Thanks @rainazoe and @Tojued.
I have made up my mind to do Lufthansa with the feedbacks. However I still got some choose:
1. Layover in FRA for 3 hrs.50 and use Air Canada (smaller) to Toronto OR
2. Layover in FRA for 7 hrs and use same Lufthansa (big plabne) to Toronto. Can 7hrs layover be a nightmare with kids

Consider I have 2 hyper actives (toddler and.baby) . I need d comfort..

I think FRA has excellent facilities including children playgrounds and arcades. 7 hours means you don't have to dash between terminals or be nervous about long queues. Then get your three year old to play and run around, use toilet, snack etc. Generally get him exhausted so he falls asleep immediately you get on the next flight. Three hours extra layover time is not such a big deal to me.

The prices are for all o. Just that with Lufthansa, we will get transferred to Air Canada for the 8 hr flight from Frankfurt to Toronto and I learnt its a smaller aircraft

Okay, now I see your concerns. You might have to get the exact flight number, then Google it up to see what planes are used on that route and comfort etc.

Anyway someone shared lufthansa landing gist couple of days back and had no complaint. She even said food service was endless. Read back the most recent landing gists to contact the person directly.

Pls how did you get such a good deal from lufthansa? Are they doing a promo?

I AM OFFICIALLY A MEMBER OF THE LIVING IN CANADA THREAD , YIPEE!!

EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN EAVESDROPPING BEFORE ITA..HAHAHA grin

PPR STORY GIVEN IN ZA OZZA THREAD.

We plan to land in February, We are trying to decide : 667K - EGYPT AIR or 874K- LUFTHANSA (is the extra 200k on Lufthansa worth it in terms of general fight experience). Its I, hubby, 3 year old and 6 months old hyper active boys.

I need help on what to carry along asides winter wear: bedsheet? quantity of dresses? food stuff? we have allowance of 23kg X7

Are these prices for all four of you? If yes please grab the lufthansa package. Trust me the price difference is waaay worth it. Especially shorter flight time. No compare between uber and brt o! N'a price difference dey make us explain say some BRT also get AC.

I would advice against doing this, my reason being Canada has a rule that u must have been physically living in Canada for 270 days or so for you not to loose ur permanent residency.

So. If u apply and get ppr and ur course doesn't finish till 4 months after you soft land, chances are you will. Loose your ppr.

Unless if u plan on switching from the US uni to a Canada one then soft landing is a good idea.

He only has to be in Canada for 2 out of 5 years in order not to lose status. Cumulatively.

Dear House,

Please, I have a challenge.

There is an omission of one letter in my name on my degree certificate. Somehow, WES didn't see it. I am still trying to rectify this but the issue now is that I will need to upload my certificate as proof-of-studies in my application and this might be detected.

Should I add a letter of explanation? An option would be to wait till the issue is rectified so I can submit a clean one but I am afraid that will cause another issue if CIC realizes I submitted a different document to WES.

Please, advice!

Warm Regards.

One and same person affidavit/ LOE about you and even WES not realising the error previously?

I also did not want to respond anymore as respectfully, it appears we have deep divergences on this topic but with this your last example, I can only say a big wow! I don't even know where to pick it up from so I will just leave it at the fact that I am wowed at your decision and the reason for it, especially the bolded.

With respect to the armed robber example you gave, I will also give you a real life example. I have an ex-colleague who's house was attacked in Lekki. Her husband scaled the fence and left his wife (with only a sheet around her), a pre-teen daughter and a baby boy with the armed robbers so go figure.

You're even going too far by using your friend as example. You that you're the one handling drill in your house, you're even likely to be the better shot grin

I have only expressed two views here...
1. My wife should submit as that is what my bible tells me(Let me state that submission is not slavery if you can't put this together then am sorry ).
2. I will love my wife and remain faithful to her only.

Having stated this, can you let me know which of the two views you find in your own very words, troubling, very rigid, narrow concept ?

To address the other points you have raised, they are mostly emotional and are probably a carry over of stories, experiences, and impressions you have formed cause I really can't imagine that the two points above will generate such a response. It is true that a lot of dysfunctional marriages abound in Nigeria but the fact 99% of men are unfaithful or beat their wives doesn't mean everybody does for Christ sakes.

Maximum five years into your marriage, you will understand the conversations we've all had today. Whether you're in Canada or Nigeria.

