Christianity EtcThief: Wrong Accusation by Treash(op): 12:55pm On Oct 18, 2015
About three phones have gone missing in our room in the past five months. When we reported to the School's security, they only told us that it was a roommate that is responsible. Everyone of us in the room was waiting for the day we will catch the culprit. Last Tuesday, when we were all asleep; I think it was about 2 am, Ben woke up suddenly and his phone was gone. His phone was the most expensive of us all. When Ben woke up and couldn't find his phone, he sprang up from the bed and quickly opened his cupboard. He rummaged the contents, even removed his clothes but could still not find the phone. I was in the room when it happened; sitting and reading before I dozed off with my heading resting on my books. So when Ben couldn't find his phone, he gently shook my shoulders until I woke up. 'It has happened again', he told me. I didn't even need to ask what happened as I could see the panic and loss written in his eyes. This is the second time his phone had been stolen. So I took my phone and dialed Ben's number; just to be sure it had not been misplaced. 'Error in Connection' was what I saw on the screen of my phone. I dialed it again and it started ringing not just on my phone, but the actual ring tone of Ben's Samsung phone was faintly audible. We were both surprised when we heard the tone. I beckoned on Ben to keep quiet as he was visibly ready to 'finish' the person who took his phone. I continued dialing as we moved silently, following the direction of the ring tone. There were four bunks in the room, each with two bed spaces. Ben and I use the same bunk just beside the door and the sound was coming from the last bunk at the extreme left corner. We tiptoed, Ben and I, like Jack Baeur until we traced the sound to the top bed space on the last bunk. 'So it is John who had been stealing phones in this room'. Ben whispered to me. We shook his leg and woke him up only to find out it was not John sleeping on the mattress. Neither of us had ever seen the guy before. To make matters worse, the ringing was coming from the bag he was using as pillow. When he woke up, he looked at us strangely as if he didn't know why we were there. We opened the bag and found not just Ben's Samsung, but three other phones. 'So, you are the one who's been stealing our phones!'; Ben shouted at him. Before he could find an excuse, Ben slapped him on his left cheek and walked out looking for anything to break one or two of the guy's bones. I don't know; but there was something about the guy. So I asked him, 'Oga, what are you doing here?' 'What are you doing with Ben's phone'. He was just looking at me without saying anything, so I slapped his right cheek with my left hand. 'ANSWER ME!', I screamed at him; waking up the roommates who were around. John had obviously gone to night class to read and I assumed the other three roommates who were absent had also gone to read. The two guys remaining in the room with me and Ben came and gave their own round of slaps. The accused was now staggering when Ben came back with a long wood hard enough to kill the guy. As he raised it up, the three of us, the roommates, held his hands so he wouldn't murder the accused. Ben dropped the wood and swept his right leg against the thief's legs and he fell down. Ben had told me before that he had attended the Soldiers' recruitment training but failed the medical test. I believed him right then. I looked at the guy crumple on the floor and before Ben killed him, I decided to interview him, at least to know who he is. He was now sitting on the ground where he landed from Ben's force. 'Who are you?' I asked him again; this time gently. He was crying but it was only the tears that were coming out. It was then I realized he had not even uttered a word since it all started. Not even when he fell to the ground. 'Why are you in our room'? I asked again. 'Can you even talk?' He shook his head then. I was now confused. Why was he shaking his head? So, I asked again, 'Can't you tal k?' He shook his head again. 'Wait, is it that this guy is dumb?', I asked the guys. The guy then nodded his head and pointed to his mouth and then shook his head left to right. It hit me then. The guy is dumb but not deaf. That was the first time I am seeing a case like that. My anger changed to pity immediately. 'Are you dumb?', I ashamedly asked the guy to confirm. Again, he nodded his head. 'Can you read and write?' He nodded again. 'Get me a pen and note!' I said to my roommates over my shoulder. I collected the pen and wrote on the note, 'Who are you? Explain yourself.' I was almost in tears as I read his fine handwriting, 'My name is James, I am John's elder brother. I am a student of Delta State University. I was traveling to Delta but our bus stopped for the night at Benin. So I decided to sleep with my brother till tomorrow morning. He brought me here around 12 am and went out to night class to read. He gave me the bag to keep for him. So I decided to use it as pillow so that it won't be stolen'. I held the note with the guys at my back as all of us read it. I became so weak I almost fell. 'The guy is innocent.' I needlessly announced. When we realized this, even I was ashamed of myself. Ben just stood there with the wood he almost used to hit him, looking as if he was the one who had been beaten. I am not sure, but I think I saw tears in his eyes as he realized he had just punished an innocent man. So we knelt down; Ben and I, we knelt down and clasped our hands so he will know we were really sorry. With tears in our eyes, we told him, 'We are sorry. Sorry for accusing you wrongly and beating you for it'. The dumb guy just smiled with bleeding lips from the blow I gave him. He smiled and looked into our eyes. And I could see pity in his eyes. He smiled and shook his head and then wrote in the same paper. 'It is Alright. I took the pain willingly. Please don't beat my brother anymore. I knew why you were beating me. John had always been a thief, right from home. But please don't report or beat him again'. Tears dropped from my eyes as I read his sacrifice. He deliberately allowed us beat him just so that John will be free. I lend my hand and raised him up as I used my cloth to wipe the tears from his face and blood from his lips. It was then my own tears flowed from the corners of my eyes. .. Although this story is 100% fiction, this is what Jesus did for us on the cross of calvary. kept quiet and even died so that we can be saved. He never protested his innocence but bore it all for us. He gave his life for you. What have you given for him?

