I don't see anyone mentioning interaction with the end users. they're the ones you're developing for, and should be a part of your overall development process.  There are 3 different types of testing, there's unit testing, which you do yourself, user acceptance testing, and system integration testing where you test how much integration to an existing system will cost (cost analysis, risk analysis, etc), since all development is supposed to be done in a cloned test environment, and then there's post implementation review (6 months post production)

Developing software is not just programming, it's part of an information system, and as such the human factor should always remain priority. End users resent developers who leave them out of the development a new system, and usually reject it no matter how good it is and stick to their old system if they don't feel included, or if no steps are taken to ensure that the solution is user friendly.

We should always remember that the end result is customer satisfaction.

I disagree completely with us making a fuss because Akon was born in Africa, we couldn't give a hoot.  Trinis just like to fete and enjoy themselves and get their money's worth.

I can't speak for every concert, but this type of behaviour ON STAGE by a foreign performer is UNPRECEDENTED IN THIS COUNTRY.  That's just a pure lie.

Never on stage. Back stage, off stage, at the after party, wherever, anything could have happened.  But a professional artiste knows the limits and doesn't carry on like that for the world to see.

Trinidad has too many races and cultures to just dislike Akon based on the fact that he's from Africa.  In fact we see him as African American. I personally see him as a fraud!

And i don't know about this subtle dislike for Africans at all.  But I do know that when you mention a Nigerian here the immediate reaction is a raised eyebrow  followed by "a Nigerian!! lawd have mercy, them people aint easy, watch yuhself"

I personally know a few Nigerians, 2 guys from Cameroon and a few from Guinea who live here, and personally, well, let's just say there are distinct differences in cultures and belief systems and behaviour

The ladies then start dancing on stage to "Smack That" and the winner is a pretty trini girl in a red top.
