Finally dived into the pool. I pray ITA falls on me today. While filling out the application, I was asked about my family size but I wasn't asked to fill info about my child, just my spouse. Hope this is normal?

Congrats. It's normal.

Guess who got her PPR? Izzz meeeeeeee. God has freed me from Accra visa office!!! Story loading tomorrow after I drop passport.

Awww. Big congrats! Who born Accra? What a wonderful pre-Christmas present!

It tickles me the way I get happy with some PPR announcements... How can the fulfilled dream of an 'apparent stranger' give me so much joy?

I pray that this is just the first of many announcements from Accra this week. Open the floodgates!

This is exactly the issue I'm facing with WES. it seems WES is bent on frustrating people. The information they put there is only transcript which I sent to them, unfortunately they changed the story when my transcript got to them. See the screenshot. I don't understand what they meant by 'diploma supplement' when in fact I sent my transcript to them TWICE. To think that I could have sent my confirmation of degree conferral at the time but never did because they didn't request for it. SMH for WES. Anyone planning to start evaluation, by all means, avoid WES, their shakara is way too much, they ain't the only evaluation agency. Shioor

Simply send WES a copy of your certificate. Shikena.

my question goes thus: In 2016 i created an account with WES where i sent my BSC transcript for evaluation. i wanted to use it for admission purpose in the USA.
i still have my document with them but now that i want to use the report for Immigration purpose, i sent mails to them but no response yet.

successhungry:
Hi...I had a closely related issue this time last year. If you can still log into your WES US account-i mean if you can recall either the password or username, send a mail to WES US to transfer your documents to WES CANADA for IMMIGRATION purpose; exercise patience as it may take a while before you get a response. You would be informed when your file has been transferred to WES CANADA from WES US.However,I do not know if you would still need to send your waec result as I did mine last year. DONT BE IN A HURRY;I WAS AND I SPENT ALMOST A YEAR TO COMPLETE WES EVALUATION.

Interesting analysis.

I disagree with the bolded though. The reason September was slow and MEP since then is now average 4wks and not 2wks was the reduction of ITA expiration date from 3 months after ITA to 2 months.

September was the month when both June and July ITAs expired. That's 4 rounds of draws for a total of 15,000 ITAs.

I think CIC is comfortable with 4wks before MEP. If they become dissatisfied with the time-frame, it is easier to increase the submission deadline back to 90 days than to reduce the service delivery standard of 6 months processing for 80% of applications (huge political implications) or to reduce number of ITAs issued (immigration targets will make that difficult).

After all it was just in November 2016 that the deadline was originally raised from 60 days to 90 days.

I have no strong views on the analysis. But it does seem like they're struggling to keep up with that six month benchmark. Processing times are waaaaay longer this year in comparison with last year. Has capacity increased in line with the increased targets? The six months is an automatically calculated average.

%age statuses by month as per Immitracker. Based on my past experience on reaction to this post will start with following disclaimer points cheesycheesy

Yes the immitracker data may not be accurate. As we all know not everyone updates the data there. But I think it is okay. In practical world decisions are taken everyday based on a sample of a data set.

If you feel - “Oh I could list N reasons the data is not the right sample" … well yeah I know that BUT unless someone can give us better data, this is all we have. So let’s make peace with it.

Immitracker ignores inactive cases. And yes it does impact %ages. However, I think immitracker is correct in ignoring inactive cases.
I stand corrected on above. On 9th October there were a lot of cases which went inactive and hence were messing up the %age trends. I was not tracking active cases on regular basis as the numbers didn't change much. But to keep consistency I have now used active case number as on 21st Sep (as that is the only week I had captured number of active cases)

Having said all of above, I think this data can still be used to see trends which are useful. The %ages may not be accurate but overall movement is definitely indicative of progress

And lastly, if you disagree just ignore!

Analysis for last week
June had one of the best weeks in recent times. I know it doesn't feel that way based on other cases pending at Sydney. But, I think the flood we saw for CEC Inland on Monday may be a major contributor.

