PoliticsRe: See The Three More Hurdles Set For Would-be Ministers by traihit: 7:28am On Jul 29, 2019
Wow...

Despite all these, we're still going to have majority of them becoming parasitic and cancerous to our institutions. I overheard on Saturday that Nigeria can still run on averagr ground without these ministers. Yet, they'll get there and nothing will come out of their nomination.
PoliticsRe: Kunle Toogun: South-West Traditional Rulers Are Selling Land To Foreign Herdsmen by traihit: 7:23am On Jul 29, 2019
Honestly, some of these traditional institutions should be scrapped. They're not adding any value to their jurisdictions nor are they promoting development between their people. In a strong traditional hold, that king ought to be banished by the people.

That's what we call "akótilétà". Imagine having a prodigal as your traditional ruler, you're doomed! They're already selling out Yoruba land.

Nothing some people won't do just for gains.

My own old boy has refused talking to me since two years, immediately I came back from service. Look, you don't know wharris going on.
I had to prepare my mind for pressures like this before I finished service. It's really difficult to manage pressures coming from family especially if one is staying with them.

He suffered only 1 year after school and commits suicide cheesy
If you're not in pain, you can't understand it. Imagine a mum who suffered for 26 years and put the accumulated pressures of the 26 years on the young man. It's enough to crush him in less than 6 months especially since he was introverted.

Although instructed to load the money into a military jet for transport to Abuja, the soldiers failed to do so but instead shared it among themselves and disappeared.

They reportedly dropped their rifles, uniforms and other accouterments, and mobile phones before vanishing into thin air with the money.

PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri: I Have Never Seen An Igbo Beggar Since I Was Born Till Today by traihit: 2:36pm On Jul 20, 2019
While you're not wrong, we should understand that when someone like Reno speaks, it's not just for the sake of speaking. He meant something when he talks about it. And here, he's just being mischievous. Those who like to discuss national politics need to beware of group prejudice when they do so.

Kennydoc:
I am Igbo and I know there are many Igbo beggars especially in the South East, but we should carefully read and understand Reno's post. He didn't say there are no Igbo beggars. He said he has never seen one. I think he's only trying to say that they are few and not ubiquitous as those of other major tribes especially northern tribes.

booblacain:
You people are so devoid of comprehension. Reno never said that there are no igbo beggers, he said he has never seen one, which means to him there are rear, what right do you have to argue about what he has seen or has not.
What's your insinuation when you say you've never seen something in a complex environment like ours? You don't need to clarify his statement if it's really plain as you said.
PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri: I Have Never Seen An Igbo Beggar Since I Was Born Till Today by traihit: 9:46am On Jul 20, 2019
Reno actually knows how to talk trash and exaggerate unnecessarily. I used to say that before but I was wrong, there are Igbo beggars.

Tamasaba:
There are Igbo beggars. I will be honest. Dino would have been absolutely right if he had said "I have never seen an able bodied Igbo beggar". What I am saying is that Igbo's only have people who resort to begging because they can't, reasonably, fend for themselves. E.g the blind or those suffering from illnesses that they can't handle financially.

This is unlike some tribes with healthy able bodied men begging for alms with bowl. E.g...lol

Nigerians are definitely smarter than most of these countries, but the odds are against us societally and economically.

Give a Nigerian an enabling environment and see what he/she is capable of!

If not for Femi Adeshina, because he's a westerner, you won't hear anything from the presidency. One major thing Buhari did in his terms is creating more enmity between other Nigerians and the Fulanis. He won't be in office to see the full consequences of this.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: FG Not Owing N-power Beneficiaries – Presidency by traihit: 7:21am On Jul 13, 2019
I'm beginning to think that Nigerians are a little tougher than that. In fact, we need a tough and credible government to move this country forward. Last month it was reported how some guys ran away with NYSC loan while they left their certificate. It may be true that some will get the loan like you talked about, but majority will run away while squandering the money on frivolities. Our government needs to change but Nigerians need a lot of changing to do.

mrvitalis:
Over 250 billion ...if u had give graduate 1 million naira loan with their certificate as bond

We would have created 150,000 business ( assuming 100,000 failed )

This people should have at least created 500000 thousand jobs and we can generate 15 billion in tax from this ...after 7 years the program can sustain itself
And still provide over 100bn in tax

This is how jobs are created

Meanwhile they all have being employed elsewhere and getting good pay.
I've met close to 20 beneficiaries of the scheme. Only one of them shows up at his PPA and that's because he's passionate about improving lives. The rest just collect the money like it's free money while they have jobs elsewhere. The government is not supervising them and the people are 'cheating' the government. So, the government and the people constitute Nigeria's problems.

Nobody is saying pastors shouldn't talk, but a lot of them overshoot their shots. Which is unnecessary and does more harm than good to the church.
Then you'd have to be visiting churches and be charging pastors who 'overshoot their shots' to the court of the social media... If you have any message different from the man's, go and get a congregation and preach your message to them.

People here might think this is a large amount of money. But this is usually lesser than what a Professor gets as grant for research in the US. Ordinary 14million dollars to be shared by over 70 universities? This is not including the fact that more than half of the money won't reach the receiving ends o. What research findings would be achieved with this peanut? undecided
Sometimes I really pity Nigeria with Nairaland being a microcosm of the country. You can see what those chaps are saying there calling people wailers etc. A paltry 5 billion naira for a big country like ours yet, we want to compete with countries where one corporation spends up to $100 million on research in a year. Nigeria is really a joke. Let the keep speeding on ruga, welcome package etc. We'll surely reap from those too. But nobody should expect any technological advancement from this country.

