Hello everyone, please I need a clarification on an issue as i'm a little confused .I want to put in a letter of explanation for my proof of funds, should I upload it under the proof of funds uploads or the Optional document section?
I just feel like it would be easier to comprehend if it's uploaded together with my proof of funds documents rather than separately in the optional document section

please can someone advise on the right thing to do
it can be the first page of your merged POF documentation

I agree with this. It actually more common than we think. I know a family, the parents didn't get married until their 4th child was born.
I have distant relatives who had kids before they got married, lived together for years, did almost everything that married couples do. Its just frowned upon because of our religious climate.
it's very common, but lack of legality makes it complicated. What happens if one of them dies? Will bank agree to treat the other as next of kin?

Please forge ahead with your application. A couple i know living together since 2016 applied as common-law LESBIAN partners. AOR was Sept 4. VO is Ottawa. Additional requirement for RPRF was received yesterday meaning better progress has been made on the application. So long as you have documents to back it up and be sure to download the common law declaration form, fill and have it notarized.
hmmm. interesting context for long-term roommates to consider. you don't need proof that the relationship is public because its illegal.

Better than lie-lie assylum. You can even write loe requesting for speedy processing, since your life has been in danger since you notarised the declaration form. You don't trust the notary not to spill on you.

Thank you all, I appreciate it. I'll make enquiries on how to go about the registry thing ASAP. Like play like play, guyman go marry this year sha grin
Consider all pros and cons and do what's on your mind, not just acting based on fear of Accra.
I know someone who got sent to Accra because they got married.

Can the fact that you suddenly got married after ITA even though you've been partners for years attract extra scrutiny?

You're actually common law partners according to IRCC, and marriage in your case will be the 'packaging'. Which would you prefer to defend during the type of interview our sister shared with us? Reality is always easier to defend than packaging.

Though I find it difficult to understand common law relationships in Nigeria sha. They are legal in France for instance, as common law partners you have basically same rights as married. You even get official status of being in a 'pact' from the country. If most other foreign countries have such legalities, will be difficult for a CL rel from Nig to fly since our own law doesn't recognise it.

This Accra of a place self. Extra scrutiny from VO is not supposed to be a death sentence but We're seriously unlucky with the snail speed of our own lvo... Getting sent to Accra and getting selected for security screening nobody knows which one is better anymore.

Yes, I requested that my card limit be raised. To do this, I went to an Ecobank branch and I filled a form.
I used it to pay over 2000CAD.

Activate your ecobank MasterCard for international transaction. Ecobank CAD to NGN rate is among the lowest, if not the Lowest. I also heard Zenith and Stanbic have good rates too. First bank rate no be here o. From personal experience.
Last time I spoke with ecobank customer care their monthly limit was $200. That can only pay for ECA.

Next cheapest after ECO is Sterling, and they have normal limits. GTB is next.

Not really.
For frequent travelers to the US, especially if you live there for over 3 months at a stretch, there's this breeze that makes you feel at home. You will no longer see yourself as a visitor anymore. Lol
OK o.

The only place I feel at home outside Nigeria is over the hot sahara... When the blinding sunrays enter into the plane and you need to shut the blind... Crossing into our darling hot weather on my way back from a cold, foreign country.

Mehn that was more harrowing than my interview. They stopped me at immigration, asked how I was going to survive on the small money in my bank account and I was like I’ll do my friends hair for money. Who knew that was illegal? LOL. Anyway, they put me in detention room, mat on the floor, no communication devices, I couldn’t even flush my own toilet, had to bang on the door for many minutes for the guard to flush it from outside. 12 hours later they put me on a plane back to Lagos. Stopover in South Africa, they put me in Hilton gave me so much money for food and then the next day, I landed in Lagos. I planned to fight it later cos they handled it very badly and I think they were trying to placate me with the luxury treats but it’s fine, I’ll soon become a Canadian so who cares about America? Also I’d been going to America every year for like 15 years at this point so I was like this is how you treat your loyal customers? Issorai. The guy said I hadn’t committed a crime yet but he was punishing me for my intent to commit a crime that’s why he gave me the lowest ban of 5 years. I was like thanks?
Hardcore stuff mehn. You were really naive on the hair stuff sha considering you had been visiting for 15 years. Even me wey never go US Embassy before know say na illegal something.

about my interview.
Wow. That was an intense experience. Really sorry you had to go through such and thanks for sharing. Did the interviewer introduce herself or give her job title? Interested in knowing if it was done by a diplomat or a local support staff.

