Mustay: I don't know how to confront her. If I do am sure my bros wil throw me out of the house. cry

Dominique:I don't feel comfortable with dirt. But it is annoying that I do the cleaning always. She is not supportive atall. I wonder how the house wil look like when I finally leave my bros house.

Idupaul: take your time, am talking serious issue here. embarassed
@ bolded: thats the main thing for sure.

but don't you think its very disrespectful to be fighting your brother's girlfriend/wife in his own house? That's something I can never see myself doing- I hope I respect myself beyond all that.  I don't even know what will make me live in my brother's house at this stage- regardless if he's in a relationship or not.

And shouldnt you be making plans for your own man and your own place, or how long do you intend to live with your brother?

neither am I surprised you're the one doing the cleaning. I had actually suspected that, from the other thread. She may have been the one doing it before, until you probably told her she doesnt know how to clean, or something similar. Na today African/Naijas dey get interfering relations?

tpia: where do u see an ibo lady getting tired of a relationship and stil managing. My bros has spoilt her with much affections. And she comment she can not see a man like my bros, thats why she remain glued to him.

My bros his ready anyday and anytime for marriage, but i don't understand the girl even my bros himself. They wanted to do registry marriage last year April, but the lady objected to it with some reasons. Later her father died and she has to mourn for six months. After the six months, that was October last year.

Although my parents were against this relationship before because there was no progress, but since their son is not ready to comply with them, they have no choice. My parents later complied and wanted to follow my bros to the girl village last year December, to pay dowry but her uncles do not approve their joining together, both families does not want these 2-love birds together. And both have resigned to their faith, that nobody can separate them.

This is a critical issue, that makes my mum cry sometimes & thinks and this is not good for her health.
her being Ibo is irrelevant here, and a generalization. There are plenty of Ibo ladies who remain in a relationship even if they dont appear to be happy. Its not a tribal thing anyway.

Even from what you've posted, it seems there is too much outside interference in the relationship.

besides, I'm sure both the lady and your brother are getting some mutual benefits vrom each other- its not one sided. if she's praising your brother then you shouldnt use it against her. After all she has to tell you what you want to hear.

Anyway, why is everybody in their business?  They are both adults and unless they like the attention, drama and wahala, they should know how to get themselves sorted out. Make people no get hypertension on their behalf.

It should not be like that, I feel sorry for that victim, who suffered from brutally cowardice acts than by his fellow Muslims or family members.

My point here every violent behavior the name Muslims is always associated with his/her Religion. On the other hand, if violence committed by other parties likes the Christian or Jews you cannot read or mention what religion they affiliated. It means they consider then as under the category of Christianity either whatever denomination or ethnic you belong except Muslims. This is the problem that I like to emphasize here no matter how you explain to them that Religion has nothing to do with individual act of violence, because every individual front to commits violence in term of cultural differences, political, tribalism, racism, terrorism, family feud, etc.

What are happening now the spread of Hatred to the Muslim world are enormous? The entire Muslim are suffering to this kind of maniac propaganda done by the media of giving such miss inform reports. We are trying to educate people here to read more about Islam and get enlighten.
did you read my post at all?

and did you notice the part where I pointed out that this particular thread was probably moved to the Muslim section thanks to the department of vice and virtue police who are always on the lookout (like you) for any thread that mentions Islam or Muslim.

And before going off on a tangent, did you notice the topic is about a man who was murdered because he alledgedly blasphemed your religion?

Your attitude seems to indicate you agree with the almajiri killers, since so far you've shown no concern at all about the victim. You're more bothered with finding out if similar religious murders are carried out by other religions, in the same manner.

You must surely be joking with your statement about religion having nothing to do with this kind of violence. Please tell that to your compatriots around the globe.

I don't know which hatred you're talking about.  Which religion doesnt have haters.  Maybe you're being sarcastic sha.

So what special earthly privileges does worshiping god confer if these followers of god are subject to exactly the same natural fates the happen to everyone, whether the love god or not?

Worse still, doesn't their religion say that if you love and trust god he will protect you from such incident?

If he does not and cannot protect from such mishap, then what is the point of loving and worshiping him. He is simply a big fat liar who takes all you time, efforts, money and love but returns zilch.

No doubt most reasonable people distrust this your god.
who exactly are you fighting- God or people who believe in God.

If your beef is with God, then direct your questions directly to God, since you're unwilling to accept any human answer.

If your problem is with people, then say so. Ask them the rationale behind their belief and accept the fact that in this world, everyone can't be the same. We are not clones. Everyone can present their arguments for or against a particular thing, but you can't force anyone to accept or reject the same things you do.

Even the soviet Union is no more. China is desperately trying to adopt a new face to match the western world. If they can dance to a different tune, then whats your own excuse.

Where are they.  Do you consider yourself one? Then say something reasonable.

Why would god kill  his pastor or allow his pastor to die in so horrible a manner?    Does this show the benevolent nature of god?  For godness sake,  these people where gathered in his name - where the hell was he?  Somewhere drinking wine?

Nothing fails like worshiping god!
Your agitation here your personal quandary, because you have no answers for your fear.

Are you forgetting the fact that everyone has to die someday? Some go sooner, others go later.

Everyone will still die anyway.

Accidents happen. A pastor can also be involved in a fatal car accident. People die in various ways every single day.

Since you like to question God and ignore the existence of satan, i don't know what answer can ever satisfy you.

So in your opinion, it was God that killed the pastor?

can you ask yourself the same question about Jesus- why did God allow Jesus to die in such a horrible manner.

