debosky:bro, as per your matchmaking or friendship making efforts- you're preaching to the choir. ![]() Been there, done that, never again. With either gender. ![]() Am sure blacklion is a happily married or happily engaged man nothwithstanding all his shouting here or anywhere. Am also sure he's not gay. ![]() |
@ aisha's explanation. No wonder. The guy must also be one of those yabbing Nairalanders or internet commandos like dalby and Blacklion. na them dey front pass, but put them in a serious situation and watch them fumble like nobody's business. Na socializing problem o. See what happens when you refuse to learn from your interactions on the web. Or interactions in general. People will complain about everything- English is not our mother tongue, women are too forward, etc etc. Instead of them to learn from the world around them, na so so yab them go dey yab, only to fall flat on their faces at critical moments. @ blacklion and dalby- na una sef una dey explain o. You're not talking to me at all. I don't give a flying fig for anything you might have to say. In fact, say more. ![]() |
katherinae:true talk. ![]() |
blacklion:you must be smoking the same thing as dalby. I've noticed a trend on nairaland these days where people start spilling what they regard as others' personal information, in an attempt to score some cheap points and make the person look bad. Why should I worry myself about anything dalby feels like posting about me? its a free world. People are free to post any information they think they have, about random strangers they've never met in real life but who they loose sleep over at night. That's what instant messenging is for- random information about people on nairaland. Juicy gist and even juicier gossip. So far, the guy has said I'm working three jobs, I'm an accountant because of taxes, I live or don't live in Nigeria. All very useful information, as far as I know. he also included other usefully coded information such as telling me he's married and going home to his wife, he has a job which pays him wonderfully (better than my own), I trekked out of Nigeria through whatever country or countries he cares to name, etc etc. Not to mention the fact that according to him I'm still trekking and so far havent even reached my destination. At least im own never reach pawpaw level yet. abi no be poop packer pawpaw say I dey do for abroad? Since all Nigerians in diaspora dey pack sh*t. This one still say I be accountant. maybe na one of my other three jobs involve sh*t packing. ![]() I've also noticed 95% of dalby's posts are in response to something AJ said. I doubt he'd have anything sensible to type on nairaland if he's writing for himself and not as follow follow. Whoever wants to rant should rant o. If you have any info on me, please spill the beans. I don't even need to bother verifying or denying- after all ,it must be true, or how else would people have heard about it. In fact, i'm saying right now that any info someone posts about me on nairaland, is true. Guaranteed true by me, and stamped with my seal of approval. You can quote me for future reference. sheesh. Considering how folks are going kolo these days with people's pictures and what not, is it even surprising. You have a personal problem with somebody, you post pictures of her family. You mutilate other people's pictures. You cast aspersions on people for issues not even related to the topics being discussed. Are all these the marks of civilized or even sane people. But carry on, sha. I dey. ![]() local radicals. ![]() |
Dalby:kolo. In any case, what's wrong with working three or five jobs, being an accountant for whatever reason, or doing any job you're ascribing to me here? Dude, if you need visa, let me know. Maybe I can be of assistance if I think you're nice. yeye.
people can't even wriite about their lives without morons throwing it at other people's faces in other threads that have NOTHING to do with such The hell does job and accountancy have to do with anything? Some of you are so immature it's ridiculous.