Uncle BBQ, please tell me these Shia people are currently not better than the Fulani herdsmen killing and raping people everywhere. Yet, the president has not come out for once to admit it. Still, a man is held in prison where the court calls for his release and the president is not obliging. In your wisdom sir, you're calling for their arrest. Don't you think this is one strategic way to incubate another terrorist sect in a country that's already weary of bloodshed? Isn't this the same strategy your Lord PMB is applying to Ipobians whose cause is now just due to PMB' s obviously nepotistic leadership style?

Perhaps you need to dig deep into Nairaland to discover sillier writeups. Silly as it may, and whatever RUGA implies, it should be left in the North if it must be practiced. A country is already suffering from divisive politics and the FG want to make a program that directly or indirectly favours an ethnic group against others. Those who are rich enough to have cattle should be rich enough to provide independent ways of catering foe them.

UmecheMoses:
This is the silliest writeup I have read on Nairaland....

Here is why it is silly.

1. The historical antecedents of Fulani in CAR and how they went into land grabbing and gruesome murder of other tribes leading to a civil war whose adverse effects we now see in Nigeria is not unnoticed.

2. All other tribes in Nigeria have not created traditional stools of leadership for themselves and over the years seek to overturn the real traditional ruler in host communities... Your Fulani is habitually into this.

3. The level of tolerance and maturity displayed by the tribes you mentioned to outsiders is lacking among your fulani. On different occasions we have arrested few who at the slightest provocation killed or maimed their opposers over stuff as little as water.

4. The level of destruction they met to farm lands is appaling.

Yes we know that only a part of them are doing this, why haven't they been given the red treatment?

I have fulanis as friends, and may probably fall in love with one, but I am telling you RUGA is a waste of our time.

Who told you RUGA hasn't been in existence for over three decades now?

I know fulani settlements an their grazing routes in my state. Occasionally some enter farms to steal and vandalize.

My dad was nearly stabbed by one he caught harvesting his yams.

The RUGA FG wants to do is a wicked idea.

The immigrants from MALI AND CAR are not Nigerians.
Why will Buhari use monies from my tax to resettle foreigners on my land, who will one day become a tool in the hands of Political and religious bigots.

We say no to wickedness.
Create jobs,
Fix roads,

Do ranches in the north

Keep your RUGA there.

If we want wife we will come to marry,
If we want cows we will travel to buy.

Forcing a people without control and aliens on others should have called for the impeachment of this President.
It is an unpatriotic act.
TV/MoviesRe: BBNaija: Tacha 10 Years Ago Vs Now by traihit: 5:23pm On Jul 06, 2019
Let RUGA be practiced in the north to allay the insecurity of other tribes.

RUGANISTAN:
Every tribe or Ethnic group have their own unfair share of social deviants and degenerates.... the Igbos are the most business minded people out there... without basic Economics they defy all odds and prosper in any business they venture. millions of Igbos in and outside the south Eastern Nigeria are law abiding and purpose Driven. The Kidnapping for Ransom rings and Notorious Drug Cartel led by daredevil Igbo men and women operating everywhere in Nigeria, Ghana and even South Asia have not led to a National call to expel all Igbos and relegate them to the Landlocked and Famine infested region of the South East.
The Senseless ritual for fiat money killings in perpetuated by the Yorubas in the South West Nigeria is reason enough to Expel every Yoruba man and woman from every other region. The unexplained laziness of an average Yoruba man is a reason enough to contain them in the odua disease and open sewer crowded region. i am recommending an open prison in the South West. Gaza Style. Total Blockade. Before they Kill us all for Money ritual.
YES we have Criminal Fulanis... majority of Fulanis are law abiding and enterprising like the Igbos of the South East. its wrong to Suspend RUGA Because of the actions of a fragment of the Fulani population. we cant do the same think over and over again and expect a different result. We don't Learn. in 1967 over 3 million law abiding Nigerians in the then South East region were gruesomely murdered because of the Actions of Ojukwu and his band of separatist. are we going to Punish all Fulanis just because a small group of people brandishing AK47 who we don't even know for a fact if they are Nigerians? Stop the Hate. Stop the Killings.. Think about critically, RUGA will separate the real Herdsmen from the Bandits!!!!!!!

Everything currently happening in Nigeria now reflects the kind of people living in Nigeria. From politics, to religion, to marriage, business, education and so on. All our commercial institutions know that most people don't get moved by these educational stuffs compared to bbnaija and so on. Therefore, before one company will sponsor WWTBAM, 10 would have sponsored bbnaija. The best students get 10k (lucky ones) while bbnaija winner get SUV, millions and endorsement. It's all about our motivation as a people.

They're celebs, they're influencers. If all our favorite celebs talk against the greed of our leaders, Nigerians will be more sensitive and proactive to political matters. But most of what they sing is money, money, women, women, drugs etc. And that's exactly what's always trending in our society.

CelebritiesRe: Nigeria Leaders Are Greedy - Simi by traihit: 1:51pm On Jul 06, 2019
You spoke the ultimate truth. Last week I had to vent out my anger publicly over one driver from Peace who after leaving office, stopped by the roadside to pick goods for people and making 10 hours journey really inconvenient because of greed. He was so bold about it since we've already pay the money. Everywhere you go you'll see Nigerians displaying greed in their little capacities. In fact, we're guilty of our leaders more than they're guilty of us.

dulux07:
Majority of Nigerians are greedy, the leaders are just the reflection of who the people are. That's why we keep changing leaders and most times still get the same result.

I don't think this has anything to do with feminism. It's about business. You can't be using someone's pictures and tags to make more money without their permission. Whether Missguided is highly valuable or not is not even the argument, they should have approached her for a deal instead of wanting to profit by using her pictures and tags as an enticement for would-be buyers.
