mosky47: I think the laminating myth only works in Nigeria.
Is there anyone here who has applied for a job or admission outside Nigeria where they asked to see your original certificate? Most times your transcript confirms where you attended school, and not your certificate. As for Embassies, I don't know anyone who has been denied a visa for presenting a laminated certificate. (Someone here may know sha).
It's only in Nigeria that if you have a Federal job, you would be asked to go to Abuja twice a year to verify your credentials (that they have seen before). It's only in Nigeria that requirement for post graduate post-completion clearance would include original waec certificate. We love complicating things. But I think the laminated thing is true worldwide sha, it invalidates the certificate. Just that there is hardly ever any need to show your certificate in the first place. Your visa won't sha be rejected cos I think certificate is not a visa requirement in the first place. |

ottawasenators: Aunty/Uncle,
Why u sef go laminate Educational certificate?
You and the person that agreed to laminate them for you deserved to be flogged.
As per not being accepted in canny, i do not know. I guess someone will come up with some good news for you. cheers!!! But it's an automatic something in Nigeria na. Collect certificate and laminate immediately... The mobile business centre with laminating machine will even be right outside the certificate collection room... |

Guitarlife: Thanks and out goes my guitar....... Just remembered... there's virtually no place to keep your stuff in a hostel (shared room). Except you get a private room with only one or two beds, there's usually just a locker big enough for a small suitcase.
Maybe contact the hostel before hand and find out if they have a baggage room or extra storage space. Cos I assume as a relocating PR you'll have at least one large suitcase. Or make other arrangements for your stuff.
NB: you can't just leave your stuff lying around in a shared room, you lock them up in the locker to discourage theft. Think school hostel, then imagine that occupants are rootless travelers instead of rooted students... person fit just carry your bag middle of night waka comot.
PS: why do you have guitars that are 'delicately used'? You just dey buy them to fulfill your nairaland monker? |

MissAsa: Hello all
I hope i am in the right forum. My case is a very unique one and i currently do not know what to do. I would appreciate it if someone can help me in this forum.
I got my ITA in DEC 2017, submitted my application in March 2018. Since my submission, the cic has asked for several forms and documents which i have sent to them before the deadline. However, they asked for some documents to be submitted by July 14th, due to an error on my part, i uploaded the documents on the 9th but didnt sign, so it wasn't submitted. I realised my error and submitted on July 29th. I wrote to them via a webform explaining this and they replied saying that they have acknowledged the receipt of the documents but didnt state if the delay in submission will be an issue. Currently, my 6 months bracket for the PR application has been exceeded and my background check has not started. I called the canadian office and was told that my file was moved to the London office. I contacted the london office but i am yet to get a reply. I called the canadian office again and they are currently saying that my file is in Ukraine. I am confused, please can anyone on this forum help me with a suggestion or a contact that can investigate my case. All the adr you received, your file was probably still in central office. They completed your R10 and forwarded case to London "workload distribution". It arrived London, and no action was carried out. Retransferred to Kiev, workload redistribution. Please order GCMS notes for the full story. PPR might come before the gcms sha. There's probably nothing wrong with your file and your case is definitely not unique. There are loads of other March AORs who received no adr at all yet haven't gotten PPR till now. It's just a London something. Last last, they'll pick up your file one day, you'll spend a couple of hours on IP2, and PPR go show. |

mcstan18: Statutorily, that can't be. It's possible however that some shady things might have happened to facilitate that. Nothing shady needed to have been done. It's possible it was possible before, it's possible someone can do it now and be lucky. But you're correct. Statutorily it's not possible. As it is self nowadays it seems using PF at all automatically triggers 'review required' for POF. Make everybody do wetin sweet dem, wisdom profits to direct and life na per head.
And happy birthday in arrears. Your canny dream will surely end in praise. |

BarbaraCharles: Could the discrepancies in the name on my application and the name on my certificate have caused this delay? No. The final report will simply note that there was a name discrepancy, there's no cause for delay here.BarbaraCharles: I also intend to maintain the name as it is on the new international passport (surname change only), how do I inform WES about this? Contact them through their web formBarbaraCharles: And is it possible to change it in my WES application, to avoid this kind of issue arising in future? Request for this through their web form, attach your passport data page and affidavit of name change. I don't know if it's possible but no harm in trying.BarbaraCharles: Because as it stands, I seem to have three different names and it can be confusing to whoever handles my documents. If WES refuses to make the change, then fall back on a one and same person affidavit for future. |

nnetayo: Don't know if I should be worried. AOR is August 17th. I've had two ADRs, one for September 14th (spouse's IELTS) and another September 17th( IMM5475) authorising that my spouse can check our application status on my behalf but yet to receive any update on Medicals and Biometrics. The ADRs have delayed your timeline. You'll probably move to med passed same time the last adr you sent changes to under review or not applicable. When you order GCMS notes, you'll see that your file was 'parked' while awaiting the additional documents. |

gbengaolu360: Hello house, my wife is the primary applicant but I plan to use my uncle as a relative living in Canada. I and my Uncle share the same surname. Is it allowed ? Your wife will gain adaptability points for your uncle under FSW eligibility. You would need to prove relationship, it's not a question of surname (e.g your birth certificate, his own, and your parents' own. Your own shows your parents name, his and your parents own show they have same parent. Then LOE or family tree for good measure if you like). But he won't give you guys the 15 mark CRS advantage that a sibling would. Please visit page one of this thread and follow as many links as you can. |

Obeetee: Dear all good evening.A silent reader and I thank you all for the posts which have been educative.I read the bizzare story of post PPR rejection and i have this question to ask... I started working in 2014... November 1st...Since then I had a one year working experience with a private hospital, one year experience with an NGO and 18 months plus experience with a teaching hospital.Conincendentally, while working for the NGO I had a temporary employment with a university as a lecturer II.i intend to claim points just for my experience with the private practice,NGO and teaching hospital and exclude the lecturing job which was a temporary offer.I hope this doesn't affect me.I intend to get reference letters for the job experiences I claim. Please advice.Than All activities in the last ten years should be in your personal history. |

wenks: @Newmum and all the senior apostles in the assembly...I caould not hold myself again o..lol.
So I submitted my PR application on Jul 31st( 1am naija time) which was still 30th July (Canada time). Even though it stated that biometric will be required as from Jul 31st, when I was paying my application fee, Biometric fee wasn't included so i just went on to pay like that.
I got AOR within 20mins of paying and waited. After waiting for 30days I got an update mail and checked my account only to see that it was only my UCI number that got updated. Up until now(47days and counting) no MEP, Biometric letter or any other update aside that initial UCI status update.
I am almost going gaga...loool..I need assurance o..anybori..sombori... Lol na Davido go fit give you that one o! On a more serious note calm down. I'm very sure if you check on immitracker you'll see that you're in line with the trend. If you've gotten UCI i believe it means your initial completeness check has been completed. |
