18 years of no single project the federal govt of nigeria can claim they have completed in Yorubaland. 18 years for God sake. So you can agree with me. we do not need the federal govt. We should just pretend that we have no federal govt.

In fact, its so hard to have faith in Nigeria anymore, with the number of facially challenged guys who have been posting their pictures on nairaland recently.

I doubt many of these people are even Nigerian at all, because 98% of the Nigerian guys in my own vicinity, have all been very presentable for as long as I can remember. Dranoel thanks for the last answer. I have another question for deep zone & tpia, because the also seem intelligent the opposite way.

question?  Why do yoruba men sleep with their daughters, sons wives, grandson's wife. A good example is our honourable president and student of theology, Chief Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo. He has disgraced his son, family, and the entire yoruba race even though he exposed their long lived tradition.

Deepzone, tpia, can you please tell us the little story about how your father has also been abusing you? bloody incest.

Do you guys know that apart from sleeping with obasanjo, gbengas wife was also sleeping with her father and uncles. Men yoruba's are bleeped and they are a disgrace to the human race. What is wrong with you yoruba's?

Morpheus, please explain to us how your father has been doing it with your sisters and how you also do it with your sisters. You are all a disgrace.
unlike you, I cant fabricate stories out of thin air. I wasnt brought up to disrespect my elders either, regardless which tribe they're from.

Info on London's East End:

East End

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_End#Today

The East End came into being as the separate villages east of London spread and the fields between them were built upon, a process that occurred in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. From the beginning, the East End has always contained some of the poorest areas of London.

William Booth began his 'Christian Revival Society' in 1865, preaching the gospel in a tent erected in the 'Friends Burial Ground', Thomas Street, Whitechapel. Others joined his 'Christian Mission', and on August 7, 1878 the Salvation Army was formed at a meeting held at 272 Whitechapel Road. A statue commemorates both his mission and his work in helping the poor. A Dubliner, Thomas John Barnardo came to the London Hospital, Whitechapel to train for medical missionary work in China. Soon after his arrival in 1866, a cholera epidemic swept the East End, killing 3,000 people. Many families were left destitute, with thousands of children orphaned and forced to beg or find work in the factories.
In 1884, the Settlement movement was founded, with settlements such as Toynbee Hall and Oxford House, to encourage university students to live and work in the slums, experience the conditions and try to alleviate some of the poverty and misery in the East End.

During the 19th century, building on an adhoc basis could never keep up with the needs of the expanding population. Henry Mayhew visited Bethnal Green in 1850 and wrote for the Morning Chronicle, as a part of a series forming the basis for London Labour and the London Poor (1851), that the trades in the area included tailors, costermongers, shoemakers, dustmen, sawyers, carpenters, cabinet makers and silkweavers. He noted that in the area:

“ roads were unmade, often mere alleys, houses small and without foundations, subdivided and often around unpaved courts. An almost total lack of drainage and sewerage was made worse by the ponds formed by the excavation of brickearth. Pigs and cows in back yards, noxious trades like boiling tripe, melting tallow, or preparing cat's meat, and slaughter houses, dustheaps, and 'lakes of putrefying night soil' added to the filth ”
—Henry Mayhew London Labour and London Poor (1851)[

"Hardest of all, the Luftwaffe will smash Stepney. I know the East End! Those dirty Jews and Cockneys will run like rabbits into their holes. ”
—Germany Calling - Lord Haw-Haw, collaborator and broadcaster

Throughout history, the area has absorbed waves of immigrants who have each added a new dimension to the culture and history of the area, most notably the French Protestant Huguenots in the 17th century, the Irish in the 18th century, Ashkenazi Jews fleeing pogroms in Eastern Europe towards the end of the 19th century, and the Bangladeshi community settling in the East End from the 1960s.

In 1786, the Committee for the Relief of the Black Poor was formed, by citizens concerned at the size of London's indigent Black population, many of whom had been expelled from North America as Black Loyalists, former slaves who had fought on the side of the British, in the War of Independence. Others were discharged sailors, and some a legacy of British involvement in the slave trade.

The high levels of poverty in the East End have, throughout history, resulted in a corresponding incidence of crime.

Historically, the East End has suffered from under-investment in both housing stock and infrastructure. From the 1950s, the East End represented the structural and social changes affecting the UK economy in a microcosm. The area had one of the highest concentrations of council housing, the legacy both of slum clearance and war time destruction.

