arabianights:
Was in the bulk room of a first generation bank and crowd was quite bad ( yet they say no money ).There were some igbo men that had come to deposit quite an amount of money and had been conversing loudly in their dialect not caring that they were been a nuisance.
All of a sudden a white man comes in and the teller receives his cash whilst ignoring the hisses and insults of customers.

The igbo men, trust them started insulting the man and went ahead to add more in their dialect, the white man then, calmly turnsto them and responded to them in IGBO language then went on to add a few more sentences... the whole bulk room kept shut out of shock of course.I turned to him in amazement to ask him on how he learnt igbo and he smiled and responded to me fluently in HAUSA.

Apparently, he had been there before every one else but the account number was wrong and he was told he couldnt make calls in the banking hall, he then went out to make a call and wait for the right account number. On his return,hE went straight to the teller as she had assured him that when he returned ,he wouldnt have to join the queue again. The teller should have explained to all instead of ignoring customers.

Any way my point is that these white men are smatter than us, they learn our languages so as to enable themselves settle in and do business whilst most of us go to their countries and come back the same people we were when we left if not worse.
they are smarter than YOU? I am not surprised. You wrote this in which language? Inferiority complex language abi? Carry on!

If there's something that gives me joy in life, it's when I help in in my little way. Givers absolutely never lack.Life is beautiful when we help those around us . Sometimes I always winder what it will be like to have millions in my account, I may not even be happy, There remains a void in my heart when I see people living in abject poverty.

I have a true story to tell.
I happened to meet a young girl if about 12 while in school. I came home from lectures to see her moving around my hostel. I asked why she was there and she told me she needed to see one of my hostel mates who obviously is not around. From the disappointment on her face, I asked her if everything was fine. She narrated to me a story about how hungry her family was, and the fact that her mom sent her out to borrow money from my mate. I asked her to take me to her mother. It was an uncompleted building and I didn't know how somebody can live in that kind of place with grasses everywhere. I feared for snake bites as I approached the mother.I gave her quite a fairly good sum and told her not to return it . The way she thanked me sent a deep knife down my spine.I wish she never did, it made it even unbearable because it broke my heart even more As I was living the compound in a haste for fear of snakes, a iron rod dragged my leg, almost ripping off the last toe on my left feet. This woman and her daughter didn't know what to do, at some point, I noticed they were begin to feel bad, I had to hide the deep pains I was feeling. The blood trailed me back to the hostel. It was a deep wound and so I had to visit the hospital to take injections and dressings of course. For over a month, I limped. But I have no regrets. When i look at the scar on my last toe, I remember that sometimes we may get in trouble for trying to help somebody, but we must also remember that it's pays to have a beautiful mind, it soothes the soul.

"Slow Dance More"

Grady johnson was a common man
Four children and some bottom land
Early to bed he said well that ain't me
I gotta spend some time with my family

Left to it's own device may becomes june
But children grow up all too soon

So love your neighbor as yourself
Don't use money to measure wealth
Trust in God but lock your door
Buy low sell high and slow dance more

Mama johnson was grady's wife
She bore his children and she graced his life
Hand in hand and side by side
They worked hard to simplify

Some folks have and some have not
What really counts is what you do with what you've got

So love your neighbor as yourself
Don't use money to measure wealth
Trust in God but lock your door
Buy low sell high and slow dance more

And more I think I understan
What my father's father meant
When he said son what matters most
You can count on just one hand

So love your neighbor as yourself
Don't use money to measure wealth
Trust in God but lock your door
Buy low sell high and slow dance more

I will now stop giving you my time and attention. It is no longer worth it.

A few months ago, I made comment in form a protest on namepros and the president of Escrow.com saw my comment, he gave me an email to use to reach their department.

I was told what to do, I did it and after then,Nigeria was added to their list of accepted countries. That's why Nigerians can now use escrow.

As for tutoring anyone on domaining, I don't think I can do that anymore, especially for free... I think all the time spent here was a complete waste of my time. If I had ignored this thread when I saw it back in 2013, it would have died a natural death or do you see the OP here?

And please, I am not your daddy... you can ask others around here, They will definitely help you out.

Oh well... I thank God for everything.
what is wrong with you? Why are you always "fool" of yourself? Is there ever a word called humility in your dictionary? Why do you always find it difficult to help a fellow human being without thinking of what to charge him? Why do you always want people to worship you simply because you did one tiny good thing?

