I never thought a day would come when 2.2 graduates would regard their degrees as worthless. 2.2 is as typical as it gets for a university degree in Nigeria - and most countries for that matter. If there is no hope for 2.2 graduates, then the labour market in its entirety is hopeless.

I predict that things would get even worse. The corruption and nepotism that is so prevalent in the employment process (which some people gleefully regard as manifestations of 'favour') have destroyed the credibility of the labour market. No student wants to study hard, LEARN, and make good grades anymore; they all prefer to chase 'connections' instead, since they rightly believe that that is the only thing that matters. The future looks very bleak for critical sectors that would drive Nigeria's development - both public and private. A workforce dominated by incompetent oafs employed through 'favour' or 'connections' does not bode well for any country's development in the long term.

I'll rather be looked down on than be shot and i think every sane human being would too. Btw, i don't look down on black people but the sad story is that crime follows black people in the US. Any city with a high crime rate will most definitely have a lot of black folks and that is not because black people are bad due to their skin color but because society has subjected them to this kind of life. Everywhere in the world, it's the poor people that commit most crimes and blacks belong to the poor of the poor in America. We thank God that things are changing gradually. At least a predominantly black city like Atlanta have a lot of rich black folks but the same cannot be said of Baltimore and Detroit.

cyrexx: While a woman who keeps her chastity should be commended. It's worthy to note that some women are virgins for some other not-so-good reasons and their virginity is actually an anomaly.

Some of those reasons are:

1. She is not attractive to the opposite sex and boys do not approach her.
2. She doesn't have opportunity to express her sexuality. She's secluded and raised in a rigid home. Those women tends to be frigid even when married.
3. Her religion taught her that sex is evil. She grows up to hate the idea of sex.
4. She has no desire for men. Probably lesbian by nature, but can't express her lesbianism in a Nigerian society.


A woman who has good character is always better than one with bad character, virginity notwithstanding. Personally I would choose a woman who has a healthy sexuality and good character. Not the one who believe her most precious asset is her virginity, instead of other more important things that builds a happy home.

Most often, your partner will judge you by the content of your character and not your virginity.
