The word 'genius' is just unnecessarily overused here. That a sacked employee got an appointment with a bigger organization does not imply that the employee is a genius. |
BOOOMNAIJA:There is no reason for them to indulge in what you call it became their governments already made sufficient provision for their education sector. |
OkCornel:Time to export the beauty of Africa's ancient cultures through animations...splendid! |
OkCornel:Just search for the name on YouTube. It's there. |
Watched it three nights ago and I was wowed. Perhaps Africa will make up through animation what it could not achieve through Nollywood. And again, Nigeria is playing first line here. Sango- Dawn of Thunder by Kola Olanrewaju is another great one. I'm expecting an extended version of the movie though. As for Malika, Niyi Akinmolayan has shown he's up for the game. |
PoliticalWitch:Yeah...clerks are just luxury seekers who don't like being stretched to creativity. |
Solo21213:Anyone who hates another is already a murderer because one can easily kill anyone that is hated. Be careful what you post online. |
Sabby1:Really we need to be careful how we worship God these days. Everyone need to have a PERSONAL relationship with God. We shouldn't make our service to God based on the pressures from people who may turn out as hypocrites. Every where you go, the handwriting of Jesus' end time message is just clear. |
sinola:The man is a continuous learner, and continuos learner hardly make grave mistakes. If he will end up having a fault, it will scarcely be a fault that other administrations have also had. A wise person will watch other people fall, take note of the spot and avoid the fall. Till now, Governor Makinde is showing wisdom. |
Goryous55:They are increasing in the South also, though it is unfortunate. Ebonyi and Oyo states are among the states with the highest number of out-of-school children |
Hmmmnn... Sadly, realities on ground shows that Nigeria is not ready to do that in the next 20 years. If I'm to go by the current momentum in education, by 2030 we might have more than 12 million children out of school. Schools are grossly underfunded, teaching staffs are grossly inadequate, parents in slums and rural areas are becoming more reluctant to send their children to school AND ENSURE THEY GET EDUCATED. Far from that, it's one thing to have children out of school, it's another thing to ensure children are getting educated. What we have in public schools is partial schooling and not even schooling nor education. So, Nigeria is still a joke. |
rentAcock:I don't think the government will do anything about it since most people in government are guilty of the same crime. It's really ironic when we say "God bless Nigeria" then run to America to give birth. In the end, you have generations of people who won't care if Nigeria is doomed forever since they're citizens of another country. Anyone who believes in this country will never willingly give birth outside it. |
Every time people post pictures from their state or region, it's always to tell something: "we're better than the others". If your tribe or region or state is indeed better, residents there should be living in an el-dorado. We all agree governments have failed us yet, we try to show superiority to mock how far we've suffered leadership failures. |
Any time you see threads like this on Nairaland where people are bantering one another, it's just with one goal: "we're more superior" mentality. If one tribe is indeed superior to the other, then we shouldn't be in the same shoe and suffering the same things from poor leadership. |
ZiriMane:#30? I can't even imagine someone saying they eat with that kind of amount though I'm not anywhere elitist. |
Many words classified as wrong here are just usage dependent. Else, how can 'horn' be wrong and 'honk' right when 'honking' is American English? |
ForeThinker:This picture speaks volume... |
Does that mean Tacha has now become a god? |
THEMODSARECRAZY:That tells you a lot about our aggregate values as a people, and also the reason we have the kind of leaders ruling us. Our leaders and our society are just mirrors of our aggregate individual personalities as a people. So I've given up lamenting over Nigeria's bad leaders. |
baby124:Environmental hazard you call it? I guess you grew up in one of those palatial residences hence, you might find it difficult to understand that most of these people don't find it comfortable living there. All I see there is the failure of a state. They are living hungry in the midst of plenteousness. When some of them get educated, enlightened and comfortable as you, perhaps they'd recognise the fact that the slum is indeed environmentally hazardous. |
ifymadu:I've discovered it's not just the youths alone. It might surprise you that even elderly people get themselves involved. Today, a news in the local language even reported BBN. I found it difficult to believe. All these things speak volume about our society and its moral hypocrisy. |
As an introvert, I may be shy in unprepared situations but when there's something to do and it's compulsory, I prepare myself for it though you'd notice my quietness. On meeting people, it takes me time to connect. Sometimes, you'd have to be the first person to connect with me and if I observe that we're similar, we become friends you won't want to drop (this might take some time of building trust though). As for the marriage part, I wouldn't want to marry someone as introverted as I am but I wouldn't want a lousy extroverted partner also. I don't bother myself with knowing other introverts online (though introverts have inner circle friends, we also enjoy being one man mopol). More so, it takes me more time to connect with a fellow introvert than an extraverted individual. Bottom Line: I'm an introvert but my introversion ceases when I trust you fully and when you fit in to my personality. |
favoryte33:There was never a time everyone in a population would agree that the economy is good. Yet, there's always been introverts. No matter how bad an economy is, introversion and extroversion are never endangered species. |
It is really bad. I wasn't really taking this seriously until last week when I had to reach out to some foreign universities. Most of them have a generic response to mail after which they'll properly address your message within two to three working days. Nigeria is like this not just because of our failed government, but because of a large number of people working in government agencies who don't do the right thing unless they're told. A top federal university issued a particular form to me and guess what? It was a scanned document that looks so blurry. What would it take to type it properly? Yet, ASUU keep waiting for government's remunerations as if that's the only thing impeding their advancement. |
Sunofgod:Na so e dey start. There should be a limit to the amount of contracts agencies and parastatals can sign. When the problem comes up now, it will be w national headache. |
How I wish true spirit of nationalism and patriotism will make commoners like these defy the police and still go on to protest? But alas! Religion has the strongest grip, especially the fanaticism rein of religion. |
The whites surely know how to arouse our sentiments and emotions and we keep falling for it all the time. As much as it's nice seeing other people in your own cultural lifestyle, getting excited for it is simply inferiority complex. |
I hope the Nigerian government is noting how its citizens have to go abroad to make any significant impact. We can applaud ourselves for people like this guy because he went abroad before getting to this stage. There are many more like him who'll make the world focus on Nigeria if we have a good environment. Sadly, all we have are leaders who are tribalistic for theur pockets' sake. |
From the look of things around the world right now, Nigeria is not going to split. The earlier we forget that and fight all those impeding our progress as a nation, the better for all of us. |