Are all the northerners illiterates, does that mean intellectuals like Prof. Jubrin Aminu, Prof. Munzali Jubrin (NUC), Prof. Salim Ahmed, Prof. B.B. Danbatta, Justice Mohammed Uwais (SAN) and a host of other technocrats and intellectuals are all illiterates?
I dont know why you're directing your questions at me. The ones I asked you refused to answer. I'm not involved in all the name calling plz. My own issues are of a different sort.

Once again- is it every single Yoruba you met, who called the northerners illiterates.

And do these stinking Yoruba include your fellow muslims who also worship the same Allah as you.

These are simple questions. Why are you dodging them? huh
PoliticsRe: To Hell With Your Oil, North Tells South by tpia: 5:02pm On Aug 18, 2008

The North is always described as backward & illiterate, this definition despite the truth is so repetitive in naira land. Why is it hard to accept the simple fact that Yoruba’s are arrogant & stink?
I don't know how many Yorubas have stunk in your face, but the reason I posted that link about dirty jews is to show you that these stereotypes are nothing new. Its just a matter of attaching a different label to the same old story.

where are your muslim Yoruba brothers by the way? Do they also stink, or is it only the Christian ones who smell?

Is it every single Yoruba person you met who described the north as backward and illiterates? Including the Yorubas who are married to Northerners?
PoliticsRe: Enough Of Northern Bashing From Southners by tpia: 4:45pm On Aug 18, 2008
@ mcUsman: I said Middle east, not Middle Belt.

@ morpheus and ono: you need to follow the world economy before assuming things will continue the way they are ad infinitum.  We are in the age of globalization, so thinking Nigeria is at the center of the universe, is a big error. If the global economy crashes, then some countries will no longer abide by the current rules. Thats why in western countries, anytime they start feeling pinched financially, they start lashing out at immigrants and demanding they go back home.

Looking at Congo and the Sudan, which factions are winning and which factions are losing? Trying to match yourselves man for man by doing numerical counts like kindergarten kids, is childish. War is much more complicated than all that.

This isnt about secession. Its about regions doing what they feel needs to be done in order to survive ( or get richer).

When you all are shouting about the north being cattle rearers and poverty stricken, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to focus on the fact that if your claims are indeed true, then it may be a better move to simply invade your more prosperous neighbors to the south. As was done before.

Not to mention the fact that its these same northerners you depend on for cattle when performing social functions and for elevated social status in your local community. No be them dey supply the cows una dey take do burial? Who in the south can can host a "befitting" burial of his relation using only goats? You people need to think, for real. You depend on the north in more ways than you want to admit.

And like I said, anyone thinking Europeans will make tribalism a personal do or die thing, is fooling themselves. In case you're counting on European support.  Mercenaries are known to switch sides.

morpheus24:
I for one support the peacful seperation of the northern and southern belt of the country. Lets see how the north will deal with being completely cut of from the sea region in terms of importation, oil revenues and survival.

Ifd al lthe oil revnues were diverted to the actual  states that actually contribute to its production I don't see how the south will not have enough income to buy the food supply it needs and have enough reserve to import and practise technology based farming systems akeen to the vegetation of the south.

Frankly speaking I don't see any usefulness the north offers the southern part of Nigeria in terms of ingenuity, innovation, economic activity other that food.
stop dreaming.

If the north divides from the south, what prevents the north from invading the south anyway, if push comes to shove?

They'll have the full support of the middle east and the tacit support of the western world who may provide vocal encouragement to both sides so they ( the west) will gain regardless who wins.

or do you think Europeans wont do business with the north out of love for the south?

I smell a military coup on the horizon.

the rate at which everybody is getting mouth, can only help a dictator, not hinder one.

jeez, every LGA is agitating for "their rights". And in a manner designed specifically to cause mayhem.

He said the village heads would get a four bedroom flat each and a palace for the chiefs. "Government is using the opportunity to improve their standard of living".
All these efforts by the FCT administration is considered a child’s play by the FCT indigenes who vowed to fight with the last drop of their blood till justice is done.
did they have four bedroom flats before?

Galadima equally alerted of the impeding doom that will soon behalf the government in an effort to resettle some of them. He said they may likely turn down the offer. "How can you build a house for us without an input from us. They set up a committee but we are not part of it. We showed them the building pattern we wanted but they rejected it and went ahead with their own design. We had expected a round table discussion but they did not invite us".
huh huh huh

anyway, this is why most foreign companies retained their bases in Lagos. There's a lot to be said for people's attitude.

And this is why Europeans had to practice a take no prisoners policy in so many places they colonized. One would think people would learn from history. The American Indians protested- have their protests stopped America from being flooded with immigrants.
