Aside the hype of been a US citizen, free education and social benefits, can someone tell me why everybody is clamouring to deliver in the US.
It is not as if it is cheap, some claim it's for better medical delivery.

When I look at it from a different angle, I notice that many of the happening men and women in Nigeria today where not born in the USA or UK or anywhere else for that matter. They made it here, born and bred and conquered.
I've been there, I have seen it so I know majority feel it's a way to escape from Naija for their kids and them ultimately.
Should it be so, had it been our leaders had made this place a conducive home for all and not a few.

What will it take a governor to determine to build a world class hospital in his state and attract foreign investors to partner with him within the four year tenure. I know there are lots of philanthropist and humanitarian organizations that will support such projects. Or what will it take a governor to render a selfless service to build a world class school fully equipped for posterity and for humanity.

It hurts to see our leaders going abroad for treatment or to go and celebrate their wards graduation from foreign schools.
When leaders behave like that the citizenry have no option but to follow suit.

As it stands now it may seem like even those leading us have no loyalty to this nation they pretend to believe in Nigeria but their actions betray them.
What will it take to fix our roads, our light, our security, instill discipline and rule of law. What does it take to have citizens who take pride in their country and speak good of her anywhere and everywhere. That's what makes the difference between here and there, the people.

You see what we are saying, let a man of class, a man of today, a man who understands poise and fashion represent us instead of making us look like stone age men in Nigeria.
I learnt way back in secondary school that you don't wear traditional attire with socks but just take a look and see.
Now people who know out there will conclude that's the way we are not knowing that it's just one man on his own.

BTW, for the first time he is taking his wife along with him, is it because it is Turkey.

Would it not have been more adaptive if it became a faculty attached to UNIBEN. Why create a new university with VC, profs etc and all the other attendant huge cost of running a university.

When the existing ones are crying due to poor funding.
These guys sometimes I wonder how they reason, whether they think nation first or they think self. I recall one former head of state rather than make warri the capital of Delta State made Asaba the capital because his wife is from there thereby throwing the whole state into crisis which is still lingering. Such is the myopic nature of their thought processes.

No wonder many youths are taking to arms and militancy, with recognitions like this, it means indeed that the end justifies the means.

How do you explain to children who have seen this man in chains and read all that he did now been honoured with such title. BTW the man's command of the English language is suspect.
With this kind of thing I won't be surprised to see shekau being honoured as emir one day. Funny people.

What's going on in the world, if the human beings living in it are tired then it's time for it to end.

How on earth did such scale of disaster happen right here in Africa at our doorstep. Let's not think this too far from Nigeria. These terrorist can infiltrate Nigeria to support their fellow Boko, going by the almost porous borders we have especially in that NE. The security agencies must study this massacre and learn from it how to prevent this magnitude of disaster, we are not immune to it at all. It is still the same ideology that those evil doers in Somalia share with Boko.
America that fighting countries building weapons of mass destruction should also pay close attention to these criminals that can wipe out these large scale number of people in one fell scoop.

It is normal.

Nguche was the same excuse, kabiru Sokoto was the same until he escaped under suspicious circumstances and the rest we know. The one caught that dressed like a woman alleged to come for bubu, that case ended just like that.

They should give them the amnesty and let us rest. All this drama is enough.

derecho:
Friend, you don't give your tithes to the needy.Help the needy.

We don't do things because it appeals to us.We do what the Scripture teaches and we are convinced about.

By the way, how much are these tithes people are talking about? Some spend more on prostitutes and their girlfriends. Some spend more on frivolous things but are only "savvy" when it comes to godly things.Serving God is a personal thing and no one needs to cajole you to give to someone you love.
No Christian who reads his/her Bible gives his or her tithe to enrich a pastor but in obedience to the Bible. He also offers to God out of love.
Giving is the life of a Christian because it's one of the expressions of LOVE.

