ThreeBlackBird: Don't read it out of context. Just like many, I'll do anything to be in MIT. Election violence doesn't get you into MIT. The boy is there due to his exceptional performance in high school in Georgia.
Call that man whatever you like. He's done well for his children than many of the so called educated fathers out there. And how did he get to high school in Georgia? The fact remains that it's the money from election violence and harassment he has used to train his children, but you see, it's not the beginning of a thing that matters but its end. You can't cost other people their peace & lives and think all is well. Nigerians as usual will praise anything and never question the origin of something as long as it's "getting results" and we wonder why the country has gone to the dogs. |

EgunMogaji2: Gentlemen.
One: That Nigeria is difficult for you doesn't mean that it is difficult for others. Some Nigerians, including me, are living our best lives right here in Nigeria. I say this after 33 years in the USA. I could have gone back to the USA on one of the many evacuation flights by our embassy but I didn't. I love Nigeria.
Two: Not everyone is an economic migrant. I have met some people in Nigeria that came on vacation with family to the USA but had to run back to Nigeria leaving family behind to continue holiday because of some new contract opportunity in Abuja. Some men are very uncomfortable leaving Nigeria because of "Awon Abeyin Bebo Je" in business world.
That you are particularly suffering in Nigeria without direction doesn't mean that others are like you too.
Celebrate your countrymen that believe in Nigeria, like me, and who yearn to come back home.
As always, may our blessings find us wherever we are at.
PS: And for Gods sake, if you desire to leave Nigeria then please do. We have an open border, embassies are giving visa (pre Covid), hundreds of thousands of Nigerias have emigrated. You can too. Stop whining and get on with it. Lmaooo Couldn't agree more with your whole comment. Well said |

jawalis: Did you just asked what I have contributed to build Nigeria? I’ll answer you. In my own little way: I have distributed goods (food packages and materials) worth 25,000 to help people in my environment during this lockdown. I have in several years been paying my tax to the local government councils where I reside though they didn’t disturb me nor no one ever compel me to do, in my capacity; I have been able to bring a initiative (though still struggling for survival) which brings people closer to their leaders where they make their agonies known, I have helped in building Nigeria in my own way by convincing a foreign investor to consider Nigeria and it was done without me getting a dime out of it, just my little self. I have been able to convince citizens around around me to make a trackable road which lead to our district while I was responsible for their welfare. Amongst other. I can go ahead but it’s of no need doing such to someone who’s as shallow as you are. Having done all this - which is commendable by the way, why would you then rather die in Canada? |

Ibime: No, I would have made the same statement if they were men.
I don't expect them to live in huts neither do I expect people earning between N30k and N150k to live like multimillionaires.
Their bosses don't mind them chopping. Just don't broadcast it so the whole country can see the rewards of frustrating Nigerians at the Immigration Office and demanding bribe for every service. They did not give a tour of their houses, you barely saw a glimpse in the video yet came to such a conclusion??! Talk about bias. |

Since they are chopping like that in Lagos, they should go and continue the chopping in Borno Were you expecting them to live in huts? So, how their houses look now implies they must be "chopping"? I bet you won't have made the same statement if they were men. |

Charmingrascal: Seeing innocent Almajiri children suffer in this manner breaks my heart, they get turned back at State boundaries, their Governors are rejecting them.
They are suffering because of the senselessness of their parents who continue giving birth even when they know they can't take care of the kids because an allien religion permits them to give birth as many as they can and marry as many as you like even if you can't feed them.
They are suffering because Northern elites love power more than the well being of their people, and they have refused to make life better for them.
I wish Northern youths will have sense and know that their elites are just greedy and selfish, all they want is power and nothing else.
Some of the pictures and videos of Almajiri kids that I have seen really broke my heart, imagine innocent kids being transported from one State to the other for hours just to be turned back at the boarder.
I cry for the North I cry for the North I cry for the North It's a really sad situation. It's not the fault of these children. |

festacman: Racism is difficult to erase as it is usually put in the minds of people from childhood through racial slurs, stereotyping and prejudices. This engraves enduring sense of race superiority in the mind. It is the same thing with sense of ethnic superiority, which is common here in Nigeria.
However, extreme racism comes from feeling of combination of superiority and benefactory. A son of a millionaire will rarely treat the child of gateman as a mate or equal. The sense of superiority is there. But all that will certainly change if in future the son of gateman achieved success and wealth to operate on the same frequency with the son of the rich man. Respect is earned and sense of superiority disappears.
My point is Nigeria and Nigerians will continue to be rated and viewed poorly by Chinese and other such countries until we elect visionary leaders, install basic infrastructure that are taken for granted in other countries, upgrade our economy, import less and produce more locally and stop dependence on economies such as China for goods, services and developmental loans and grants.
As far as we remain a hopelessly unproductive import-depedence country known largely for a medley of mismanaged oil wealth, corrupt leaders and systems, runaway doctors, good footballers, youth emigration, online frauds, drug trafficking, etc., don't expect to be treated like a giant when you are actually a midget. As well as those that defend the same useless corrupt leaders, they are part of the problem. |