You get time. I strongly suspect he must be that guy calling himself pawpaw. ![]() previous posts ko previous posts ni. |
Dalby:You're limited only by your imagination. them refuse you visa? Or are you that pawpaw guy? ![]() |
Dalby:knock yourself out. You're limited only by your imagination. ![]() Dalby:when you want to propose, tell the girl the same thing. Just say "I've condescended to marry you". All women will jump for joy when they hear that. As a matter of fact, wasnt this the same problem that girl had in Pride and Prejudice? Am just remembering it now. Some rich guy proposing to a girl and also abusing her family at the same time, for not being in his class. Of course she put him in his place and sent him off reconsidering his manners. ![]() |
Dalby: ![]() you're not making any sense at all. if you get visa, travel out of the country. abi na me dey delay ya emigration? blacklion tell you say im dey inside country? or what are you going on about? comot for road abeg make I hear word. blacklion:the OP has said the guy himself explained his reason for proposing in that manner. He himself accepted that he didnt do it right the first time. So why are you weeping louder than him? the girl's reaction was based on his action. She may have overreacted, but that still doesnt excuse the guy. AJ pointed out that she ought to be used to the way Nigerian men do their own things- in that kind of frightening manner. So you're saying, that's how Nigerian males should continue proposing marriage -like club the woman over the head and drag her off kicking and screaming? The guy would have benefitted from reading a couple of mills and boon and watching a few hollywood movies along that line, in my opinion. Assuming the girl even wanted to refuse the marriage proposal or delay her decision, how do you respond to someone who tells you " I have decided to marry you?" as if she'd been begging and hounding him to marry her in the first place? Anyway, the real issue here is the couple had a fight, both of them offended each other, but they've been able to kiss, make up and put their differences behind them. At least the guy was man enough to accept his mistake and apologize, which I highly commend him for. Shows he loves the woman enough not to want to lose her. Says volumes about his character, by the way. and I repeat- why must some of you feel like Nigerians deserve nothing good in their lives? Is it written somewhere that Nigerians are cursed forever? We always have to settle for being the underdog? If you believe that then its a pity. ![]() I have to say I was so shocked by your comment. |
edit. |
blacklion:hmm, I was about to comment on the bolded then noticed you're gearing up for a fight. I used to think you were a peaceful person? I guess I thought wrong. anyway, why must we Nigerians/Africans constantly denigrate ourselves and feel we're not worthy of anything good? We should always confirm the Tarzan stereotype while swinging from our trees. That's what I'm reading from your comment. ![]() |
@ jesusfreak seems u didnt take time to watch d video dear, shame shameI watched the video and will watch it again, to catch your drift here. the problem I have is with the generalization. ![]() @ romeo: by the way, romeo, you sound/seem very familiar somehow. Do I know you from somewhere, by some strange chance? (or at a night club in Spain or new zealand?) even though we CLEARLY don't move in the same circles? I don't spend all my own time dancing at the clubs o. I have too many other things to do, even though I like dancing. Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with spending every day at the night clubs. Everyone has to pay their bills one way or the other. ![]() |
can we PLEASE apply all this know how to the Nigerian situation!!!!!!!!!! ![]() |
me I don tire for this Hillary/Obama saga. all these "too close too call" calls are too hyper for my liking. But for people who are giving themselves heart attack over Obama, as if this is the first time the US will be having an election, na wa o. ![]() |
you guys are missing the point. Okeke may have lied about his occupation to the prospective bride. Could be delivery man, security guard or cab driver saying he's a doctor, lawyer or important business man abroad. Nothing wrong with any of these occupations, but why lie to someone you say you care about and want to marry. What about when she discovers the reality. The wife arrives joyfully overseas only to discover her dream prince is actually the opposite. Nothing wrong with that, except he shouldnt have deceived her in the first place. happens a lot. There's a story somewhere about someone whose girlfriend is thinking of sponsoring their entire wedding and engagement since the guy has no money. Some girls don't mind these kind of things, as long as the man is telling the truth. ![]() |
even if he does, is Ruth going to be the one financing the whole process. From traditional wedding to white wedding and honeymoon. She already coughed up the funds for the engagement ring. If Augustine wants to marry and he has no job, then surely common sense should tell him he needs to find a solution to his situation. Either delay the marriage or find a job. Start a business, no matter how small. When the children start coming, is Ruth also going to be the one bankrolling the entire household expenses. Unless the guy is handicapped, she's getting herself into a big problem here. Ruth herself is an enabler. She's placing no demands or responsibility on the guy, hence she's not helping him in any way, even though she thinks she is. ![]() |
he's an international LovePeddler he's old he's ugly he's a liar he's bad in bed he doesnt call he goes away for weeks at a time without contacting you ![]() |
@ topic: I have finally decided to marry you. later on in life: I have finally decided to divorce you. what's the difference? One is the puppet, one is the puppeteer. what a scary marriage proposal. I'd freak out too, if I were the woman. ![]() |
I read the story on sunday and I think she may regret it. am not sure Augustine is really in love with her. Rather, he only wants to block her from dating another guy. No, I dont think he loves her. ![]() |