I didnt see any answers. Answers are concrete and backed up with facts, not conjectures or theories. Besides I don't have to accept it just cause someone said so.
Give me something tangible to work with,
For example- you posted a picture of a Somalian refugee, which you try to blame God for.

Someone posted a response, informing you that Somalia is a Muslim country, so why are you blaming the Christian God.

You ignored that, then went ahead and questioned why Jesus is spelled with a J, since the letter J wasnt used during Jesus time. What a question, by the way. Makes you sound rather daft, if you ask me.

Your logic is erratic at best, though you seem to consider yourself a genius.

And you're not interested so much in hearing the answers, as in showing off. Pride is a great barrier to knowledge.

@ kemisuga: the girl herself may be tired of the relationship but for whatever reason is staying put.

Not too many women would be happy at being in an 8 year relationship with no future in sight. I don't know which of them is jazzing the other.

Why don't you ask your brother why he wont marry her? There were no kids, pregnancies or anything in the entire 8 years?

In any case, you should leave them to themselves. Sooner or later one of them will come to their senses.

I mentioned Christianity and Islam, but that goes for almost all religions. Up until a few hundred years ago many religions could survive for hundreds of years, secure in the ignorance of its followers. Today with the tools of rationalism most religions are beating a retreat into the realms of allegory and metaphysics, abandoning explanatory area of reality to science. Today, any religions that make a claim about reality better be capable of defending that claim against science.
your reasoning is over 400 years old.

You must be reading books from the middle ages- the time of galileo and stuff. Everything you're mentioning here has been argued, discussed and straightened out, centuries ago.

Though going by what I see these days, it seems we're headed for another "middle ages" era anyway. Civilization seems to be backtracking, along with rational thought.

Absolutely WRONG. We have control over religions. Many of the religions of the past are now dead precisely because we failed to preserve them and because new one have evolved to take their place. Just as Christianity/Islam did not exist 3000 years ago.

Many millions of people today have made a deliberate choice of NOT belonging to any religions, a very sensible choice I might add.
were Christianity/Islam the only religions that didnt exist 3000 years ago? Do you think African traditional religion as you know it today, was around 3000 years ago?

a religion that remains static is a religion on its way to extinction.

People can be baptized in the shallow part, close to the bank.

What do you want people to do? if Nigerians vacate the Niger delta, foreigners will still move in if they want to.  Militancy isnt the only way to handle this kind of situation.

If some fascist dictator rises from Zimbabwe, Russia ,China or whereever and just invades the entire region and takes over the whole thing, what will the so-called militants do? Una never see storm and fire. Bush invaded Iraq- has anything happened to him as a result of it.

once again,  try to understand the Nigerian situation.

Imagining Islam is the same all over west Africa, is a delusion.

Nigeria isnt like some other west African countries that are 98% Islamic, regardless what your Muslim Nigerian brothers are telling you.

No one is saying there's no crime in the Christian parts of the country. What the article is about, is the random killings in the name of Islam, which occur more frequently in the Muslim north.

If you visit the political and crime section of nairaland, you'll find news stories on various crimes there, not specific to religious affiliation.

This topic I'm sure was moved to the muslim section due to the jumpy morals police who are always sniffing out any topic that mentions Islam.

so before you start feeling like a victim, show some concern for people who are real victims. Unless you support the manner in which they were killed.

Don't bring colour into this. Are saying that we shall bring back the Brits so that we can be like South Africa? There is nothing wrong with black man and their skills, it just that our culture of bigmanism is killing many African nations. People in power threat their positions as unelected Monarchs.

South African is still progressing after aparthide because Mandela set the pace for good governance, couple with well develop white skills which they deliberately retained instaed of being consumed by revenge after the minority rule but the likes of Nigeria completely wiped out any trace of the whiteman after their independence instaed of keeping some of them for a while to get the skills from them.

Nigeria for instance were so desperate that they change the way we drive from left to right just to prove a point, changed the pounds to a useless Naira just to prove a point of our independent. Look at at how Mugabe ended up with Zimbabwe when he decided to use unskillful people instaed of experience.
like it or not- South Africa was not built for you, a black person. Unless you also want to deny being black. South Africa was developed for and by whites.

If you think the issue of color can be separated from the story of south Africa, then your self deceit knows no bounds.

Nigeria does not have the same degree of white penetration as south Africa did because of the way the region was administered. I'm not your history teacher- go and learn these basic things which every small child used to know before Nigerians like you discovered the internet and got visa to travel abroad.

look up Cecil Rhodes, who Rhodesia was named after. There were countless more south African whites like him.

Talking of desperate Nigerians- you're certainly a good example. Someone who denies his birthplace and heritage just to lick some foreign boots somewhere. Its your type the whites locked up in "homesteads" during apartheid.

Too much boot licking is not good.

The south African is here promoting his country. You are here denigrating yours and you think your attitude isnt self defeating.

TravelRe: Enjoy South Africa In 2010 (a Must See) by tpia: 6:45pm On Aug 11, 2008
I agree: remove the whites from South Africa and see how fast the place will collapse. (Modern) South Africa was designed for whites, not Africans.

which is another reason why you have miscreants like mpele running their mouths anyhow when they're talking to black people.

The beauty of places like Nigeria, Ghana, etc is that whatever we have achieved, or whatever infrastructure we have, has been done mainly by blacks and for blacks. That is something South Africa can never say.

So whatever job we are doing, whether good or bad, at least is being done independently. By the people and for the people.

On this basis alone, anyone comparing Nigeria and South Africa has missed road. There is no basis for comparison.

You want to promote south Africa- do so without bringing Nigeria into it.