Who told you this thread would have died? You left some time ago and swore you are done with this thread. Did it die? Did anybody beg you to stay? When you left, were we not coping and sharing on our own? Why did you come back? Why do you think you know anything?

YOU KNOW NOTHING!!!

Stop all these childish braggadocio and lies. So disgusting.

For those who want to know why Escrow.com now accepts Nigerians...

In April this year, Freelancer.com acquired Escrow.com

Freelancer.com already has Nigerians on their platform and saw nothing wrong with that. So naturally, they extended the same courtesy to us on Escrow.com

You all should understand that such a corporate and management decision cannot be because of the sentiments and tantrums of one insignificant man, unless his cash flow is as heavy as Dangote, which I KNOW 2sex's is nothing.

I wonder what this thread would look like if 2sex had made the type of sale humble Chibenze just made. Nobody fit no talk again. Oh I remember....you have handled millions too abi? True or false, humility and selflessness are still great virtues, acquire some.

I am waiting for the time Nigerians will start receiving money with their PayPal and hear one small boy somewhere claim he is the one that made it happen. I used to regard you highly but your rep now to me is as high as a borehole. This is the same attitude you took to the freelance writing thread. Pathetic!

Nonsense by the way means No Sense.

Septre:
I thought escrow.com does not accept nigerians how were you able to by pass that policy? What percentage do they charge and who pays that percentage you or the buyer? I have registered on namepros. I want you to give me link to threads on namepros i should visit to give me good foundation in domaining. I also want link to threads on namepros i can sell domains for 2-5usd profit to build myself like you did.

If you love your hard earned money, never leave any cash on your Payoneer card.

This Payoneer card fraud business just started about 6 months ago.

They claim it's card skimming issues from Nigerian ATMs but we all know this is a flat lie.

This is an internal fraud scheme within their ranks.

If there are card skimming machines around, all my local bank cards will have been hit with the same fraudulent charges by now.

I've never had such an incident with my locally issued visa/mastercards EVER!

Needless to say I have dumped my Payoneer card.
I can't remember the last time I withdrew from an ATM with my Payoneer card. The rates @justi4jesu will give you are better than any rate you can get through the ATM. Also as good as what you will get through the black market if you choose to do wire transfer to your Dom acct.

I however leave small amounts of dollars in the Payoneer card for use in online purchases. I have nevernever had any problem with the card since December last year I started using it.

Yes? How bro? Tell me things I dnt knw abt awarding of project without setting a milestone payment...
I guess you did not read ALL the pages on this thread before you started. I suggest you do that before you make other costly mistakes.

Milestone creation is the ONLY guarantee you have that the employer will pay you after a SUCCESSFUL project. When someone awards you a project, do not accept until he or she creates a milestone. Immediately you get an award, tell the employer to create a milestone before you accept.

Just know that once you accept a FIXED PROJECT, the fees are deducted immediately, unlike HOURLY PROJECTS where fees are deducted only when the employer pays you.

If you have not submitted the first batch, tell your employer that you are waiting for the first week milestone before you will submit. Also let him or her know that you will start working on subsequent ones ONLY when you see a milestone. Do not work without a milestone. You may suffer to work and the employer will abandon you at the end of the day. This is business, not charity. A lot of crooks are on FL masquerading as employers and FL seem to side them over the workers, probably because they are the one with the money.

Now you can go and read ALL the pages. Cheers

Thanks Bro... The best way 2 learn is by learning frm our mistakes, I appreciate a lot.
I will advise you; if you truly want to develop good writing skill, drop the habit of writing in shorthand. Sms language has bastardized the way we write that many people do not realise when they use "2" instead of "to."

Make a conscious effort towards writing ONLY in good and "long" correct English. Do this everywhere - chats, sms, formal, informal etc. If you do this, over time, it would have become part of you and flow naturally.

No matter how hard you think it is, as long as you have a worthy goal, you will succeed.

Follow your employers
.
An onion seller suddenly noticed she has not seen a particular customer for a while, so she called the customer to find out if everything was okay. The customer was genuinely happy that the seller called. She also remembered HOW GOOD HER PRICES AND SERVICES were. Though she had no immediate need for onions, she told the seller that she will send her daughter to get some onions from her.