romeo:please don't consider yourself an expert on Nigerian prostitutes abroad. You don't know each and every one of them, no matter how much dancing you do every single day and night. They come, they go. So, unless you're the one bankrolling the entire trafficking process from Nigeria to Europe, you can't have 20/20 vision in this matter. ![]() @ jesusfreak: doublecheck your source again for what you just wrote. The article I read talked mainly about the redlight districts. And its not called buying- there's a different name for it. |
romeo:I've said my own, you've said your own. To each his own. by the way, are you a bouncer? na only night club you dey frequent for Nigeria, Spain, Italy, or anywhere you go? abi na recruiter you be? Why would I be going round all the clubs in new zealand to count the number of prostitutes there? ![]() |
romeo:una don come be that o. Are you yourself based in Nigeria- or is that not Spain on your profile. If you happen to have friends who are prostitutes, in what way does that mean every single Nigerian prostitute abroad knew they were being trafficked for prostitution. Again with the generalizations. You can't claim to know every single prostitute in Italy, Spain or wherever you are. When this trade was in its initial stages, there were many women who said they were tricked about the actual nature of their employment in Europe. And if these people are going into the remote hinterlands to scout for girls, then there's still the possibility that some of these girls may not know the exact nature of the job. Or are you saying every single girl without exception has the desire to be a prostitute. Some go with the full knowledge of what they're getting into, while others don't. As to night club patrons and the like- every country has them. Dont know why you consider Nigeria's own worse than others. have you ever visited the US. Anyway, flash money anywhere in the world, and a good chunk of girls will follow you home. Dont know what you're saying here. . @ Blatant: The article didnt specifically mention Benin girls, to the best of my knowledge. |
the day I go to a church and find them distributing condoms is the day I tell them to call me crazy if they ever see me there again. ![]() Not to mention asking them which/whose funds they are using to purchase condoms. |
olrotimi:new zealand offended you somehow? there are no Nigerians in Australia? or you know where every single Nigerian is at any given point in time? ![]() where is the signature saying foreigner? You must be paranoid. and on your blog, you posted a picture of some guy and his son who you said are your American interests, and that you want to build up similar friends and interests all over the world. Does this explain your fixation on new zealand? Explain what's going on with you, and why you're following me around. I'm a very friendly person and I dont mind. ![]() |
@michelin How stupid are you?So you're taking this topic seriously- even more so than the OP? the thread itself is tongue-in-cheek, so you're just working yourself into a fury over nothing. Its a free world- people are free to be religious if they want to, so no need to rain curses on people for what they chose to believe. However, like I said, its a free world, which is why you yourself can curse out anyone who decides to have beliefs that are different from yours. The religion section is lively enough as it is, with various religions abusing each other over there, so nothing new about what you're saying. check your facts and find out information on condoms and the military. yes, condoms are an instrument of prevention, just like the pill and diaphrams. Should churches also distribute pills, diaphragms and IUDs to the female members. Does this analogy make you feel better. Maybe churches can routinely have birth control clinics every sunday after service, for both male and female church members. Are you more comfortable with this example. anyway, I dont consider this a serious topic. If you do, then kudos. |
@ romeo Every single Nigerian lady prostituting in Europe knew what she was going to do in Europena lie. @ romeo There are more prostitutes in Nigeria than the whole of Europename your source for this information? ![]() |
should machine guns also be distributed in church in case some people there decide to be armed robbers? ![]() |
4 Play:There is no evidence you say? If that isnt yarning tosh, then I don't know what is. The only evidence I'm not seeing is evidence that there are no "sufficient locals prepared to enter into the trade". Like there's any country in this world without its share of poor people. Na every single Italian dey rich? Keep fooling yourself. I'm also noticing your quickness to jump on Nigerian women who find themselves victims of this trafficking. Not all the women who are trafficked in this manner go intentionally. Some do, while others don't. And you're saying the whole thing is a fabrication by CNN because they ran a documentary about it? If you watched the video, one woman was crying while she recounted how eight men humped her at one session, after tricking her about her services. Maybe you feel the tears were fake. see Nigeria o. Seeing no evidence. Any wonder we are the way we are, with our mentality. ![]() |
4 Play:the question is still unanswered. Why is there such a high demand for prostitutes in those two countries in particular. The local women may not be prostitutes ( not that every single one of them is angelic- I'm sure they got their own home grown ladies of the night too), but why are women being imported in such large numbers and for so many years, to service these men? Are their women not giving them sex AT ALL? Why is the demand for prostitutes too high to be adequately catered to by local brothels with local women. After all those arent the only countries in Europe. How are the other Europeans managing to cope with their own lack of sex from their career women? ![]() |
no be by force o. I could care less anyhow. If una like break up if una like remain the same. una still dey inside Africa. ![]() |
4 Play:no, I find it very difficult to believe what you're saying here. Your explanation still does not explain why the men of those countries need to import so many women for sex. Prostitution is not specific to Nigeria alone- every country has its share of prostitutes. And if you read the article carefully, it mentions both Nigerian and eastern European prostitutes who are being trafficked to two specific countries in Europe. There is no country in the world without prostitution. The bottom line is still money. It looks more like a specific demand problem (like the slave trade), not necessarily a supply problem. |
