I'm not against it being legalized. But before they do so, I suggest that they build more Yaba-left like facilities all over the federation so that there won't be too many mad people roaming around. |

TMKsouth: Minxie above has answered your questions very well. Of course prejudice and mistrust still exist, but those people are in the minority now.
Blacks and coloureds are most likely to befriend and marry each other - especially outside of the Western Cape. But most people are friendly and civil with each other in public places.
Unlike with Nigeria we don't really have a tribal problem in SA. Nigerian tribalism is in a league of its own. Thank you. I'm learning. |

Minxie: Well, I think right after apartheid ended black and coloured didn't really know that much about each other here in the Western Cape. However, there wasn't animosity. I can tell you now that most coloureds prefer black people to white people. Especially the young ones because now we know more about each other. Yes, the old people have their views. I've heard some racist comments from old people (black, white and coloured) but usually we shut them up and educate them.
Yes there are a lot of cases where people marry and date across races. Even before apartheid ended. The only problem may be a culture clash. White people here are a little too conservative for coloureds. We are more liberal and more accepting and we love change. Sometimes there's a culture clash with black people as well because of roles in the household. But that's solved by the people involved.
I don't think there's animosity. If there is, it's individual based. Also, coloured people are very much pan african especially the young ones. We also tolerate each other because of our differences. When you have such a big pot of people in one area, you have to tolerate the things that you don't understand and you have to learn more about them. I must give thanks to the government though, especially with local programming. It made my people learn so much more about black people and the different cultures. they are no longer living in a bubble. Thanks. I have met very few South Africans ( a white man as a boss and a black lady on a visit to Nigeria), they were very humble, both had something in common; a childlike curiosity I found endearing. |

TMKsouth: Black people, including the coloureds, are the majority in Cape Town. But the city (and Western Cape province) remains the most unequal in the whole country due to the legacy of apartheid.
The province is the only one not governed by the ANC. So the DA has failed to drastically challenge the legacy of apartheid. People tend to vote along racial lines in the Cape, with the majority of the Coloured people often voting with the Whites. How do the various races relate with themselves. Suspicion? Respect? Tolerance? Bitterness? Is there inter marriage among them, do they befriend/help each other at school or work? Which race is most likely to relate with another? |

TMKsouth: Not really, we all get along.
The difference is just that the Cape lifestyle is all about the outdoors - the mountain/beaches/winelands. So they are feeling more cooped up at the moment. Ok. |

obynzo: Does it make sense to you to kill or to blame a tribe for the actions of four ibo officers and a Yoruba officer? And mind you these boys killed an ibo officer in that coup Col Arthur Unegbe but for years that fact has been hidden just to spin it as an ibo coup. Other coups that have taken place no one has ever blamed an ethnic group but rather the organizers why the double standards for Jan 66 coupists? Read Emeka, by Frederick Forsyth, Nzeogwu by Obasanjo and Why we struck by Wale Ademoyega. They all mentioned that. SLAP44: Nigerians are crying for food just 2 weeks of peacefully staying at home forgetting that the Igbos faced starvation for 3 straight years while the Biafran war lasted?
And we must remember that for this last two weeks they are crying, nobody is bombing their markets, churches, schools, hospitals and refugee camps unlike what happened to the Igbos?
And no one is laying any land siege, sea or air blockade on Nigerians, nobody is shooting at both moving and unmoving targets this past two weeks and yet they are crying?
If you are finding what happened in the past two weeks difficult, remember to visit any Igbos born before 1970 and congratulate them because they are the real heroes of our time. They endured for 3 years and survived it all to thrive in the same space.
God bless the Igbos. It's wrong and foolish to embark on the ethnic cleansing of a people because of the sins of a few. It's utterly foolish for a few to murder very important members of the other tribes that they don't belong to, knowing that this is Africa. So, don't intimidate anyone here with "remember". Hope you remember what led to the hunger. |

[quote author=SouthNigerian post=88320238]You should understand that I don't attack Christianity, I attack the wolves in sheep skin who keeping leading unsuspecting vulnerable Nigerians astray. For your information, I believe in Christ & His teachings.
Learn to be very objective when launching those attacks. There are some people who believe that there is no genuine pastor and Church in existence, you will unconsciously help to destroy their faith. Publicise pastors and churches you know are genuine. Celebrate their stand for Christ and encourage people to join. Don't give people reason to deny Christ. The real wolves in sheep clothing are those who point out all the errors and never get anybody saved. They work for the devil and quote the Bible to back it up. God will judge them. |

SouthNigerian: If the Apostle is sincere about his healing powers, let him head straight to the NCDC Centre in Yaba while healing positive Covid 19 patients by placing his healing hands on their noses, mouth & eyes. They were leper colonies in Jesus's time, but he never went there to heal everyone. Jesus himself said, they were many widows in Israel, but only one had God intervene in her situation. Just leave Christianity for us the sheeples and serve whatever way that suits you. 1.Christianity is a life of faith. 2.Salvation may be free, but not cheap. 3. For everyone that received healing, Jesus commended THEIR faith, so, anyone who desire healing should work on building their faith for healing. |