Finally, those who tithe and offer their resources to God are not fools. There are many benefits to it.But beyond giving monies, you heart is the most important thing you can give to God.Cos your money and donations can't secure u a place in heaven. You Must Be Born Again

Thank you very much for the bolded part of your write up, it shows you still have firm control of your mind.
You see when you look at the sheer extravangance and expensive worldly dressing and lifestyle f some of them pastors, and how they use their affluence to wreck homes with their advice. One can't but ask where is all the money coming from.
The captured ones in their fold will quickly tell you it doesn't matter what they do your is to pay your tithe. If it doesn't matter why should any other person's source of wealth matter so far they pay their tithe.
I will rather donate to particuler church project than use my hard earned money to sustain the flamboyant lifestyle of one pastor. I can pray for myself, the need for going to church is because it is recommended in the Bible.

Daddy yo, is making a whole lot of sense, I allign with his messages. Give your tithes to the needy and not to enrich one pastor that pretends he is hearing directly from God or to that he is the mouthpiece of God.

They will attack him because he is exposing their tricks but he should not give up rather he should publish articles so that it will reach everybody. Only the truth can set the people free.

With the way and manner people have looted and raped this nation and are still currently doing, yet Nigeria is still standing as a nation.

I can't but believe that God loves this country.
If it were the wishes of some people they want to loot all the money into their family home and let the rest people to and die.
For a man alleged to have only 20k in his account before he was made president to now have everything money can buying his village. Haa Nigeria.

In this 21st century, in a country of 180million vibrant and healthy people, in a nation that has produced some of the world best, in a nation where we have highly educated and qualified individuals who have the Midas touch to change the fortunes of this nation.

Just look at what some people are campaigning for. It is indeed a shame.
The present administration has not given any inspiration to the youths it will be a total deservice to the nation to continue like this. We need a dynamic, healthy and fit, visionary, sound communicator, inspiring leader.

Is the presidency no longer open to any qualified Nigerian? Why for goodness sake are they like this. Cowards die many times before their death. The man said it as it is, he laid the truth bare now typical of them they are lying that they never discussed such so he has dementia or what that he could not recollect what was discussed.
Anyway, I'm not surprised, it's there way.

I'm not surprised at this new statue the man has a complex for meeting presidents but I trust imolites. Just one more killing of an ibo man in SA will see that statue pulled with bare hands. Another wasteful venture that's not Budgeted for. Too bad indeed.

Celebrities / Re: Tagbo: Who Is Telling The Truth, Davido Or Police? Davido's Many Controversies by totorimi: 4:40pm On Oct 14, 2017
babaolofin:
If it were D. J Olu that had died under similar circumstances that Tagbo died, I am sure there would not have been any unintelligent & uncivilised noise making the type being witnessed in social media by the people along their axis.

David will come out very strong & very wise. This is a stage where life presents him an opportunity to think deeply & make necessary correction before moving to the next phase of his life.

He is a young boy, he needs to remember the son of whom he is according to Yoruba adage. He needs to be careful of the kind of friends that surround him. Nigeria has people with bitterness, vendetta emanating from tribal inferiority & sentiments. You will find them everywhere always looking for cheap opportunity. The last of these their behavior is the Baru Kachikwu NNPC saga.
For the second time, I will repeat my earlier posting.

God is very good to Davido for allowing him to pass through this experience so as to know about life & human beings. He is still a young boy & needs to learn at home instead of all this useless celebrity life. I am sure nobody is happy about this kind of life he is living among the old generation in his family.

Even his grandfather, the first republic politician & a senator of the first republic will not be happy in his grave. Looking at Otedola's daughter as well as a DJ, it saddens a lot of people from Epe axis & business families. This is not our (yoruba) culture. It exposes the family to a lot of risks especially in Nigeria where we have tribal envy & hatred.

