ilugunboy: I wish to thank the Admin and good moderators for allowing justice to be SUPREME on NAIRALAND.Finally he returns ![]() |
slimghost: When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser. Says a lot about your upbringing.Esteemed slim, you just took the words out of my mouth, no matter how you clean up a pig, it must surely return to the mire that is the exact description of that orphan! Clearly he missed his childhood and parental care as you can see from his response no wonder his fellow orphan endosed his ranting ![]() |
RedReact: Oyo politics is a different one in Yorubaland. I have my reasons in saying their merger won't work. Akala has offended many people from Accord party and the likes of Wole Oyelese and co won't want Ladoja to come and start dictating the ground for them. That one might not make the pact go smoothly.I say a big AMEN to your prayers! |
Esteemed Mods, you may consider this for frontpage; https://www.nairaland.com/1314676/2015-ladoja-akala-teamed-up/1#16090679 |
RedReact: I quite agree with you that the game is played not like we reason, but don't be surprised people can change at the die hours. While I quite agreed with your constructive assertion here, I must quickly remind you that PDP under the under-performing Alao Akala nearly clinched the governorship but for the split vote manipulations of Ladoja's Accord Party that gave victory to Ajimobi's ACN! Now imagine these two bigwigs coming together at a time like this, this simply means a marriage between PDP and Accord Party and this is where Ajimobi needs to be very watchful and stop thinking he has the power of incumbency especially going by the antecedents of Ibadan politics that they hardly give their governors second term ticket! |
donroxy: U peeps won't even allow effective criticism ........ ....... !!!I am yet to see any pro-Jonathan here who thinks Jonathan is without flaws, who thinks Jonathan can fix Nigeria within 2 years but what do we have from the oppositions? They so much believed in their 'quick fix-it' tendecies as if politics is one easy venture! My position has always been collapse this too powerful central government and revive the regionalism of yesteryears for effective governance as I stated here (https://www.nairaland.com/964274/tale-country-multi-coloured-system-government) the truth is, within the limited time at his disposal Jonathan had performed more than his predecessors this is one noble fact that cannot be whisked away! Agreed, constructive criticisms are welcomed but what happened when such criticisms turn to smear campaigns from the opposition? Hate him or love him Jonathan is the man to beat come 2015! |
tomakint is right here. Oyo's definition of grassroot is a bit different. Not to worry, Ajimobi is with people who are equally up to the task. At the right time, the grassroot politics will be played. Ajimobi is concentrating on his job for now.
Thank you jare my brother! Majority here are detached from realities, they thought politics according to Nigeria's parlance is won by being emotional! I like Ajimobi but he must bring his style of politics closer to the people if he must return to power come 2015! |
pro01: These two rustic old men have an extensive grassroots network across Oyo State, which means, if they align forces, they have what it takes to wrestle power from the Ibadan-centric Ajimobi. Ladoja and Akala are the biggest surviving exponents of Amala politics, which seems the only brand of politics that.works in Ipinle Oyo.Bro, you seems to be the one who clearly understood Ibadan politics that's why I am surprised at how few guys reason here! Amala politics is the same as grassroot politics as far as Oyo politics is concerned! Well-done bro ![]() |
^^^ That food was the best meal I ate in like a decade. Gaddammit!!!
Now this is funny you mean you've been eating fodder for the past ten years ![]() |
Show us evidence that you are in any way connected to Oyo to come up with that daft post or shut the fuccck up. Oh, You googled it, right?
You are still reasoning like a neophyte, you need to step up your game! |
RedReact: Awon were t'oun digbolugi.Agreed, Ajimobi is miles away in governance compared to the two, this I acceded to in my post, but you must understand that Ibadan politics is more of roforofo fights than standardized politics as being given by Ajimobi's administrations! As for the grassroots politics you made mention of, yes Akala scored some points there over Ajimobi (do your research) with his 'Amala and Gbegiri style of politics' trust me, as much as I love Ajimobi's style of leadership especially in the area of structural developments he needs to understand Ibadan's definition of 'grassroots politics'! My point ![]() |
Stop chatting nonsense using Google search. I was there last week and I did sample opinions from wide range of people I've never met and virtually all of them were well pleased with progress recorded in the state.