CrimeFather Rapes Daughter, Impregnates Neighbour by Treash(op): 7:11pm On Sep 27, 2015
A 46-year-old man, Morris Ndidwe, has allegedly raped his 11-year-old daughter and impregnated a neighbour’s daughter in Delta State. The man has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command. Ndidwe, according to his wife, had made several attempts of having carnal knowledge of his 11-year-old daughter in the past before the last one that landed him in police net. His wife claimed that her husband’s behaviour had made her quit the marriage initially and that she only returned after several appeals and an assurance that he had repented from his ways. She said she had initially moved out of her matrimonal home after her husband impregnated their neighbour’s daughter. She said, “My daughter told me what she went through in the hand of her father whenever I was not around and when confronted, my husband denied, saying, he had stopped the act . “One afternoon, I returned from church and caught him with our daughter. Again after much pleading, I relented on my resolve to quit the marriage.” The last straw that broke the camel’s back, according to the wife, was the event that transpired last week. Ndidwe’s wife said, “Last week, around 9pm, my husband drove me to the church for a vigil. He was alone with our children. The following day when I returned, my daughter told me what her father did to her. When I decided to check her private part my husband refused and almost beat me, but my neighbours intervened.” But the 11-year-old girl (names withheld) has asked the police to prosecute her father saying she wanted to see him jailed because he might do worse things to her. Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the state police commissioner, Alkali Baba Usma, said he had made useful statements to the police. Meanwhile, a middle-aged man who reportedly went to visit his female friend at Agidaese Street, in Ogwashi- Uku Community of the state was said to have died on Friday. The man, according to sources, slumped in his girlfriend’s room after a marathon sexual intercourse and died on the spot. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs.Celestina Kalu, confirmed that the woman had been arrested by police in Ogwashi-Uku while the body of the victim had been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.

CrimeAngry Man Breaks Popular Oap’s Head For Having Affair With His Wife (photo) by Treash(op): 6:35pm On Sep 10, 2015
Mr Soji Omotayo, an OAP with Faaji
FM, an affiliate of Africa Independent
Television, was attacked with a
machete by a jealous husband over
allegations of having an affair with his
wife.
The furious husband, Kunle (surname
withheld), attacked Omotayo on
August 22. Omotayo said that he was
surprised by the attack because he
and Kunle had been doing business
together for years. Kunle was said to
have lured the victim to his house at
Sango on that fateful day, saying that
he had secured a ‘publicity job’ for
him.
Omotayo and his Personal Assistant
got to Kunle’s house around 8am and
called him on the phone that they
were already at his gate. The radio
presenter left his PA inside his car and
went to meet his supposed
benefactor. He said:
I was ushered into his living
room. When I entered, I met his
daughter and wife there.
They greeted me and left the
living room. I noticed that he
locked the door, but did not
remove the key from the keyhole.
The man then asked me if my wife
was in Nigeria and I said yes. He
told me to call her that he just
wanted to say hello to her.
What shocked me most was that
after he collected the phone from
me, he told my wife he purposely
invited me to his house just to kill
me. He told my wife that I was
dating his wife.
Omotayo said that before he knew
what was happening, Kunle had
pocketed his phone and brought out
a sharp machete from his trousers.
Kunle allegedly inflicted cuts on
Omotayo’s head, arm and stomach.
Omotayo said:
“I started shouting for help.
Before I knew what was
happening, another machete
landed on my stomach.
I struggled with him to take
possession of the machete. I
pushed him away before I was
able to open the door and locked
him inside.
Some of the residents gathered at
the gate to see what was
happening.
My PA and his wife joined in
calling for help. People rushed
into the compound. Among the
people that rushed to his house
was Alhaji Moruf Alagbe, who
invited policemen from Onipanu
Police Station, near Obasanjo
Farms in Ota.
The policemen took me to their
station alongside the suspect.
Omotayo said that he was rushed to
the hospital by one Inspector Liasu
from the police station, where his
head was stitched.
He added:
Other parts of my body where I
sustained injuries were treated. I
was then brought back to the
station, where some family
members of the culprit had
gathered.
They begged me for settlement,
but I told the Divisional Police
Officer (DPO) that what I wanted
was justice.
According to Omotayo, when he
reported to the station the
following day, he was shocked to
discover that Kunle had been
granted bail. The case was later
transferred to Zone 2 Police
Command, Onikan, Lagos State
for further investigations.
All attempts to hear kunle’s side of the
story proved abortive.