Interesting your thought that they won't have capacity to issue PPRs until January.

You can buy cartons on jumia
Jumia is far. Stroll down to the big grocery store close to your house and make friends there. Even better if you have a particular customer you've been shopping with (shop or market). They'll be more than happy to dash or sell you cartons.

Except you particularly don't want used/grocery cartons sha. Cc newmum0615

Hope this makes some sense. The shop is tucked in the middle of roll of shops. On the other hand, once you get to wuse market, ask for the guy that sells winter wears. You may also try this number: 08035041688 - Azubuike (got it from this thread)

Also. Usman - 08130987851
As for him, you would need to speak Hausa.
Thanks for this, very detailed. I felt like making the map more detailed to include all my favorite nooks cheesy

That's NOC B. Put in 2016, the year of your graduation.
But it states there that you should put the year you became licensed to practice in Canada for NOCs starting with 633?

As far as i know, no, it is not enough pre-ITA. After you get ITA, you can modify the work history section to include a 1-year experience (say, NYSC for example) and move the rest of your work history under the Personal history section so you would not have to provide references from all your places of employment.
if one year isn't enough to give eligibility pre-ITA, you won't pass post-AOR eligibility check with it.

let's hope to keep getting tips from this thread angry angry angry angry huh huh huh huh, the rate at which people "abscond " is alarming,no landing gists, no heads up, e.t.c just plain silence. it's really discouraging compared to the express entry thread
Lol. It's just proof that the hustle is real in Canada. Most of the seniors here are those who landed ages ago and are already established.

EE thread is full of middle class Nigerians with established jobs, lives and routines. People who just land are still establishing routines you can't blame them if they lose their addiction to nairaland.

Morning people...congrats to all PPR clinchers...pls are therw instances where a visa ofc approves an app and another visa ofc triggers PPR mail? I put a call across to cic yday and spoke with an agent who told me my app has been approved in ottawa and that they hv alerted Accra to let me know when/and the details for sending my passports cos i am outside canada...anybody encountered such situation?July 19th AOR,ip2 Nov 8th
Loads of June applications are stuck in this stage, I guess they've started doing same to some July. 1P1 is completed in Ottawa, IP2 is triggered and carried out in Sydney. File is approved in Sydney and sent to an LVO. Your PPR mail is now sent to you at pace, capacity and discretion of your LVO.

IP2 means sent to Sydney
Ghost update means file approved, probably transferred to LVO.
It's a new trend so we're still trying to understand it.

Go and check out your July AOR group on canadavisa forum to find out if more people are in same situation.

Before ITA, I had 2 work experiences. A past employment of about 5 years ago which I used and included reference letter. My application is based on this NOC.

I also have another past experience of 2yrs and 6months which I put in my personal history. This one is more recent and has bank evidence of salary paid but I couldn't use it cos I needed 3 years to get higher points.
Now, my current employment will be 6 months in April 2019 and salary is also via bank.
Then relax na. Withdraw application ke. Who told you the new application will not go to Accra again just because you withdrew this one (issa suspicious reason for withdrawing imo).

Accra cannot delay you for more than two years. There is no guarantee your new application will be approved in less than six months.

Stop being so terrified of Accra. Your file is in order and you'll get your ppr at the appointed time. Keep keeping faith in your God (and if you don't have one yet now's a good time to get one smiley)

I know it's easy for me to advise as I'm not in your shoes, but calm down. It may tarry but it will certainly come. Kpele!