This may sound like an anecdote, but we all can learn from this. In this age and time, effective communication is about all we need to maintain any type of relationship - business and informal. We have people calling up their garri, yam, oil sellers on the phone, and telling them what they want. They will also say they won't come and collect those items by themselves, rather they will send someone. It takes a HUGE CUSTOMER SERVICE on the part of the seller to gain such TRUST

Bringing it nearer home, I will dwell on a little point that will highlight the importance of the bolded above.

How many of us are following our employers on FL? If you are not, you are missing a golden opportunity. But wait..... slow down. The hard work comes first.

Without GOOD PRICING, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, and TRUST, following your employer will not be of any benefit.

How many of us have bought an item from the market, and later saw where it was sold for 0.50k cheaper. Most times we feel we have been cheated without even checking if the QUALITY of the second item is the same as the one we bought. That is human nature.

Do you know that the gain market women make onba carton of beloxxi cream crackers is not up to N50? Why do they do this. They know they are in it FOR A LONG TIME. They know they are in a relationship-building venture. They know the only thing that can sustain them is a repeat customer. They know they can acquire many repeat customers by providing good prices, great customer services and trust.

So I ask, "how do you see your FL business?" How often have you seen a palm oil seller also selling cosmetics? As local and rustic as she may be, she knows her skill and specialization, and faces it with her full energy. Yes she knows that the restaurant woman down the road may be making more money, but she will never judge her the success of her palm oil business with the crowd in that restaurant.

I have seen many of us feel like they are wasting time with article writing because of the pay. Human nature. We've all been there. But do you realise that if you face article writing alone, and become so good at it, you can score writing projects of 100usd per 500 words. YES!! .....I know what you are thinking now. (On Freelancer?) NO!

Like ladywriter always say, article writing is like getting one's feet wet on FL. You are learning a whole business. You are learning pricing mechanics, customer service, skill development, international trade and finance etc. It is like any brick and mortar business.

You have American employers, how many of them did you send greetings on July 4? Or you do not even know what July 4 means to Americans?

If you do not want to get frustrated, have a realistic expectation. Do you know it takes some businesses from 6 to 12 months to break even, not to talk of profit? Patience man......patience woman. Rome was not built in a day. Do not take on skills you do not have passion for, just because you see someone making big from it. You may never be as successful. That person may have started 2 years ago. Pasion kept him that long. Are you willing to do it for 2 years before attaining that person's current success?

By all means, learn new skills. But make sure you are passionate in all. Passion is the only thing that will make you go the extra mile in satisfying your employers. Passion is the only thing that will keep you going when no jobs are forthcoming.

Following.

I may seem to have veered from the main thing I wanted to point out here, but all I have said so far MUST be realized before you can benefit from following your employer.

Once an employer you are following posts a new project, you will get a notification in your email with respect to that. FL will always tell us that our chances of getting hired by a former employer is very much higher than that of someone we have never worked for before.

Once you get the email alert, quickly check the project to see if it is within your skill and ability. If it is, then bid. This is where your integrity as a seller will either make you or mar you. If you have satisfied the employer previously, your chance of getting selected is high. If not, to your tents.......

I did a job for someone earlier this year. It was a Master's degree thesis. He wanted me to reduce the plagiarism content to less than 10% using Turnitin plagiarism tool. Only about 30% of the whole thesis was affected so it wasn't really a big deal. At my former rate of 2usd/500 words then, the worth of the project shouldn't be more than 50usd, and I could have finished it under 5 days. He simply told me he needed it in 2 weeks and offerred 80usd.

I did it in7 days, submitted it on the 10th day beating his expectations. His feedback was out of this world. We struck a good rapport.

He disappeared from my radar, and just last Monday, he posted a new project. I got the email alert and saw it was something I could do.

I decided not to bid. I rather elected to chat with him instead. (Please note that I have been sending hellos to him for months but no reply).

I started the chat and he was so happy. He immediately told me he just posted a project. He shared the details with me and asked if I can take it up though he only has 25usd budgeted for it. This is a simple proofreading of about 1000words job application letter.

He wanted it in 24 hours. I delivered in less than 11 hours.

They say, "Think outside the box."

I say, "Think like there is NO box."

Shalom.

.
PS: Pardon any typo or grammatical blunders above. As there is no milestone set here, I refuse to accept its proofreading.
I first posted this on August 14, 2015. Page 97

Repeated for the benefit of all. 3 months down the line, it is still evergreen.

Read and glean.

Shalom.