July is as slow as June ... and my guess is July may see relatively more delays compared to June in case June is given more preference in December over July cases. In terms of %ages there is hardly any difference between June and July at same time period.

August is a winner!! August guys are lucky. Look at their %age completion at end of 3rd month. June was at 18% and July was at 19%. August is at 20%!! And if you look at Immitracker August has done 20% at a much higher base compared to June and July.
One possible reason is probably because November was a month of 5 weeks vs 4 weeks that we had before. So that helps with higher percentage.
Let's see how they progress now onwards.

September is another proof of real slowdown .. At end of 2 months June was 14%, July was 11% and August was 11%. Compared to this September is at just 3%. September also saw MEP move from about 12/14 days post AOR to ~28 days post AOR. So a little slowdown was expected. But this is too much.

My guess is sooner or later CIC will have to update their website and change that 6 month number. It will get more and more difficult to justify that number in 2019.

Pls can anyone recommend a good but affordable immigration consultant in Canada?

Zutlin:

I would recommend Mark Holthe - founder Express Entry Law Facebook Group. He's experienced, compassionate and straight-forward. He wouldn't accept payment unless he's confident of a positive outcome - reason why a consultation is the first step.

I have consulted with him twice and his patience gets me all the time (expecially when Internet connection begins to misbehave). After my last consultation with him, due to some issue with my card, I couldn't make payment for over a week but he was so nice and understanding.

Hi Guys...

I don't know if its just me.... I have noticed that more than 75% of the questions asked in the past 20 pages, if not more, are very basic questions that could have been resolved by going to page 1.

As much as i don't want to sound like a kill-joy, I think the experienced ones should spend more time referring people to page 1. I can bet you that if you answer a question now... be ready to answer it again in the next 3 to 5 pages. Yes!! its that bad now.

Please, and please, let's not make this thread move too fast. As a matter of fact, one thing i'm certain is that... when a person goes back to page one in search of a particular information, there is a 90% probability that the person would find other information that would be useful subsequently in the journey.

Infact, I still go back to page 1, despite having spent quite a while on this thread... and I still get very relvant information... even from as far back as 2016.

Please, let's help ourselves. Like the seniors would say... this is a life-long/ Life-changing decision, which you need tp find out things yourself. Reduce the level of reliance on what people tell you, as they could make mistakes. In no time, you would be a body of knowledge to reckon with on this subject matter.

Thanks.

God bless us! God bless Naija!! God bless Canada, our new home!!

At this rate I don't think it's worth anyone's time to build and maintain a page one on the next part of the thread. Let everyone just ask their questions and let everyone just keep responding. What's the essence of a Page one if the same FAQs are still being asked and answered? Meanwhile so much work goes into building and updating the page.

Those of us who read page one can always come back to this part 6 to read it.

A company needed advertised 15 positions with the same job description and person specification. I fit into all these positions and I want to apply.

Can I use the same CV and Cover letter for the positions because they are all the same, only the locations where the post holder is needed is different

If I were in your shoes I'd use same letter and CV. One of my headliners though would be that I am willing to relocate.

For apprenticeship, Grand Prairie has been booming for over a year. It wasn't seriously affected by the oil glut. GP is where vacancies have been popping up for oil/trades job in Alberta. Outside Calgary and Brooks, Southern Alberta is more of a cow/agriculture town.

For healthcare jobs, smaller cities would be anything outside Calgary, Edmonton and maybe Red Deer. Lethbridge is starting to get competitive too. I can't really recommend, but what people usually do is to move to big city at first, then apply for jobs in small cities. For example, you could move to Calgary, then a vacancy would become available in Brooks or you could be in Edmonton and a vacancy would become available in White Court or Peace River. Jobs in smaller cities or town would receive less applicant or none at all, compared to big centres where there would be 100's of applicants per vacancy.

Thank you. Plan is to start from Calgary.

Health sector is good if you move away from the big cities. Not saying you can't get an health sector job in the big city, you would just need to be ready to face strong competition and slightly lower wage.

What smaller towns in South Alberta can you recommend? Not just healthcare jobs but good prospect to get apprenticeship sponsorship. Thanks.
