You must have opted for this. The point is for a BASIC bank account which provides the normal services of keeping money and acess to free ATM, there is no charge.

I see nothing wrong in the OP comparing Nigeria to the UK, what extra services are Nigerian banks providing to be charging such ridiculous amounts? Even after covering diesel and operating expenses, what are the remaining charges for exactly?

When they have no innovative ways to generate revenue, they rely on milking the masses. It's just wrong.

You heard when uwa's sister said police asked them for mobilisation money before even taking up the case ,these and many other reason is the reason why Nigeria is not at the top of the charts. BTW let me introduce you to the fact that France, India, Norway keeps the record in digital format in their National Crime Database Servers.
Especially India where every crime is linked via their Bio-metrically verified UIDAI (Unique Identification Number) (A Digital Database reference point).

For a borough in the UK, you can view the crime stats for different categories of crimes. Please share where similar info can be viewed in NIGERIA.
