drcynthia: Hello everyone, pls can anyone be of help as regards settling in Manitoba or calgary , Accommodation, cost of living, Public transport and job availability, I am a medical doctor by profession, so also is my hubby....so as we write the exams we plan to work and live a low profile...PS family of five. Your replies would be appreciated....God bless you There's a lot of info on Calgary on this thread, but I'm sure someone will still step forward to provide you feedback. People in Manitoba hardly give any feedback. There's very little info on Winnipeg/Manitoba online (not only on this thread). My theory is that their fingers are frozen or they are too busy shoveling snow. They usually share info before arriving, then they share landing gist. After that they disappear. Or when they leave Manitoba for one reason or the other they become active again. You could do a search of the thread. But start from Page 113, GS put some links on life in Calgary and Winnipeg. |

Ifeoma77: It is MOST DEFINITELY NOT safe! You are not just looking at a refusal of your PR application, you are looking at a 5 years ban. Raise a CSE IMMEDIATELY and you might want to mention that the agent acted without/against your instructions. Then pray to God that it will be enough.
See ehn, if I'm to advise, I'll say withdraw that application now and do it over He hasn't applied yet. He meant that he lied in his us applications based on agent's advice... @classified010 when you are applying for your Canadian PR don't bother hiding your US refusals and the reasons for them, it shouldn't affect your application. First step in PR processing is file sharing with the US |

Obeetee: ECA on the corner..Will Soon get an ITA .Just wanted to find out something because I keep on getting conflicting advises. Started work as a medical doctor in 2014 in a private hospital.worked till October 31st when I left and worked with an NGO..The NGO job started November 2nd 2015.Along the line,in January I got a temporary employment with my state university as a lecturer, but never lectured for one day as the medical school was still seeking accreditation.Just to state that the NGO job was full time and I did clinical duties.i resigned from both jobs on March 31st 2017 even though work with the university was just meetings no lectures however I earned salaries from both the NGO and university.I currently work with a teaching hospital and during submission of my ITA I intend to leave out the university stuff out of my 10year history.i don't have strength to explain if they ask me why I held two jobs at the same time even though the university own was temporary.I also do not intend to claim points with the university as it doesn't fit the NOC of clinical duties I intend to claim points for.I just wanted to find out if it's ok.A couple have told me it is ok that people leave out some stuff and still get PPR.wanted to confirm with this group. Thanks ALL activities in the past ten years should be included in your personal history. Whether or not you're claiming points for them. Leave out anything at risk of your own sleepless nights. There's already enough anxiety post-AOR talk less of when you manipulate the information you submitted... You'll just be dreaming bad bad dream of misrepresentation every night. Besides misrepresentation is not limited to during the application process. We all saw story of the man who received misrep after PPR. |

Temas: Thanks bro. This one hard gidigan ooo.@Tojued @newmum0615@mcstan @ All other elders kindly wade in and help us oo. 25% of my pension will be part of thePOF( About 500k) In my opinion, If you can help it please avoid using your pension but please note that nobody that I know of has gotten 'insufficient funds' issue for using pension (although I don't know a lot of people ) However I feel like any day they can decide it's not liquid enough to meet their requirements. All it takes is one VO or policy adviser waking up on the wrong side of his bed. As it is my speculation recently is that using pf automatically triggers 'review required' for POF. Just a speculation sha. Hopefully the congregation can comment on this based on their gcms notes. |

ArcUgo: You guys can do your medicals before ITA but you have to wait for a biometrics instruction letter before that can be done and you will only receive that after your AOR and Medicals passed at least that has been the procedure so far. So you can't avoid travelling twice. I'm in the same boat as you guys. Presently in Lagos from PH with my family for Medicals. It sucks that we have to come back for biometrics but all join. Children under 14 are exempted from biometrics. |

doppler06: You can do medicals while waiting for ITA if you are a=very sure of ITA in the next draw cuz medicals has a validity of 1 year. For biometric, you must have to wait for a letter from IRCC to do it. The letter comes after AOR Please what is AOR? |

loodba: Hello everyone, trust you all are having a wonderful weekend
Well i am new here though been a silent reader. I have a little concern and i will be glad if someone here can advise
I am about to start my application. I havent done anything yet though. I intend to apply for PR dont know if this is the best option for someone like me who have a finance'e studing in canada (masters) and want me to come over. Though we intend to get marry next year
1.Is it better i apply as single then later include her on the application that we are married or i should start by indicating we are married.
2. I have a masters degree in nigeria, will be 30yrs this december and more than 4yrs work experience, will it be better for me to apply or my fiance'e who is currently running her masters in canada should be the primary applicate. Probably when she complete she can apply for both of us, hopefully she will have a work permit by then
3. It means i will have to wait for more than 2yrs and remember we are young couple and it will be very challenging being apart.
I really appreciate if anyone can advise us on this remember we are not married though we will next year and is it possible to do a court wedding without the other party present
Thank you Please read page one of this thread and follow as many links there as you can. You'll be able to answer all your questions afterwards. |

doppler06: Thank you Nairaland for all your assistance . The journey that started from Part 3 of this thread has been concluded in Part 5
IELTS: 3 Mar 18 LRSW 9988 WES: 17 Apr 18 Masters CRS: 481 ITA: 25 Apr 18 AOR: 29 May 18 MEP: 8 Jun 18 IP1: Same day as MEP IP2: 20 Sept 18 PPR: 25 Sept 18 (mail came in 1:34am Sept 26) AOR to PPR: 117 days (approx. 4 months) Passport transmitted: 26 Sept 18
Immediately I saw the PPR mail on 26th morning, I just called in sick at work. It was raining that day but submit passport I must…... Went back to the same work I called in sick to (but stayed on a different floor) and printed and filled all I needed to fill and made all the copies I needed to make.
On to the next phase…….. btw, who else is completely overwhelmed by the amount of info from that MAP document + the many FPPs that are reaching out. This 24 hours in a day is not long enough.
I wish everybody success in every phase they are at…..….. All the best Congratulations! at the emboldened, dud you're just a mafioso someborri. Just respond to all the FPPS already. SOme are flukes, they request response but won't read you're response, they'll just send pre typed answer. Some are real.... do and start the courses with those ones, prioritise those courses with fixed schedules/time limits. All the best to you too!!! |

ddymples: Hello people,
I thought that if you apply as married, you have lower points than if you apply as single/hubby non-accompanying.
Oya epp me torchlit this scenario o
Married (PA), 37, Masters, IELTS - 8.5,9,7,8(LRWS) Hubby - Masters, 7.5,8.5,7,7 CRS - 439
But if it is spouse unaccompanying, the score drops to 434. Is there something we are not getting right? pls assist.
Thank you. My thought is he's offering almost full points and you've lost the age advantage. In this instance your hubby is actually an asset and you two are stronger as a team. Let him retake ielts for 8777 so you guys can cross into 440. Don't know if you're doing anything wrong sha, the crs tool experts will soon arrive. |