He has been ASP since and I don't think he has issues with nairaland fam who still call him inspector. The problem is with those at the gate etc who could bite off your head for disrespecting their oga if you all after him using wrong title.

to each its own, but I believe it comes down to how much you love your spouse. one will be surprise at the level one will go to make one's spouse happy if there is love.

with love; respect, submission, willingness to do anything comes in. You don't clamor for respect, submission nor do you need to make a roaster for chores. the need to keep your spouse happy makes you do all these without being asked.

This flexibility is what our religions are forgetting to preach. They keep dictating generic standards. It is the most essential element for happiness in any relationship.

I'm so shocked with this argument this morning, this 21st century and someone is saying man should be head blah blah, I would really like to know if these men are married, if they are, how do their wives feel

Their wives feel the same way hence they married them. Chances are they are even happy.
The question is, will they still be happy once environment changes from Nigeria to Canada?Refer back to what I said about our ladies not being truly empowered.
Even the cheating and battery that guitarlife agrees is taboo, the average Nigerian woman is UNABLE to walk away from.
Me personally I have only one recommendation : every couple with what works for them.

Partnerships have no head. An institution headed by two partners both can be equal with equal responsibilities, shares and votes.

And to set all records straight, maternal is a MAN lol. Maternal sorry if I messed with any fun you were having by keeping that info out of this particular gist.

@guitarlife, apologies and no strong opinions on my part, but I find your views on mariage troubling. Simply because they are based on so many pre-expectations!
You seem to have formed this very rigid, narrow concept of marriage. Have you been married before?
If you haven't, then I can tell you confidently that a key recipe to a happy marriage is building your own formular as a couple, not resting on any societal or religious expectations. And this formular is one you will only discover when you have an open mind, are willing to be flexible, and wake up everyday thinking of how to make your better half happy.
Expecting the so called submission is a very strong expectation! What exactly is submission self? Biko, give me example lol.
Pre-Expectations kill marital happiness. The mentors helping you build those expectations while you're single, you don't know the real shii going on in their home.
And I do agree that divorce rates are low in Nigeria because women have nowhere to go plus boxed in mindset. It is unfortunate but true that a good number of our ladies are not truly empowered. Marriage is sacred true but be sure 90% of unhappy mariages here aren't sticking together just because of their religious convictions. After all 90% of Nigerians only claim their religion in name and not in action. Abi the only area we suddenly know how to obey God is not to divorce?
In the same West where you're condemning lack of submission, couples have survived decades together!
Not trying to argue or disregard/disrespect or change your view point, just sharing knowledge I personally had to learn the hard way.
All the best and wishing you tons of happiness ahead.

I'm not expert o but just a thought...is it not possible to submit the current passport for stamping while he gets a new passport? Just as how one would have a valid visa in an expired passport alongside a new passport and still be able to travel

If I'm not mistaken your copr expires either one year from your medicals, or at expiry of passport.

hi people, for those struggling with ielts, first of all its not your fault, our education system is really bad, the english i was taught in secondary school is definitely not what is been spoken in the outside world.

one very useful tip i can give anyone is to watch a bit more foreign drama movies or series, and not just watch, try to follow the story and understand what each cast or character is saying, get subtitles also, as this will help a great deal with listening as well as some parts of reading.

Another advice is please guys try and simulate a testing environment as much as you can, get a quiet room, a bench and a chair, and also time yourself, try and do these at least twice a week, that way you train ur mind to adapt to the testing conditions quicker, i have been writing PBT and CBT for a long time as an IT person, and i realized practicing questions in a simulated testing environment really does help.

and finally this might sound stupid, but trust me it helps, please read the instructions carefully, i have realized from experience that taking time out to read instructions calms the mind, before u commence any section take 2-3 min to relax ur mind, read the instructions, breathe, trust me when i say those 3 mins u take out to calm urself will save you alot more time than if you just rust rush into the questions from the get go.

Just a quick top-up: the ielts test environment (at least in sheraton abuja) is NOT a quiet one. Simulate your test environment with noise eg TV background and crying children. Even if fellow test takers are quiet the ielts examiners just never stop talking.

My advice, go for a Remark of your Writing, you may probably be upgraded to a 6.5 which will be a CLB 8 or 7 which will be CLB 9. As long as it's writing exam your chances of mark upgrade is high.

The good news is that Nepal allows submission by courier. But you'll probably need to raise a bank draft in their local currency.