CrimeCustoms Impounds N9.768m Poultry Products by Treash(op): 12:06pm On Sep 10, 2015
THE Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Western Marine Command (WMC), has impounded a 1,583 cartons of frozen poultry products valued at over N9.8 million. The Customs Area Controller of the command, Yusuf Umar, who disclosed this Tuesday in Lagos, said the command collaborated with the Nigerian Army to dislodge the smugglers that barricaded the Lagos- Badagry and Idi Iroko roads in an attempt to prevent the Customs officers from evacuating the seized goods. He extolled his officers and men, especially those working in the operations and intelligence units, for swinging into action before the smugglers could escape with the consignment. Umar noted that since the launch of Operation Hawk Descend by the Customs headquarters last July, a special anti- smuggling operation against frozen poultry, his command has made a total seizure of 6,668 cartons of the contraband. “That figure is about the highest in the country. As we destroyed these products in the presence of officials of NAFDAC, DSS, the Nigeria Police and journalists, I want to reiterate that the WMC, under my watch, will not tolerate smuggling and other vices that will cripple the economy and increase crimes.

PoliticsNIMC Registers 160,000 In Plateau by Treash(op): 4:14pm On Sep 09, 2015
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) on Wednesday said that it had so far registered 160,000 persons, out of the 1.7 million eligible for the exercise in Plateau. The state’s NIMC Coordinator, Mr Paul Gofwan, made this known while interacting with traditional rulers and local government chairmen in Jos. According to him, the low number is due to the non-take off of NIMC’s offices in some local government areas in the state. ”The state office in Plateau commenced enrollment in January 2013; subsequently, other centres in local governments like Jos South, Jos South, Bokkos, Pankshin, Kanke have commenced the exercise. ”Other centres include Government House, Jos, Nigerian Air Force base, Jos, police headquarters, prison headquarters, Jos, Plateau State Polytechnic and University of Jos,” he said. The official said that approvals had been given for new registration centres in Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Quan’Pan and Bassa. He said these centres are currently awaiting supply of equipment, adding that other centres in Shendam, Mangu, Mikang, Ease and in Jos North will soon be approved. Gofwan assured that with the expected coming on stream of the aforementioned centres, appreciable progress would be made in the exercise. The state coordinator emphasized that the registration would be a continuous process and there was no closing date as being rumoured. “However, a date for the implementation of the regulation on the mandatory use of the National Identity Number (NIN) has been fixed for January 9, 2016. “Beginning from that date, certain transactions will be become impossible without the use of NIN. “Transactions like account opening in banks, obtaining driver license, international passports, NHIS services and even land deals among others,” he said. According to him, the database that will be generated could be used for security checks, economic empowerment, as well as for planning and growth purposes. He appealed for cooperation from state and local governments as well as traditional rulers for a successful registration. The Gbong Gwom Jos, Jacob Gyang Buba, who chaired the interaction, observed that many people would not be registered before implementation. Buba blamed the planning of NIMC, and expressed surprise that the programme that started since 2013, had registered only 160,000. “If it took your organisation two years to capture 160,000 people, one wonders how long it will take you to capture the remaining people. Certainly not in the next four month. “The time is not feasible; the commission should consider reviewing date. Many people have not registered because you are yet to even set up offices in local government areas,” he said. The Gbong Gwom said that the traditional council, in collaboration with council chairmen, would present their case to the commission’s DG. Chairman, Pankshin Local Government, Mr Stephen Jings, in his remarks, advised the commission to collaborate with Independent National Electoral Commission to ease their job. (NAN).