Most times you reason like a neophyte especially on political matters! What has your being in Ibadan last week sampling opinions of may be tens of people got to do with what is going to happen in Oyo come 2015! Well, I am not surprised at your naiveness since you spent most of your time in the North ![]() |
dj187: My guy nice post tho but dont you think it might affect PDP in the states involved? As you can see in my post, Jonathan-led PDP is on a zero tolerance against perceived moles in the house which is a master stroke strategy on their part! As for PDP's strength in Sokoto, yes it will affect it for now but like I said this strategy was timely because by the time 2014 will be over PDP machineries would have covered lost grounds and be in peak shape for 2015! Trust me, Jonathan is not clueless as widely acclaimed ![]() |
This is 'Operation Shape In or Shape Out' kudos to Jonathan on this one! |
babyosisi: Operation WetieYou just got my prediction right when I said it's going to be 'hot and messy'! |
oddy4real: Has anyone said they are suspending him because of Amaechi? and i insist, this is PDP AFFAIRS. Unless u are a card-carrying PDP member, you should not take panadol for their headache.God bless you for that short but loaded response! |
Too many clowns on Nairaland lately! Jonathan is taking PDP through a phase unfortunately, many goons especially from the oppositions seem not to see the handwriting on the wall that PDP is weeding out the bad eggs and thereby creating a stronger party faithful members who will be loyal to the leader, the man, Jonathan! By the time this process is concluded, 2014 will be used as a time to win new 'faithful' that will take the opposition by surprise - you can quote me! |
One thing is sure on the road to 2015 in Oyo State, it will be hot and messy! As much as I am pleased with Ajimobi's administration, politics in Oyo State (especially in Ibadan) has a lot to do with the grassroots and this is one area Ajimobi is detached from which may likely work against him in 2015! I want to believe neither Ladoja nor Akala will contest in 2015 perhaps they will team up as formidable strongholds and kingmakers in Oyo politics, thereby giving chance to a new face! If their plan is anything short of this, it is Ajimobi all the way ![]() |
Former Oyo State governors, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Otunba Adebayo Alao- Akala appeared in public together for the first time in years yesterday, swearing to wrest governance of the state from the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) come 2015. It was at the inauguration of a 14-man joint committee set up to work out modalities of possible synergy between the Accord Party (AP) led by Ladoja and Alao-Akala’s faction of the divided Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the 2015 project. Some among the crowd of their supporters including drummers, women, men and youths that besieged the Bodija, Ibadan residence of Ladoja, venue of the event, openly burst into tears of joy, shouting “Oluwa o seun o, Oluwa o seun o”, (Thank you God) as the two erstwhile political enemies stepped out of the house beaming with smiles, immediately after the inauguration, to uproarious cheers from the multitude. Both politicians, who hitherto belonged to PDP, had fallen apart following perceived treacherous role of Akala, who was Ladoja’s deputy, in the infamous impeachment of the Accord Party’s national leader as governor in 2010. The ensuing estrangement polarized the party in the state, resulting in Ladoja breaking away to form the AP and scuttling the reelection bid of Alao-Akala in 2011. But, as part of ongoing political realignments in the state, the duo have agreed to team up together, particularly after the pact Ladoja’s Accord Party had with Governor Abiola Ajimobi collapsed, with the governor’s sacking of all Accord Party members in his government about two months ago. Addressing inquisitive newsmen after a closed door meeting with members of the newly inaugurated panel, Senator Ladoja said the committee was raised to explore and work out modalities of possible areas of mutual political relationship, co-operation and integration, to the benefit of the teeming people of the state, particularly ahead of 2015. The committee, which comprised seven nominees each from either camp, has one month to submit its report. Akala, replying to questions from reporters on what to expect of the coalition in 2015, said with the new development, the days of the ACN in government of the state were numbered. “You know the two of us, you know our antecedents. We are grassroots politicians who connect with and control the people, compared to those playing hi-tech politics. You know our results in the last election. Calculate it and tell me the total. You must know that grassroots politics is different, it’s