So guys watch out for d lastma guys on Falomo bridge if you are coming from Ozumba heading to Alfred Rewane.

D traffic light by the ramp. You know somtyms even when its on red, some cars still wing it n move on...

Yesterday evening 3 lastma guys were on the Falomo bridge itself, ( like directly opposite the mtn car park) they were like 15 metres away from the traffic light.

So if you are coming from Ozumba, you won't see them, until you fully swerve into the road.

I chuckled within me as I drove past grin, cos the way the 3 dudes were intensely focused on the light, it seems their life depended on it.

So avoid any situation to part wt money dis period.
Lastma people are all out to catch drivers now. Had an experience with them this morning at agidingbi (the traffic light in front of Mobil). They said i beat traffic light! How?

The light was green, when I wanted to cross over ( but the cars in front of me were going slowly) their truck was coming from asabi cole( they did as if they wanted to pass( they even shouted it, not knowing that was trap to stop me for the light to change. Next thing they all jumped down, started taking pictures and all that, put spikes...

Well said

Kala11:
Mr Oga. I hope it will not shock you if i say i am the rightful owner of the car i drive.

In as much as I do know the mindset of an average driver towards owner (wanting to feed more than the owner) It doesn't erase the fact that things are hard this time with this economy reality.

We need to be fair with our fellow human. I set out yesterday around 8am and I got home past 11pm fully exhausted. What I came home with is not more than 5k after all expenses. Ride fare is so ridiculous couple with wait time before getting a rider.

Do you also know risk people take trying to move Lagos. God really saved me yesterday. My people, becareful around 2nd rainbow before mile2. Street urchain there are on a rampage. About three cars behind me was rubbed and they carted away with valuables. They hit my car and almost torn my side mirror while escaping. They were about 5 of them. Immediately they noticed we were stock in traffic and some people are beginning to turn of their ignition, they just came from nowhere, shattered there side glasses and forcibly took things from them.

Mind you, posting earning on a public domain is not only good for owner like you to see that drivers are making a killing sum and decided to remit peanut to the owner but also bad for so many other reasons. Security reason alone, knowing fully well that people from all walks of life view this forum for various reason including those law efforcement agencies who would always want to take advantage of your hard earn money. We need to be guided.

I understand what you’re saying but put yourself in an investor’s shoes. They need to recoup their investment and yes business has picked up.

Someone complained of getting trips back to back and declining some. Car owners (investors) have really tried bro, hardly any return on their investments for the past 3 months now. Haba! Na paper them take buy the car ni.

Any driver that can’t deliver 20-25k now is not a serious person and does not deserve to be in possession of that car. How long do drivers want to keep short changing car owners eh?

I’m talking about bolt only o.
Guy it's not easy out there oooh, to make such kind of money now no be now...maybe before Corona but now...now if you get such nah luck oooh

So unto the LG touts.
For ogba axis, they have upgraded to Korope grin. Since Keke has been banned.

They now use one korope and an unmarked Nissan almera.

So here are the troubled spots where they usually roam

...Wemco road esp. Around the Sunday market.

...odunlami street.by isalu hospital ,( though I had an incident with them early this year and the car dealers around there dealt with them, that's a story for another day.

...Abiodun Jagun street by ogba bus stop.

......Ijaiye road esp. Around the ogba shopping complex. Don't park there or rest for any moment.
.... Ijaiye road around waec n d GIG motors axis.

Note: If you are waiting for someone, ensure these things are done.

1. Clear well to the right side of the road, watch gutter o make you no fall inside.

2. Your windows up, door central locked.

3. Your hazard light is on ( this is very impt), it shows you are not parking,

4. Be alert.... You all know how making money in dis hustle is right now, not all this dashboard nonsense

so don't allow any thieving good for nothing street urchin hiding under the name of the government to fleece you.

Let's keep the flame burning!
I stay in ogba, a stone throw from area G, I haven't heard of this or had an encounter with them. I will be on the look out for them. Thanks for the update.

Something happened to me yesterday at that Sabo Road coming from Jibowu.

The traffic light showed red so most of the cars were on the right lane.

About few cars were on the left lane so I decided to join the left lane not knowing that it would be termed one way as the vehicles coming the other way use it.

I was the second car while the other cars were at my back.

Since the cars coming the other direction were blocked by us, they were forced to observe the traffic light with us until it turned blue so the cars on the right lane can move for us to slide to the right.

So, immediately we blocked that road, those Yaba touts rushed at us. The first car before me refused to wind down and when the touts couldn't do anything, they jumped to my car.

Knowing that they couldn't do anything to the first car and the car behind me is one big SUV that they couldn't even muster courage to approach, I just pretended like I didn't see the tout knocking on my door.

He knocked several times but I didn't even look his side. He eventually got tired and left. Immediately the traffic light turned green, we moved to the right lane and continued our journey.

I was actually heading to the Eco bank at Sabo which is by the left side (the lane going back to Jibowu) of the road and there's no U-turn sign clearly written there.

I was left with no other option than to take right, enter the street and turn back to join the other side of the road.

When I entered the street, I saw one of the touts in the first street there. My mind told me not to turn there. I drove down to the second street and turned.

The tout saw when I turned in the second street and waited for me. Immediately I was driving out, he was coming to my front trying to stop me.

The way I matched the accelerator, by now Buhari will be shocked on how his body will be dismembered if he had ever stand in my way.

I just sped off and joined the second lane and the good thing is, the traffic light connecting that lane was green as at the time I reached there.

I beat them twice in their wicked antics yesterday.

My advice for anybody driving around that Yaba, Sabo area is to always wind up. These guys don't use gun, run even if you commit offense.

