Much is to be done, but with the right attitude and zeal in the right places, we will get there one day.
Edited: can we all be treated as human and deserving of the basics of life? Why didn't they kukuma put the important persons in the pj, they're confused |

MadCow1: Most trucks on the road are Tankers.. If your loading manifest hasn't come out, remain at the base..
Private individuals can open truck parks and charge the drivers for parking there. But it's not the governments responsibility to provide truck parks for trailers which are private businesses.
Your truck can be parked at a yard and the owner/driver can hang around the ports and solicit business.
The Nigerian trucking logistics industry is not the largest in the world so why cant we regulate them properly? Surely they should be regulated properly cos what we presently have is disheartening to say the least. That system can work well and is being employed to some extent by the tankers. But for the containers, what can work is to have a more efficient operations services in the ports cos the Apapa and tincan ports are already congested and very unorganized. Efficient operations will lessen the turn around time and also curb the underhand practices by everyone involved in the process. Also regulating the number of trucks getting access to the port at every instance is key. Of course every truck likes to go and drop the containers at the port as fast as possible but they should be made to park In a garage until appropriate clearance is obtained from the ports. No truck will be seen parked incessantly on the roads causing gridlock. That's what the navy were brought there to promulgate but they ended up constituting themselves into lords and terrorists cos they possess arms, they chose to become thieves that heavily tax the truck in order to grant the trucks access to the ports. |

MadCow1: That space cant contain 1/4 of the trucks parked on the roads and bridges in Apapa and Surulere..
It's not the Governments job to provide parks for those Trucks. Every Truck Owner should have a yard from where the Truck should proceed to the loading area on an appointed date to load. Or provide a Park outside Lagos and coordinate them from there. Lol. Shey na you go buy the 100k diesel needed to travel to and fro the park outside Lagos to the port for them? Appointed date Abi, everyday na appointed date then, or won't you like to load everyday and make money daily or who is supposed to call you on the appointed date to go to the market square and sell? |

GreatestA1: Ronaldo might have made a mistake leaving Madrid who had helped him give Messi a good run for his money. Leaving Lisbon for Man U was a leap. Leaving Man U for Madrid was a quantum leap. But leaving Madrid for Juve when you are still as fit as any young player(Juve's medicals proved that) and had everything coming up roses for you was a fall, particularly when you need to stop Messi from winning more accolades. No affluent man leaves a City where he lives in luxuries with ample opportunities for a village just to prove he can still be wealthy there. Only and only when he has retired.
Pele who is arguably the greatest football player of all time played in Santos, his boyhood club almost all his life where he became their all-time leading scorer, yea for Santos. 80% of the goals you read he scored were on Santos Jersey! He retired in Santos(emphasis) and only he came out of semi-retirement to sign with the New York Cosmos. Hope you see how using the flimsy excuse of seeking new challenge in different leagues as yardstick to adjudge a player does not hold water like a basket?
From what I saw today, Messi might win a 7th balon dor next season while Ronaldo like Neymar and Silva would be winning league cups. He had problems with the management of RM |
Travel › Re: You Need A National Identification Number To Get The New International Passport by tomdon(m): 4:27am On May 01, 2019 |
AUTOJOSH1: The issuance of the Nigeria Passport with 10-year validity has begun,
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) started issuing it on Monday.
The 64-page passport is produced with enhanced polycarbonate. It is also embedded with the National Identity Number.
The new passport costs N70,000.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari launched the new passport on January 15, 2019.
The new document is part of the passport reform approved by the Federal Government to improve the quality and security of the travel document as well as reduce the incidence of damage, counterfeit, and forgery.
According to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), it is compulsory for passport applicants to have the Nigeria Identification Number (NIN). To achieve that, the management of NIS had set up a desk at the passport office where individuals could register for NIN.
According to the NIS Public Relations Officer, DCI Sunday James, “The National Identity Number is compulsory for all applicants of the new document. To make it easy for applicants, the Nigeria Immigration Service has provided space for the National Identity Management Commission at the service headquarters, Abuja to register applicants and issue to them the NIN.
“The public are advised not to rush for the new booklet as the new enhanced passport will run concurrently with the old one.”
The NIS spokesman further said applicants holding passports with more than six months validity are not eligible for the new booklet except in the case of damage, change of data and those whose booklets were exhausted.
James advised applicants to pay online or directly to the banks situated within the passport offices; he also advised them against patronising touts “as all the service windows are equipped to meet their needs.”
He added that the Comptroller-General of Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, had directed passport offices at state commands to continue to issue the old booklet while the service headquarters Abuja would issue the new passport.

Even though I'm a born again Christian, i think the government is right by raiding such clubs and hotels for women operating as strippers and prostitutes. Christianity gives too much freedom to women and it's the reason why prostitution in Nigeria is predominant amongst Christian women and southerners especially. When Muslims advocate for hijab and decent dressing for their women, we Christians thinks they're denying them freedom but it is has proven that Islamic tenets on women brings about good morals. How many muslim women are involved in prostitution and other seductive dressings? Majority of prostitutes outside the shores of the country are from Edo and other southern women. We Christians have a lot to emulate from our Muslim counterparts to build a sane society. Let's support the use of head covers and unseductive veils among Christian women. Sometimes i wish i was born in a Muslim home Ignoramus! Who told you prostitution is religion biased?? |