PoliticsMilitary Frees 128 Detainees In Borno. by Treash(op): 3:50pm On Sep 09, 2015
The Nigerian Army on Wednesday released 128 detainees after certifying that they had no link with the Boko Haram terrorists group in Borno.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai handed over the detainees to Gov. Kashim Shettima at a ceremony in Maiduguri.

He said that the detainees included 109 men, seven women, 11 boys and one unattached teenager.

He said that they were arrested at different parts of the state by the military in its anti-terrorism campaign.

Buratai said that after thorough screening by a team of military intelligence officers, the police and the Department of State Security Service (DSS), the suspects were found to be clean and were released.

“The task of Operation Lafiya Dole can be seen in three terms – to defeat the insurgents, to facilitate humanitarian activities and observe human right and restore the administrative functions in the liberated area.

“We are here to formally hand over those arrested in the process of our operations; we are pleased to hand over the 128 suspects that have been cleared by the joint intelligent core, which comprised the Army, the police and DSS,” he said.

The COAS said that the action was an indication that the military was made up of highly trained officers, who believed in observing human right.

“This is clear manifestation that the army is clearly professional,” Buratai declared and expressed optimism that the Boko Haram terrorism would soon come to an end.

“We will continue to emphasis that this terrorism will soon come to an end.

“We have been supported by President Muhammadu Buhari; we are getting more equipment and we are getting more of our troops redeployed to the operation,” he said.

He commended the Borno government for its support for the military in the anti-terrorism war.

The military had, earlier on July 6, freed 182 suspects, after a team of investigators cleared them of involvement with the group.

RomanceMy Father-in-law Wants My Virginity Before Approving Our Wedding by Treash(op): 11:58am On Sep 03, 2015
I am an ardent reader of your website, dailypost.ng, especially the true confession page, which you suddenly stopped. Please help me out. I am like between the devil and the deep blue sea. My name is Elinna, I would want my surname to remain anonymous for obvious reason. I am from Plateau State. Still in my mid 20s I have been dating this guy for five years now and I would love to spend the rest of my life with him. He’s my kind of guy. Aside his handsomeness, he’s godly and sincere. I just returned to the country from Ukraine where I went to complete my masters programme on ICT. Last month, my man took me to his family house for the first time to introduce me officially to his parents and other family members as his wife- to-be. His people were happy to see me, especially the mother. The few days I spent there, I noticed she was the kind of woman every girl would want to have as mother in-law. She’s friendly and a disciplinarian to the core. However, the husband (my father in- law to be) is the opposite. He doesn’t laugh and he is very economical with his words. On leaving their family house in the east, I exchanged contact with the parents and the dad promised to give me a call the following week when he gets to Jos. On reaching Jos, he asked me to meet him at a popular hotel inside the town. When I got there, he started asking me some funny questions about my private life. He asked if I was still a virgin. I told him yes. He asked if I have kissed his son, I said yes. He doubted and asked me to prove if I was still a virgin, but I told him his son would confirm to him once we are married, that I had made a covenant with my God not to give out my pride to any man other than my husband. He insisted that he wanted to test me to be sure I was truly a virgin before he would approve the marriage. He anchored his reason on the fact that he doesn’t want his son to marry a ‘spoiled girl.’ All my efforts to make him believe I am still a virgin were fruitless as he insisted on knowing my status or no marriage. He tried to force me to bed but I escaped after biting his right arm. Now, he said the possibility of my getting married to his son lies in my virginity. I am afraid of telling my fiance (his son) this because he won’t believe me. I am confused, I don’t want to lose my man and I don’t want to lose my pride as well. I don’t know if this is a family set up to test my integrity or the man is up to something mischievous. Please help me out, I’m confused.

To my mind, the man has no locus simply because by virtue of Section 6(6)(c) of the 1999 Constitution, the Court is not under obligation to compel any body to fulfil the Oath of Allegiance in any respect. It means for example if d govt promises free education; and they fail, u cant sue them. Read the entirety of Sections 6, 13-24 of the 1999 Constitution.

