absolutely remember Superted. ![]() |
I'll never forget Fraggle Rock. Great theme song, nice effects. http://youtube.com/watch?v=TSDeoO-j3G0 Muppet babies also had nice opening music, though thats all I remember about the show. ![]() http://youtube.com/watch?v=EwaddpsKdKg |
na wa o. I guess you're hanging on at that company because the salary is good, whenever they actually get around to paying it. In that case, why not try looking for a second job while you wait to see if your employer will pay up the arrears. Not sure how easy it is, but a problem might be: if you quit without getting paid, what are the chances you'll ever receive that money. As they say, out of sight is out of mind. Of course I dont know the exact situation or outcome of whatever you decide to do but just contributing my two cents. ![]() |
@ topic: na wa o. This reminds me of the time I was told of someone who wanted people to help him pray his brother's wife out of her matrimonial home where he was also living. Give some people an inch and they'll take a mile. @ poster- imagine if your sisters in law also opened thread for suggestions on how to boot out their uncooperative brother's wife. Wouldnt that be something. This world sha. Anyway, to be 39 and unmarried is a big problem even for a man, talkless a woman. 34 is still okay though a person can start sweating a little. But at 39, the sweat for become shiver oh. ![]() and yes, did the virgin hunters on nairaland not see this thread. ![]() |
ifele:helloo. what exactly is your point- you're saying so many things yet still beating around the bush. Just need a little clarification if possible, though I think you may be an old face with a new user id. na today? What else is new. ![]() [s]why am I even bothering- I see you're an old hand at what you do. I no get time.[/s] |
lucabrasi:come on now. Who wouldnt want to marry Babangida's daughter- even if she'd had five husbands. And in fact, in Nigeria I'm so sure men probably outnumber women thanks to multiple wife lifestyles and the frantic pressure for male children. Anyway, as you pointed out before, these types of marriages are mainly ways some of these govt bigwigs use to consolidate their holds on power and build connections among themselves. I'm sure the lady can get a regular or unregular joe in Nigeria or from some other country to marry if she so wished, but she probably feels bound by some sense of duty to marry someone from among her family's approved list of suitors. even if that means she'll be unhappily married, or one of the "other" wives. ![]() na wa for this world sha. |
lucabrasi:I'm not convinced there's a shortage of rich, powerful, influential and handsome guys in her own age group who are single and looking for a wife. All these govt VIPs and whatnots have sons, don't they. If they want to marry her off as surety and guarantee in order to cement their hold on power, there are probably more than enough available guys around to fulfil the requirements no matter how stringent. Most of the Nigerian bigwigs have more than one wife and have been producing kids nonstop from the 60s to the present. Why should she singlehandedly be forced to marry someone just for her family's sake. Or whatever. We are not talking about European or Saudi monarchy here. The whole thing sounds like one of those pacesetter novels. besides, if a woman can't look happy on her wedding day, then when will she ever look happy. ![]() |
winnteam:true. ![]() Arielle:also true about the colicky, gassy and poopoo stuff. Anyone involved in child care can testify to that. Including babysitters oh ![]() |
gosh, I checked out this thread by accident and i must say, this nairalander known as opokonwa is a very interesting guy. [s]Now, before you go all tribalistic on me(!), [/s] opokonwa, your contributions here were very interesting. I read maybe 40% or less of the posts, but boy were they lively. Didnt even realize what NLNG was before now. Naija!!! |
@winnteam: everyone is not pretending. Some people ( including myself) have never seen it done in real life, but only heard of it or seen it in pictures. The first time I remember ever hearing about this kind of thing was when I read The beautyful Ones are not yet Born, as a teenager. believe it or not. Besides, outside Nigeria or Africa, this practice would seem kind of weird. ![]() |
first it's would you sleep with your mother in law. Now its would you sleep with your father or daughter. hmmm. carry on. |
I've heard about her books and read a few reviews, but not the novels themselves. Anne Rice is a religious writer now, by the way. Now she writes books about Jesus. ![]() Interesting turn of events. http://www.annerice.com/ http://www.annerice.com/Chamber-Biography.html |
wow. Such a brave man. ![]() |
