hey, we're cool.

i just don't see why you must preface your comments with insults.

Do you have any observations about your own self at all?

but thanks for the link. Yeah, the hand movements might come across as a little strange.

I was expecting something like krumping.

I'm not sure how it would look in a church setting. Might be a little weird until people get used to it, i guess.
RomanceRe: Study: Women Prefer 'bulldog-faced' Men by tpia: 10:54pm On Aug 24, 2007
maybe the women they interviewed.

can't speak for them.

what do they mean by bulldog faced anyway.

Funny way to describe a person.

There's nothing wrong with these guys, more or less, but that's a weird way to put it.

@ poster.

just move on.

if the girl is trying to distance herself from you, please let her go.

The time to be emotional/sentimental has passed.

both of you should just let each other go and start over.

This is another lost Nigerian in the diaspora (no harm intended). It is a new dance step as the thread suggest which was tied to or derived from the latest song of Olu Maintain (Remember the Maintain Group if you hav ever lived i Nigeria ?).
so is yahoozey a Nigerian word?  since you're the expert on what is Nigerian.

You are yourself wandering in the desert, if you think someone is lost for not knowing what yahoozy means.

and no, I dont know anything about the Maintain group. Nor do i want to.
RomanceRe: Help! I'm Inlove With A Ghana Girl! by tpia: 4:07am On Aug 24, 2007
I'm just wondering why you keep pointing out the fact that she's Ghanaian.

is that what's tripping you about the lady?

I dont get what your dilemma is, anyway.

and you keep referring to her as "ghana babe" as if she's not even a person. How would you feel if she went on the ghana forum and kept yelling " this Nigerian dude".

It doesnt show seriousness, imo.

but carry on.
RomanceRe: My Girlfriend Is Disgusted by tpia: 9:47pm On Aug 23, 2007
@ poster: you know you can't eat your cake and have it.

You made the girl abort her baby and still want things to be the way they were before your action. Its just not possible.

It was really selfish of you anyway, but you'll probably have various excuses for what you did. But don't expect the girl to feel happy over an abortion.  Moreso this was a baby she wanted to keep.

best thing would be for both of you to go your separate ways, but I guess you'll still want to give the relationship another try. You do know the girl herself is devalued in your eyes now, whether you admit it to yourself or not.
FamilyRe: Disciplining Children by tpia: 5:23pm On Aug 22, 2007
can someone explain why, with all the beatings, Nigeria is still corrupt?

no one has attempted to answer this question.

beating is just too easy, which is why so many people do it exclusively. its more convenient for the parent, since the use of force cows the child into submission. Besides, most Nigerians were raised to regard beating as the only form of discipline.

Personally, i just don't see how someone can spank a baby.

anyway, each to his own. Everyone should raise their children the way they feel is best.

Not all children respond to beatings. I'm sure many armed robbers ( some with legit jobs, others without), were also beaten as children.

were yahoo boys ( 419ers) not beaten when they were growing up?

RomanceRe: Where Are The Good Girls? The Answer by tpia: 9:32pm On Aug 21, 2007
oracle, i didnt read most of what you typed here because i dont know why you are shouting, but I dont see why any " good" girl should be punished by having to date you.

Like attracts like. what you give is what you get. Expect to get girls with a similar attitude as yourself.

High School Musical 2: hmmm.

Not quite as good as the first one, especially with the songs.  About the only song i really liked was  You are the music in me.

but the movie did address some serious issues, like the quandary of a guy being pursued by a rich girl who throws money and connections at him to make him forget his friends and g/friend.

It did make me think.

FamilyRe: Disciplining Children by tpia: 9:23pm On Aug 16, 2007
If beatings worked, Nigeria ought not to be in the state she's in today, because most Nigerians believe so much in the saying "spare the rod and spoil the child".

IMO.

however, different strokes for different folks. there are plenty of other, acceptable ways to discipline a child. beating isnt the only one.

don't intend to spank my kids or yell at them. i have an eight month old. i handle her with kid gloves. children are not wild animals that don't heed you or take directions. live by example and half your work is done already.
You're quite right.

@ topic; that's child abuse. How can someone spank babies. That's just so uncalled for.

I notice a lot of people abroad tend to run themselves ragged working multiple jobs, barely spending any time at home with their kids ( or too tired to do so)  and then blame the system when the kids turn out anyhow.