different from what the person there now is doing.” The former governor reiterated that the arrangement did not imply joining Accord Party, querying: “When (Bola) Tinubu was romancing Buhari, did he leave ACN, or did (Muhammadu) Buhari quit CPC? Does that answer your question?” Speaking further, Akala lashed out at opponents of the alliance, saying they were threatened by the formidable forces of the two political icons. He said he was working with his former boss for the good of the masses, saying political alignment and realignment was not strange to democracy. While Ladoja said they had been begging the governor to conduct local government election, Akala challenged Ajimobi to conduct the polls to test his popularity, boasting that he would not win a council if he dared. Shortly after, Ladoja saw his ally to his waiting vehicle, amid jubilation by the milling crowd. A political associate of Alao Akala, Mr. Femi Babalola (Jogor) described the rapprochement as “good for Oyo State politics,” and portending “good things for the common man.” The socialite said: “Before now, politics in the state has been static, but now, you are going to see live and energized activity. We don’t need to deceive ourselves we can’t talk about Oyo politics, without Akala and Ladoja. Let’s face it. These are the two people that rule Oyo State. They are the ones that hold the ace and make things happen politically.” He disagreed that the two politicians were ganging up, against a single man (Governor Ajimobi), which probably underscored the high level of popularity of the latter with the electorate. “They are running not against one man, but joining their efforts together to help the common man, because if we are to face it, I haven’t seen any government in the state since 2011.” The committee, whose initial membership was jacked up from 10 to 14 has as members: former Attorney General of the state under Ladoja, Chief Bayo Lawal; former state NURTW leader, Alhaji Tawakalitu Abubakrir; Mrs. Adeola Akintola; former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Adeolu Adeleke; Mr. Wahab Oyelade; former ALGON Chairman and Director Akala/Arapaja Campaign Organization, Mr. Ademola Ojo and Mr. Yinka Adewuyi. Others are: A former commissioner under Akala, Kemi Olorunsogo; Dr. Nureni Adeniran; Chief Jacob .G. Adetoro; Wole Opadeye; Wale Ohu; Wahab Gbadeyero and former Chairman of SUBEB, Prof. Soji Adejumo. The meet was also attended by Akala’s former secretary to the state government, Dele Adigun, Chief Adigun Irawo (Oke Ogun), Dr. Kola Balogun and other former aides, commissioners, local government chairmen, special advisers and grassroots leaders of the two politicians. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/cover/2015-ladoja-akala-vow-to-take-oyo-over/ |

Idleness at its peak! Indeed, an idle mind is the Devil's workshop What are they protesting against? That Boko Haram have been caged now by Jonathan's government! That many foreign investors are trooping into the country creating many employment opportunities for youths! That their are massive rehabilitations going on at federal roads and new ones are being constructed! That Jonathan is going for 2nd term after rubbishing many works of past administrations within his 3years! That power sector has improved more than previous administrations! That Nigerian foregn reserve is improving and affecting lives! That many initiatives targeted towards youth employments is yielding results! That our railway system is now up and working well! That Jonathan gave women voices in his administration! That by December 2014, Jonathan's achievements will be equal to none since Nigeria came to be! I can go on and on, but let me stop for other well meaning analysts in the house to add more! Whosoever is behind the sponsoring of these 'rented protesters' must be ashamed of himself or herself ![]() |
Sexkiller or whatever name you answer ...why did you ban my handle ilugunboy for such flimsy excuse....? Which thread did i provoke a tribal rubbish you used as an excuse? Amaechi's interest in the position of the Vice President behind a northerner against his 'own brother' in the same political party was a sign of political immaturity especially at a time his 'own brother' had shown interest in going for second term! He was over-ambitious and acted like a potential sell out against his people (South-south)! Whichever angle you view it from, Amaechi behaved like a traitor willing to divide the votes in his region to favour the North! The good news is that he had already failed on his misguided mission ![]() |
Someone, somewhere is definitely not saying the truth, I think Mimiko needs to talk now or never! |
Dede1: He had the idea about being President of Nigeria. Grandma did not name him Azikiwe for nothing.Dede1 is back, as usual, you spoke like an oracle ![]() |
