Properties › Re: Applying Lessons From Nairaland To Micro-manage Building 5BDR Duplex From Abroad by tomdon(m): 12:41pm On Mar 08, 2016 |
Mayor78: While waiting for the drawings, I enquired and got the following prices for start up materials;
Bag of cement N1,500 Trip of sharp sand - N12,000 Moulding of 9" block -- N800 per bag Tanker of water - N4000
Given the above quote I have gone ahead to send the sum of N208,600.00 and delegated my cousin to procure cement, and sharp sand (river sand) and the needful to start moulding some blocks. I intend to start with moulding my own blocks rather than buy. I’m not particularlg in a hurry neither would I be rushing the project. Anyway, I don’t have any stash of or the bulk cash to rush the project to completion even if I wanted to. As a salaried worker, monthly expenditures would often suffice, and at best, bi-weekly procurement plan when condition allows. One thing am sure of is that it will not be one year, one block.
The sum above is assumed to cover the following 50 bags of cement N75,000 7 trips of sand N84,000 Moulding of 50 bags @N800/bag - N40,000 Thanks of water /2@4,000 - N8,000
Total N207,000
was promised that the materials will be ready today and work will start tomorrow. I will let you know if my instructions were followed. God help me! followes |
Romance › Re: Relationships Are NOT Meant For Students by tomdon(m): 8:18am On Mar 08, 2016 |
Jadekitana: I know some people would come out and say Jade has smoked her morning weed but like it or not a serious relationship isn't meant for students.
Imagine an average student who still depends on his parents for pocket money to buy handout talking about love, what do you understand by love? This generation has birthed people who now prefer actions to shakespare tales.
Your folks send you 5k to buy handouts, that money also includes pocket money to buy beans and t-fair, now tell me where does expenses for your so called babe come in? Oh u didn't think she would ask for recharge card right? She's always looking pretty and yours is to compliment not knowing those weekends she sneaks out is to go see her real boyfriend while you claiming love. After deceiving you, you rush here to create threads "the b.itch asked for recharge card,am I her father"
You think the scholars don't know what they are doing by not having relationships until after landing that chevron job? Girls are not smiling these days, its the hard truth. She would stick to you when she isn't yet exposed but once that exposure comes due to friends or peer pressure forget it! Love is a game don't be deceived, the highest bidder gets it all, while you are cursing and swearing she's having fun.
Cut your coat according to your size! Your wives are still in secondary school not the babes you are parading presently. If u ain't from affluent homes, not a yahoo boy, not into any business while schooling, you have no business having a serious relationship! You can have friends with benefits or flings as far as you play your game well.
80percent of relationships don't work after graduation, your so called bae may see a better bae and flee because time isn't on her side, stop wasting your emotions on fruitless relationships that would end at the gate. Read very well, f.uck that bff and come out with excellent grades, thank me later! I'm tired of seeing heartbroken childish threads from broke guys complaining about cheating girlfriends when you ain't worthy of having one the first place.
PS: the smart ones would see some truth here, the dumb ones would come here defending their naivety. and these are the kind of girls that some guys will marry. there's problem oo |

Romance › Re: Please Fix My Dilemma by tomdon(m): 1:49pm On Feb 28, 2016 |
Anugod: Hello nairalanders. Something came up that's bothering me and I would appreciate your input and contributions to find a solution to this ish.
I'll go straight to the point, it happened recently. I got proposed to by three different guys in the space of two days Let me explain. The first person has been asking me out for a while now, and actually, I like him. This is because of his simplicity and fear of God. He has every intention of settling down with me very soon, and to be honest, I consider him a suitable daddy to my future kids. The only challenge is, he's not very well to do.
The second guy is an old time friend who is actually in the friendzone. I never considered him for a life partner, just someone I could catch up with from time to time. This guy is quite financially stable. At least, more than my lovely first guy.
And the third guy? This one is not worthy of emulation by my kids at all. His kind of life is not what I'd want my children to grow up watching and following. He does several things that are alien to the life of Christ in me and I cannot picture myself settling with him. But ironically, he wants me at all costs, says he'd love to have a mother like me for his babies
Now to the issue. Guy 1 came around and asked me to marry him. He proposed with a small and simple ring. I was happy, I accepted his proposal. All went well.
Next day, Guy 2 came and ask me to accompany him out. Proposed to me publicly and with a more expensive ring. He made it impossible for me to say no, even though my heart was screaming out loud! Immediately we left there, I removed his ring and threw it somewhere.
That same day, while I was yet to recover from Guy 2's shock, Guy 3 showed up at my doorstep. I welcomed him like any other, only for him to burst my bubble by kneeling in front of me and popping the question. Sincerely I was miserable, but couldn't stop him from sliding this nothing less than 200k engagement ring down my finger.
Now, all guys left, feeling they had engaged me. I love my first guy but these other guys keep dazzling their wealth in my eyes. I don't want to endanger the future of my generation by giving them a father without the right deposit of good qualities to impart their tender lifes, and neither do I want to bring up kids without the necessary comfort they require.
Now, before you condemn me, I'm not a lazy lady waiting for manna to fall for me. I'm hardworking and doing all it takes to make life comfortable for myself and unborn kids. It's just that, when you have two or more options before you, not even you, would prefer the toughest one...(except it's really worth it).
So there you go, nairalanders, please advise me. What do you suggest I do? all the fkers come and chi chumchin oo. when they tell you people that it's not by opening your legs up and down that will make a guy commit to you, you will be defending rubbish. see why virtue pays. I'm 100% sure that this lady has her pride intact, I'm sure she has made this unequivocally clear to any guy who approached her that, if you want to bed me, ask for my hand in marriage. and they have no choice than to conform. she didn't have to join usher, visit weddings, parties etc to advertise. we know that time and chance happeneth to all, but no man wants to mess with a virtuous lady, you just want to put a ring on it straight up, no pranks. As for you op, I think you were a bit greedy to be frank. don't waste much time to make up your mind. pray hard, choose the one you have the most feelings for, consider your feelings and less of materialism, then follow your instincts. God be with you. |

pesty100: I was in afternoon class yesterday when my biro stopped working, so i decided to go and collect the biro I gave to my friend before the lecture. I stood up and went to the where my friend was sitting meanwhile the lecturer was in at the back of the class receiving call. I thought to my self that I would collect the biro and explain the reason for my standing up to him but before I could do that; he called me and asked me the reason I stood up, I explained to him and he said I should get out of his class. Before I could reach the door he asked me to come back and give him my name and matric no; which I did, then he sent me outside and said I should never come for any of his other lectures or test. He conducted a test for us that same evening which true to his instructions I didn't come for. He would have said I shouldn't come for exams if not for the fact that the course is being taken by two lecturers so he only has 50% on grading us.
So does the punishment fits my crime?
And what steps can I take so that this man won't bully me.
am nt a girl. I can say 100% that you acted arrogantly when caught standing up. he is in charge of the class and you just stand up without excuse? I can see you showing nonchalance when caught instead of showing total humility. you could have acted really humbly and he wouldn't have taken that stern action against you. |