well, if its to save the child's life you have to do what you have to do. Mouth to mouth rescuscitation isnt always a walk in the park either. But in general, mentholatum, robb or vicks will clear the nose pretty well, I think. There are also bulb syringes for the job, as someone said. But as was also pointed out, if someone gets or has ever gotten a bj, then he/she's not really in a position to complain about this kind of thing. I think that's a logical way to look at it. ![]() |
hey, just catching up here. Still havent gone beyond the first page yet. Anyway, @ SeanT21 I love America and I love the UK, but when i get older and get rich i am moving to the UK. While i am there i will visit Sexy Prince Harry and Handsome William.don't steal any of my future boyfriends na. Hands off. ![]() |
sounds like a workable plan. If only both sides can keep to it. |
sometimes when you stare at someone too long, they start to look otherwise. ![]() Too bad P square broke up with Lola. Though to tell the truth, I did wonder why they were together- she seems way classier than him. Why she no date oyibo sef. Hopefully she'll get someone else who is more reliable. |
I cant even begin to imagine the effect all this craziness is having on the children. ![]() |
well, @ title of thread, did she dump her first husband, or who did the dumping? The marriage breaking up doesnt automatically mean she dumped her husband for no reason. ![]() She doesnt even look too happy in the wedding picture. I think she shouldnt have rushed into another marriage just yet. Maybe just moved abroad or something. |
people (not only Nigerians) get married: because they're in love because they want to settle down etc etc. |
BY YOUR SIDE JAMIE SLOCUM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMdxfs9fcGE And I know there’s a plan for you Your life has a purpose There’s hope beyond your broken road Jesus set a place for you At the front of the table with the weary and the wounded And He’s showing the way, the truth, the life for every day So when you lose your way CHORUS: Don’t give up, don’t give in This is a race that you can win Every time you get passed by There is a reason why God loves and believes in you He knows the pain that you’re going through He’s with you every step of the way And He’s by your side When your life comes crashing in You’re a ship without a sail Everything you’ve tried has failed you Never thought you’d feel so sad It’s a nightmare without end It's getting harder to defend it God will send his heavenly host to fight for you and help you walk on through it CHORUS: Don’t give up, don’t give in This is a race that you can win Every time you get passed by There is a reason why God loves and believes in you He knows the pain that you’re going through He’s with you every step of the way And He’s by your side By your side every day every night CHORUS: Don’t give up, don’t give in This is a race that you can win Every time you get passed by And you’ve lost your way CHORUS: Don’t give up, don’t give in This is a race that you can win Every time you get passed by There is a reason why God loves and believes in you He knows the pain that you’re going through He’s with you every step of the way REPEAT CHORUS Don’t give up, don’t give in This is a race that you can win Every time you get passed by There is a reason why God loves and believes in you He knows the pain that you’re going through He's with you every step of the way And He’s by your side [s]in loving memory.Wish I'd been there.[/s] |
you might have to give more details. Do you want to sell them as pets or what? I dont know much about the matter either, but do you think bears can survive in hotter climates? anyway, I'm curious about this topic and found this: International Animal Export Regulations http://www.fws.gov/permits/RelatedSites/RelatedSites.shtml http://www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/ncie/iregs/animals/ni.html I dont think bears can be exported, though. never heard of such. |
![]() why would you want to sell bears in naija? North American bears? Or from somewhere else? is there a market for them, and what are the regulation guidelines on importing or exporting wildlife? You have to find this information- probably from customs. I thought bears were an endangered and protected species anyway. Not to mention they can also be dangerous. |
nobody mentioned Hugh Grant?? ![]() ouch!!! Richard Gere?? ![]() the list is not complete without these two, plz!!! many others too. cant remember them all right now. |
A fresh start by Helen Ovbiagele. |
@ wahala & topic I believe you are searching in the wrong places. eg your ex-girlfriend's shop. no be you talk am? ![]() |
he's still dating her? This guy must be either crazy or broke. na wa o. ![]() maybe its love sha. well, if he doesnt mind being disciplined by his woman occasionally or frequently, then its all good. Na private matter. ![]() |
quick innocent observation here: why don't the Tivs and Idomas get along. ![]() They seem rather antagonistic towards each other. |