RomancePLS HELP ME!!! My Boyfriend’s Father Is Very Good In The Bedroom. by Treash(op): 10:30pm On Aug 24, 2015
I know that this is not
something that many ladies want to
talk about even though they are in the
same situation but am matured, I no
my left from my right and I want your
readers to see things from my own
point of view.
My story is brief and straight to the
point:
I’m a 38yr old lady who is
independent but I regret not getting
married in my mid and late 20s when
men were in serious demand for my
hand in marriage. I kept saying I was
not ready and now I blame myself for
all the shit I’m facing after I turned 33
five years ago.
But I met this young guy, he’s 30yr
old. I love him and I told him my real
age and he’s ok with it, maybe
because I spend my money on him.
Fast forward to last December, I met
his father and one thing led to
another and the man passed a night
in my apartment. It was very hot! He
performed far better than his son in
bed… My boyfriend’s father is 57,
divorced and he is madly in love with
me.
He even give me money to increase
my biz not like his son who collects
from me. The man is ready to marry
me but my problem is that I’ve slept
with his son and I still do it with him
once in a while just to satisfy him so
he doesn’t suspect his father.
But I can’t continue to sleep with
father and son. I’m enjoying the
father’s “juice” more.
Pls what can I do?

Celebrities“why I Married An Ugly Man” - Star Actress, Mide Funmi Martins by Treash(op): 10:35am On Aug 22, 2015
.com/talk/topic,271762.0.html,
Star actress, Mide Funmi Martins has explained why he chose to marry a man who is low to her standard in terms of beauty. For over 13 years, Mide has been marrying to the love of his heart, Afeez Abiodun Owo who is also an actor. In a recent interview, when Mide was asked on how she copes with all the pressures put on her marriage with rumours that it has crashed, the pretty babe said,” I am used to it by now. People have been saying a lot. I don’t know what to say again, I have said it so many times before. My husband and I are still together. He is always with me. He is everything to me. I don’t just know why people keep having problems with my marriage”. She further narrated that, “I know that people are saying that because they can’t reconcile how a fine girl like me will be married to someone who is not as fine as I am. Yes, I thought of that and that is the reason why people keep wishing us bad. And they have been saying it right from the onset, that haaa! Their marriage can’t last. They don’t match. They are not perfect match. They don’t fit. “haa omo yen ti fine ju loo, some say Ogun lo lo fun and I said its impossible. How can someone use juju on you for over 13 years. I have 2 kids with him. I love my family. I love my husband. I am not saying I am not pretty. It is obvious that I am pretty. But I love him like that. Love is not about being beautiful or being handsome. I might marry the most handsome man in the world and I might not be happy with him. That is one thing people don’t understand about relationships. I am happy with my husband and that is the only thing that matters in marriage. When you are happy and everything is going on well, please what else do you want? So, I am happy with him and fine with him. I love him just the way he is. People should try and understand that”.

@op,

When I tell you my own story you gonna cry for me. But I would strongly advice that you allow her go. There is a saying, if woman never marry 2 husband she never know the difference. Make she go taste. Maybe you don't have a job, or you struggling to be a big man, but she doesn't have time for you. No problem, behave like it's fine.
Maybe you haven't been cheated on, you go try hear her out she use you do maga, even come day frustrate you, come day play hard to get. My own story go shock you, but let her go. I promise you, the love you get for her may not fade away, but the truth is, when you let her go, let her make the decisions herself, when she tastes her second boyfriend now and she sees differently, let her taste the third. Then that time her head go correct finally.

When you are settled. Settle down with a girl who will respect your emotions and value. She may not be here, so if I were you, I'd make bigger plans. Let her go, re organise your life for someone better , travel out and look for them (if possible), by the time you blend with people, you definitely will see someone you would call your girlfriend and wife. Time will tell, mark my words, she's gonna start calling you again soon.

Ladies love the wrong guys, and when they make the mistakes, they start looking for the right ones.
Chai. Am most inspired by this. Tnks so much my brother.

Firstly if she is in to you without asking for her friend phone number she will give it to you by herself , and secondly judging from your last statement you have sent away a lot of promising ladies who truly love you....because of her you ignored them...My advise for you bro concentrate on your service and at God appointed you will find some body that will accept you and appreciate you for who you are ...Because you seems to love this girl but according your explanation mom gave 12k and you 5k and yet she doesn't have a phone its just a simple way to cut off with you....If you continue to feel bad because she didn't get across to you i am telling you everyday you will end yuor day with bad mood and if it continue this way it might cost you a lot of important thing you needed most than her self.
Tnks for dat bro. I wl do as u said. I tink guys understand me better.
