While intelligence can't be judged by dressing, the fact that something is being practiced in the US or any other western nation does not mean every other country in the world must practice the same in order to be tagged 'developed countries'. Op your post is really educative and insightful. I used to get confused about my dominant use of my hands until now. I'm a lefty forced to change to using right hand for eating and writing and this has made me more ambidextrous. But seriously, I feel more confident whenever I'm using my left hand to carry our major tasks except when all eyes turn to me.
Some research suggests that the use of either right or left hand is determined by the left and right side of the brain. I guess I need to read more on this.
