TV/Movies / Re: Tchidi Chikere (a Nigerian Director) by trinigirl1(f): 7:48pm On Mar 07, 2009 |
I'm from Trinidad and Tobago and I watch a LOT of Nigerian movies. Tchidi Chikere is the future of the Nollywood film industry. I hope he never tires in his efforts because they produce excellent results. What quality! Great script! Great story lines! Great acting! All other writers/producers should be his understudy. He's intelligent, attractive, and I even love that he acts in his movies. I absolutely love this man's work! I can go on and on , "Native Son", have a look |

Nairaland / General / Re: Authentic African Black Soap Vs Fake by trinigirl1(f): 11:42am On Feb 21, 2009 |
ok I've done some research and the truth is that there are different types of black soap. they're all natural, some are good some not so good. the ingredients are sometimes different. thanks for all your responses! :-) the one in the link is the one I now use, and the website also has different types by different manufacturers. This one works great for me, keeps acne away and my skin is no longer overly oily but glowing. It has shea butter in it. I also wash my hair with it. http://www.afrikanrepublic.com/pd_baby_powder_black.cfm |

Hi Guys, I'm not sure this is in the right forum but there's no Beauty forum here. In Trinidad we get an African Black Soap that's made in Nigeria. But I've been reading that it may be a fake one we're getting here. Can anyone tell me, or show me the real authentic afrcian black soap brands that I should be using? Much appreciated! |
Religion / Re: The Unbiblical Practice Of Altar Calls & The Sinner's Prayer by trinigirl1(f): 2:49pm On Dec 10, 2008 |
Yes yes yes yes yes! Thank you Je Soul. This has been a belief of mine for some time now. Every knows how anti-religion I am and always translates it to me being anti-God. However there are so many things the "church" has made up for themselves in order to trap people into church membership and manipulate them into what they say salvation and the path the heaven (including tithing) that are absolute rubbish. I totally agree that this practice is unscriptural when the bible simply states believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you'll be saved, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. KUDOS! |

TV/Movies / Re: 80% Of Nollywood Films Are Wack by trinigirl1(f): 1:12am On Sep 13, 2007 |
@ jesoul lol!! tell me about it! i know what u mean. but i must say there are a few movies that were actually given some thought. i actually like Patience Ozokwor, she is an excellent actress and i look for movies that she is in. I like The Evangelist 1 and 2. I also liked Face Me I Face You. but the majority of movies are so low quality, low budget and rotate the same actors and actresses it becomes a bore to watch. i wish someday Nollywood could be as big and better than Bollywood. |
Romance / How Do Men Want To Be Loved? by trinigirl1(f): 11:48pm On Sep 12, 2007 |
I have a burning question. Every now and then my man asks me "Why do you love me"? And honestly, I'm stumped, because I love him unconditionally, not because he does anything for me, just for who he is, good and bad. So I give him one thing I admire about him, like I might say "I love you because you're strong, you're a survivor, and you always manage to make any difficult situation still work in your favour in the end". He just gets quiet, and I'm not quite sure what he's thinking. Please tell me, is there a particular way a man wants to be loved/seen by his woman? |
Programming / Business Objects Connectivity To Oracle Rdb Database Issue by trinigirl1(f): 11:58am On Jul 03, 2007 |
Hi, I'm using an Oracle RDB ODBC driver to connect to an Oracle database that extracts data from a system that was built using Focus. The connection is testing successfully, however when I view the table values each column has pure gibberish, and of course, if i run a report all the columns come up blank. Now I tried using different types of middleware provided by BO, namely the Generic and Oracle 9 and 10. They all have the same result. I'm sure it's a BO issue, becuase I have Crystal 10 installed and ran a report using the same ODBC and the results were successful. However I prefer to use BO for this particular report. If anyone is familiar with developing BO universes using Designer, any suggestions as to why this is happening in BO and how I can have it resolved would be much appreciated. Thanks |

Romance / Re: My Workaholic Boyfriend Is Always Working by trinigirl1(f): 11:48pm On Jun 25, 2007 |
Well my new boyfriend is a business owner. Recently he's gotten some new contracts and since then it seems like I never see him anymore. At the beginning I thought he was losing interest or had someone else. But he opens up to me more and more, always answers his phone even when he's busy and tries his best to call me whenever possible. He's been very patient with me. So in return, I give him his space, understand that what he's doing is honourable and worthy of respect, and I support him as much as I can by making his burden easier. I cook for him and take it to his job. I buy him vitamins and supplements to ensure he keeps up his strength. I don't nag or complain about needing attention. Although some days he can hear it in my voice and he would say "I know it feels like I've been neglecting you, I know you need attention. I just have to work. When I see you, you will know." He doesn't get into much emotional talk, but I know what he means Whenever we talk I try to keep it upbeat, because I know he has enough stress on the job. Every morning, I send him a text message telling him how wonderful he is and how happy I am to be in his life, or I call to tell him have a productive day. One day I didnt send any, because I thought it was no big deal to him. He call me a few hours later and said "Hi! I didn't get any text message today. What happened? " So far, I'm seeing the benefits. Although it has not been easy (harder on me than on him), I feel us getting closer. He doesn't pull away, but he comes closer to me, and the quality time we spend together when we finally see each other is much much better. Men don't think like women. When you nag they shut down emotionally. They respond to voids (silence, ignoring them). They begin to wonder what's wrong when you stop talking. If you want to get his attention and feel neglected, try these little tricks (in moderation) They work for me 1. Stop being available for a little while - example, sometimes when he calls, I don't answer my phone, or I turn it off (drives him crazy) . Or, stop doing things he's grown accostumed to, like me cooking and taking it to his office. He'll notice and wonder what's going on. 2. When he calls, don't complain, pout. Give him short answers like "Okay" "Fine" "No problem" "Yes" "I'm fine!" "Bye". Believe me, just the change of the tone of your voice from sweet loving and accomodating, to stone cold works better than a whiny "You don't spend time with me anymoorrrrrre" 3. Agree with him. When the two of you get into an argument and he says things like "LOOK! You know what? I'm not coming to see you today. I was going to, but I won't!" . Ladies, what do you say? "FINE! I AGREE! DON'T COME!!" See if he will not cool down like cold soup and say "What?? Ok ok honey, I'm sorry ok? I'll see you later." 4. Go out with your friends and mention by the way to him there's a guy who's single and interested in you in the group. (He won't stop asking questions - who is this guy? where did you meet him? what does he look like? who else is going to this party?) Remember that as a workaholic (assuming that nothing is wrong with your relationship), he has enough stress as it is, a woman is supposed to add positive things to his life, and he will value that, even if he doesn't say it in words. His actions will tell you, as he compromises and tries to work you into his life as well. |