Davido, is a young boy who needs to be taught some lessons at home by elders about Nigeria. I remember during Abacha regime when Nigeria was having diplomatic problems with most developed countries and it was very difficult to obtain visa. Unknown to Alaafin, somebody in his entourage included somebody's name for visa. This person was caught carrying drug. This time, Alaafin was fighting Abacha govt. Lawyers in UK who volunteered to defend the case was rejected by the drug career in the entourage citing that they are yorubas. He said he preferred Ibo lawyers (his tribal men). Chukwumerije was the minister of information as at that time . They were all involved in that embarrassment of the Alaafin , but the UK govt defended Alaafin.

Few years back, Goldie, an actress died on her return from US having gone to attend a Grammy Award ceremony. We were told she was rushed from her home to hospital where she died. That was the story, but so many things were also around. It will take propaganda experts on bitterness mission a lot of energy to occupy social media space to make a living out of this, but it is not in our character & culture.

Davido, eni abi ire, ki nrin ide oru.

Dont bring this your yoruba sentiments here. who has accused Davido of anything, even the girlfriend of the deceased who isnt an ibo lady never said Davido killed anyone she only questioned why he abandoned him.

It is the police that saw something fishy in his initial statement that called him to clarify issues. So what has this incident got to do with the place the victim involved is from. This two people have come along way, what they represent to eachother we dont know all we know is that they are friends.
I think what should concern you the more is the kind of life Davido and co are living, yeah given they are musical superstars but who goes about drinking all through the night.

Everybody on social media, even including the yorubas are saying ritualist and so on and so fought should all that be swept under the . If you say someone died of intoxication and doctor's autopsy report says otherwise should that not be investigated as well.
We are talking of a human life cut short just like that whatever the cause may be whether irresponsibility or man made we want to know so as to prevent future occurrence
Nowadays, we hear of musicians claiming they eblong to one illuminati or the other, can you really trust any young man of thesedays considering the trends around us.

No one has accused Davido but by all means let the police do their job. Personally I am a fan of Davido but I will not because of that vouch for any one not even Davido. He is an adult he can respond to police questions so no need for the hullabaloo.
Celebrities / Re: Tagbo: Who Is Telling The Truth, Davido Or Police? Davido's Many Controversies by totorimi: 1:23pm On Oct 14, 2017
Did Davido not partake in the drinking spree, why was he not drunk or he is immune to alcohol.

The coincidence for three of his close friends to die in a related circumstance is too close for comfort.
Well, here our investigation processes is screwed so this case is as good as dead.

Politics / Re: Jacob Zuma Arrives Imo For A 2-Day Visit (Photos) by totorimi: 11:46am On Oct 14, 2017
.....but seriously, is it too hard or is there a governing law prohibiting governors from partnering with private sector to build industries in their states to create jobs for their people.

For the SE states they have alot of successful technocrats abroad who wish to invest back home but afraid to do so. Perhaps all they need is the assurances of the governor that they won't be scammed.
The governor can visit them at their host countries by way of a business meeting gather them together to discuss ways of setting up industries and businesses in their home states. Offer them assurances and viable sharing formula.
Offer them subsidised land allocations for development. Investments to be managed by trustees and not govt.
For the northern states this kind of arrangement can easily be made with those investors in the Arabic countries since they don't have many northerners living in diaspora.
In this way businesses will thrive and jobs created and when it comes to security and power generation govt needs to really work on that sector as that is the basis for any meaningful growth.

That man has real lofty intentions just that our people are used to poverty mentality.

They should give the man a chance to make the changes he promised. What is Okada and Keke napepe doing in a city. They should be confined to the rural areas where they are mostly needed and not the city. The governor should not look back on his reform programs, at the end the people will finally appreciate.

He should be open, sincere and focussed. God will help him. He should do enduring projects that will stand the test of time.

This is a very simple case to crack for the police if they really want to, but the way they have started.

I am sorry to say this one of them dead on arrival case. Money is talking.

Where did all that money come from what was the purpose.
The money still has wrapper on it so the bank that paid out that huge cash can also provide clue who came to withdraw it.
When they left the bar how many of them departed that night or were they trailed.

This is a clear case of murder.