If they catch you, fine. Otherwise, give them the middle finger
Those yaba touts are mad, A driver was telling me one time he wanted to make a U- turn on herbet Macaulay way, so he entered a nearby street(no signs of no U-turn) And came out. They just blocked him that he made an illegal U-turn, Las Las he paid 5k(after slamming him with a 25k ticket). One needs to be very careful on that yaba axis.

Trust me, I have "NO NO" places more than you. But rule of the thumb is, always accept ALL trips whether you intend on going on the trip or not. Then call Rider to confirm the destination.

If you can go, proceed to pickup. If you can't, politely tell the rider to cancel and request another ride. My personal line is: "I'm sorry I'm not going towards that direction. Kindly cancel and request another ride." It works most times.

Some would be wise enough to cancel. Wait for some seconds to see if they would. If they don't, slide on "Arriving Now" no matter how far you are. After the waiting period, you can cancel with rider didn't show or phone number not available.

Remember, always ACCEPT all trips.

But then again, what do I knowhuh
Some riders can be very stubborn, when you ask them to cancel.

Thanks for the heads up, I don learn another thing today.

The other day I learnt that I should be dashing riders 1 star on bolt. ( Some riders can be funny crashed my rating from 4.90 to 4.75 in one day) I just weak

Boss please more light on this, cos I am not understanding.
Initially...I was shocked myself.

I brought a rider from olowora to university road. I got another request, on my way to rider's PU, I was blocked by the LGA touts bus on the road leading to onike(I was even thinking they were using my car to block someone else). They asking me to wind down I refused, they clamped my tyre, later I let him into the car.

I asked what was my offence he said, he said I had two, using my phone while driving (which was not true, he let dropped that one), second offence, I'm not wearing nose mask(I was shocked, because I was alone in the car, and the AC was on). We drove to their office opposite panti police station, that was how they gave me ticket of 25k(ontop wetin). I told them straight up, I don't have money and I'm not paying.

They were threatening that they will deflate my tyres and that the car will sleep if I don't pay up(I was just calm, I was ready to spend my day with them).

After sometime he came back, said he wants to help me, that I should bring 15k, I told him I don't have, he said call your people nah, I said them too don't have.(he just kept on coming back to ask me "how much I get" because I wasn't begging them and all that).

After like 3hrs(I wasn't really in a haste to go anywhere), they said I should pay 4k, I said I don't have( why will I pay when I didn't break any law). One of them went and I deflated one of tyre, naso I vex, call my uncle wey be DSP(didnt want to involve him initially) gave the guy the phone, my uncle told him he if does not let me go and he gets there, that he will deal with him, naso the man talk say make I just gate money dey go. Naso I take pay gate money (N500) and pump tyre(N500).

Those guys are thieves, ripping people off their money, something needs to be done about those guys. If I get time I go share the stories wey I hear there

Lastma guys are out to frustrate drivers this time around. No joke!

There’s this road off Ahmadu Bello way in VI that leads directly to Edo Liason office, it’s one of the regular spot you can park as a driver. I was there this afternoon but very close to the major Ahmadu Bello way that leads to Eko hotel.

I have not even spent upto 10 minutes there when one tout walked up to me and said ‘Alaye, O ri nkan ton shele abi ? ( Guy, can’t you see what’s happening?)

A quick glance through the side mirror, I saw lastma guys and their towing van behind me, they already blocked other drivers at my back.

The speed I used to start the car and zoom off from that place is legendary. I didn’t stop till I got to Lekki grin

Make una they careful o.
Nawa oooh...and I do park there ooh undecided

I guess the clause here is excess buyback. It means you will share a certain percentage of the repair bills. You can opt for a comprehensive insurance package where all the costs will be picked up by the insurance company.

About how much the insurance company will pay, it will be dependent on how well the repair shop can defend their repair invoice. If they cannot defend it, the insurance may feel it was excessive, based on their own estimate and so will cut it down.

If everything is fine, and you and your workshop can get your paperwork ready, a good insurance company will have no option than to pay you for the damage.

I deal with them regularly, and I know a lot of clients get paid, sometimes in less than a week, full amount, here in Nigeria.
Yeah it was an excess buyback. I have learnt my lesson and moved on.

I am not arguing with you oh grin

I only asked: Have you experienced this before, or you heard?
I have, some even have hidden clause.

A certain woman damaged my car badly, the woman was being stubborn and all that(police that was there was even asking me to take the case to police, I told them, that I'm not interested, that I have insurance)

I took pictures, involved my account manager, dude was forming my friend, I went ahead to fix my car, total cost was 50k+, account manager said let's inflate it to 80k, so if they remove excesses it fall within my total cost of repairs.

When DV came out, they said they will pay 25k, I just weak, that was when the account manager now mentioned the clause, that he didn't know it was this one that I did...bla bla bla, naso I come go through the document naso I see am(nah my relative do the insurance for me) I didn't read it(my bad).

If Uber and bolt won’t give us promos or return their 3% commissions, then they should increase the fares they charge riders , transportation cost generally gas increased, i can’t be risking my life for short trips of 400 only for the rider to be telling me to on AC, the reason short trips made sense back then was because of the 3% commission
Exactly, Uber 3% made sense, but since no promo again nah strictly bolt now, bolt is bae. cool

Focus on the last 500 pages( they even made reference to important pages for resources). And you will be fine. This was what I did myself and I haven't come here to ask questions yet. I'm presently on current page grin

Something you can use to disinfect your car handles and surfaces where a rider might have touched. Get baby wipes and a bottle of methylated spirit, empty the spirit into the pack of wipes. Now there you have a covid19 killer wipe wink after each trip, take a wipe and wipe all surfaces and door handles and you will be fine. Stay safe everyone