nigeria1: nigeria1 Apart from using this forum to promote your silly little website, I don't see your purpose. You add nothing to this thread. What you have shown though in increasing measure, is your enormous capacity for assinine arrogance and by extension ignorance by every foolish utterance and poorly constructed contribution. Since even though more than one person showed you how to spell a simple word like inheritance you couldn't even copy and paste it correctly. Seun is doing quite well to ignore you and not keep the company of critical narcisstic fools. No one here cares to prove anything to you, we are mature adults. Perhaps you should try the "Games" forum. |

i think nigeria1 overestimates himself and his abilities. nigeria1: I'm assuming here that you meant to type INHERITANCE? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Perhaps along with all your "class" learning for programming you should incorporate proper grammer and penmanship as well. No class can teach you the intricacies of ADO DB, PHP, JAVA etc. However, they can teach the principles of coding, how to write good code (code structre, commenting etc). Even when you pay to learn these languages it is IMPOSSIBLE to teach every single thing that you encounter as a coder on a daily basis. That's why the have verion controls, updates and support documentation to fix errors etc. A person can have a B Sc, come into the work environment and not know diddly squat about the how to do what they need to do. So please, you assume too much and are coming off as knowing very little. You think professional hackers went to Hackers College? Information Technology is such a dynamic and ever changing field of study that it's impossible to know all within the confines of a degree. Not discounting the importance of a formal qualification, but it all depends on your own personal goals, and your personal aptitude, intelligence and displine to succeed as a coder/programmer. |

Drusilla: Smoking is not a sin. However, knowing that it's not healthy for your body, common sense dictates you shouldn't do it. Prescription marijuana is administered in tablet form, not the raw herb to be smoked |

otuwe: Folly!! You are contracdicting yourself, because re-incarnation is based on the belief that THE SPIRIT NEVER DIES, but re - incarnates (comes into flesh) over and over again to perfection, since the flesh is temporal. My dear, the spirit and soul are eternal. You are confused. The physical body dies and rots. In the case of Lazarus, let's stretch and say that his flesh, although dead, was repossessed by his own spirit, thus awakening the flesh again. Jesus is more than able to do these things and greater. You have some points correct, for example, the flesh you see is not the real you. However, you seem to have more questions than answers. Return when you've read some more books. |
Religion / Re: Reincarnation by trinigirl1(f): 6:26pm On Jun 21, 2007 |
First of all Otuwe, ELIJAH NEVER DIED! 2 Kings 2:11: "As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind." The fact that Elijah's entire soul and body went up to heaven left the belief that he could return to earth. Not reincarnated, but as HIMSELF. Therefore it was normal to ask Jesus this question. It was NOT based on the belief of reincarnation. So if this is the basis for your belief, I suggest you revisit your convictions and return with more compelling evidence. |

donmayor: Sex before marriage is not forbidden in the Bible, please quote scripture to support this position. There is none. Fornication is not sex between two partners intending to get married. It is sex with prostitutes and incestuous and homosexual relationships |

efuah: Efuah, For the sake of impressionable individuals who may read this thread I must ask you to expatiate on this ungodly and erroneous contribution. Please show us scripture to back up your claim that getting pregnant for your fiance is forbidden and getting married to your fiance while pregnant evokes the wrath of God so harsly that he "turns his back on you when you need him most" I wonder then what Jesus meant when He promised that He would never leave us or forsake us? |
Religion / Re: A Christian Sister Pregnant Before The Wedding: Is It Right? by trinigirl1(f): 5:52pm On Jun 21, 2007 |
Bensogie: I think that anyone who is so quick to judge and condemn someone else for doing the right thing must have at least 100 skeletons of wrong doings in their own closet. Before you scorn and talk about the grain of sand in your sister's eye, remove the gravel stones from yours and save your disappointment for yourself! So what if the girl was pregnant! They are already married and the church ceremony is just a public declaration in the eyes of God and man of this union. Nonsense! In your opinion please tell me, what is a Christian supposed to be like. I'd love to hear. |

Are we still debating this tithe issue? I can't believe it. I'm quite sure it was established that tithing is not for today's body of Christ, and those who do so are walking in error? |
