreciation to the CAS for the numerous projects executed in the Unit. He noted that since the last visit by the CAS in November 2019 many projects had been initiated and completed, while others were ongoing. The Commander noted also that the projects have been a huge source of motivation to him and the entire personnel of the Unit, whom, he pledged, would continue to give their full commitment to the effective performance of their assigned tasks.

Also present at the event were the Permanent Secretary Special Services Cross River State; Representatives of the Commander Operation DELTA SAFE, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command and Air Officer Commanding Mobility Command; as well as the NAF Director of Works along with other serving and retired senior military officers.

Proforce Nigeria nets Deep Blue Project onshore component contract
June 30, 2020 Ekene Lionel Nigeria
Nigerian-based Proforce Defence has been awarded a contract to supply light armoured vehicles to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, (NIMASA) under it’s ongoing Deep Blue Project.

Proforce Defence has already delivered since May this year, the first batch of 16 armoured personnel carrier to the Nigerian government, these will help the Nigerian government beef up security on the Niger Delta region, and will be used to patrol volatile areas in the same region.

The contract, according to NIMASA is handled by Israeli firm HLSI-Blue Octagon, and will see the acquisition of several land, sea and aerial based platforms including two special mission naval vessels manufactured by Shipyard de Hoop, 17 fast interceptor boats delivered by De Haas Maasluis, two Leonardo AW 109 helicopters and two Cessna Citation Jet CJ3 type ISR (intelligence, reconnaissance, and surveillance) aircraft that will be equipped by Bird Aerosystems.

Proforce Defence is Nigeria’s leading developer of armoured vehicles, small patrol boats as well as overhauling of assorted armoured vehicles. One of the company’s successful product is the Ara Mine resistant and ambush protected vehicle. Proforce also produces the PF2 light armoured vehicle, and the improvised armoured combat vehicle (a reinforced Hilux truck).

Hopefully the pilot will not be captured and used for murderous bloody deranged PR.

Air interdiction missions being conducted by the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI under the subsidiary Operation WUTAN DAJI have yielded more positive results with the destruction of 2 camps and a cave hideout of members of the armed bandits’ gang led by Hassan Tagwaye in Doumborou Forest, Zamfara State. The air strikes, which also resulted in the neutralization of some key armed bandits’ leaders as well as several of their fighters, were executed on 23 June 2020, after series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions led to the identification of the camps and a cave where the bandits store their weapons as well as hide to evade attacks.
Consequently, the Air Component dispatched an enhanced force package of fighter jets and helicopter gunships to attack the location. At the first camp, some bandits, who had assembled for a meeting near one of the huts, were neutralized by the attack aircraft. At the second camp, a suspected high-value bandits’ leader along with some weapon-bearing fighters were seen in the vicinity of some huts. The attack aircraft engaged the target structures, scoring accurate hits and taking out the huts along with their occupants. The NAF jets also later recorded direct hits on the suspected bunker, from where some of the bandits were seen emerging, completely destroying it. Human Intelligence reports later confirmed that Hassan Tagwaye and his twin brother Hussain along with several other bandits were neutralized in the air strikes, while a few escaped with injuries.
As a matter of security concern, people in the general area are advised to report those with sudden and suspicious injuries to the security forces. This is to ensure that the escapees are mopped up.
While commending the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI for their professionalism, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has urged them to remain resolute in the conduct of air strikes whilst continuing to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations in order to eradicate all armed bandits; thus accomplishing the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to restore normalcy in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country.

As part of efforts to rid the North West and North Central States of the Country of armed bandits and other criminal elements, the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI has launched a subsidiary air interdiction Operation, codenamed WUTAN DAJI. The Operation, which was preceded by the massive deployment of additional air assets and ground support equipment by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to Katsina, is aimed at taking out armed bandits’ locations that were painstakingly selected, based on impeccable Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports as well as series of Surveillance missions, in order to significantly degrade the armed bandits’ fighting capability before it could be brought to bear against friendly forces or innocent civilians.
Since the operation began on 20 June 2020, 10 locations have been attacked and scores of armed bandits neutralized, as confirmed by HUMINT reports. Some of the significant air strikes include those executed at Dutsen Asolo and Birnin Kogo areas of Katsina State as well as at Dogo Gede’s Camp in the Kwayanbana Forest area of Zamfara State.
At Dutsen Asolo, NAF jets dispatched by the Air Component attacked the cave/hideout of the bandits, destroying the main entry point and neutralizing some fighters. Some surviving bandits, who were tracked escaping from the cave area were taken out in follow-on strikes. Also, on 21 June 2020, at the bandits’ enclave in the Kwayanbana Forest, an attack helicopter took out one of the bandits’ logistics huts, which was seen engulfed in flames. Similarly, at Birnin Kogo on 22 June 2020, some armed bandits, who fled their dwellings in the centre of the camp to nearby bushes on hearing the sound of the attack aircraft, were neutralized as the NAF fighter jets hit them at their hiding positions.
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who was in Katsina to oversee the Operation, has commended the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI for their professionalism. He has urged them to remain resolute in the conduct of air strikes whilst continuing to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations in order to eradicate all armed bandits; thus accomplishing the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to restore normalcy in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country.
