Yonce:Actually, the solution is to encourage Early marriage, and Start giving marriage counseling starting from ss1 at most, and how to go about the marriage notwithstanding their resources. This is a trying time. We need to start supporting teens who want to do the right thing. When you start giving them the best way out, you'll see a lot of evil associated with illegal sex will reduce. introducing contraceptive instead of marriage will be OUR UNDOING. |
Geofavor:23 Years old males got married in the recent past and it's still occurring till date! Not everyone has a car nor fat bank balance before they got married. Once you start looking past the materialism, you'll realise it's always possible. It's still happening. |
Empiree:Present. ![]() |
Harm not if you can't help their predicament. |
chronique:Chop knuckles abeg. You have your balls intact. As long as you earn and provide, no one goes anywhere. If the job even pay more than a Senator's salary, e no cosain me. |
VictorRomanov:On point Boss. Why you should she relocate? I don't care whatever the new job wants to pay. She's staying back. I can't figure out, why on earth you should be married and will visit one or twice a month for years or decades probably. What's the essence of being married if you leave yourselves open to temptation in the name of a job? Os the husband complaining of not being able to provide or what? That's why I hate bank jobs. Seeing your family constantly and Sharing the good and bad together trumps whatever it is the so called "job" will be paying. God's willing, I'll not experience such self. |
kennygee:Ma'am, they can't see the contradictions in their posts. Everybody wants to sound sensible. They need to just explore more. I don't know the "Whites" he's talking about. It better not be European and American women. If it's the set of women above, then I see him as someone who doesn't even know what he's talking about! |
Mindfulness:Ma'am, Feminism is not a grass root movement that it's painted to be, it's a Social engineering by elite to grab power, not to empower the female, but to empower the government (as the new patriarch) and distabilize the family. Feminism hates both men and women. Can't you see it. It think you've read too much McKinsey reports to think that "women's right" improves economic conditions. That's inaccurate. A one-income household in the 60s-70s has the same purchasing power as a two -income household today, and that without the evils of today. Feminism is to exploit the females (of the goyim), and make more money, while leaving the children vulnerable. You people don't just get it. Again, women (with very few exceptions) are not suited to build empires. Women are the internal force, the heart of the home, and balances the external force (the man). Mere look at a woman's figure will tell you she's meant to be protected, not building some empire. Settling down has been known to make people better. That's the rule, not the exception! Even prostitutes and ex-con have careers, so don't rubbish marriage here. Describing your self with your Marital status shows you're a SPECIAL someone who wants to participate in the natural cycle of life et al. Your next point os CONTRADICTORY. Living your life against anyone's expectations could mean getting married and being a stay at home mum, catering for the kids! Going against anyone's expectations does not directly translates to chasing a career. Thanks! |
InHim4Him:Boss, no mind him jare. Don't you know he's Voltron, defender of the Feminists. Imagine statements like: "her speech is for intellectual people", She's from a higher realm... Everybody just want to sound smart.
|
uboma:Exactly boss! Peer Socialization doesn't properly start till around Primary School age, so what's the real essence of Kindergarten? Even if I'm picking naira notes on the streets, I can't pay such amount for a nursery school, when the children can learn better at home. And learning is not restricted to "A" for apple. It includes certain basic lessons and etiquettes which is never learnt anywhere save at home. However, something tells me that networking /connections is the main reason some parents send their wards there. |
Paying millions for nursery (and primary) schools. Are they learning how to fly a plane or AI and Robotics? Whereas, an educated stay at home mum can educate her child, and trump whatever they are learning there. The rate at which proprietors charge higher for subpar education is off point. |
AnonyNymous:When a man has lost protective jealousy for his wife (to be) this is the kind of thing you'd expect. I mean, is he not supposed to be very protective of her, and ward off prying eyes. How a man will be comfortable showing his lady's charm to all still beats me! What a generation! |
Mynd44:Bullseye! A billion likes sir! Actually, this has shown how low we've sunk! Donating money to some bloke who don't even care if you exist or not. A show promoting total rubbish and further degrading the "famed" African morals. I mean, who locks up adults that are supposed to be productive, and making the environment sexually permissive, and expect them to act sane! Some of those donating that amount might have someone having difficulties paying school fees, might have walked past a begger or a poor widow with some kids who desperately needs every penny. People are dying daily not being able to buy drugs or treatment not even up to that amount. I mean, with the rate of unemployment in Nigeria currently, I don't expect any sane young Nigerian to even be spending a penny voting for silliness - BBN, buying fuel to watch their show. We should be be brainstorming day and night on how to help ourselves if we've lost hope on the government. I was totally disappointed when I learnt that over 330 million naira was realized from voting alone. Imagine! If those "voters" can create a sort of platform, and pay such amount (30 Naira) every month, which is not even up to 400 Naira a year. I mean with consistency , think of what will be achieved in a year with such amount. I mean, the country will fill the impact, but no. We'll rather encourage immorality the more. I fear for the future generations! |
peeps4u:On point boss! It seriously baffles me when you can afford to spend thousands of naira on each other, especially during celebrations, you hurt each other, fight and patch up, yet you engage in all what marry couples do, yet staying together for donkey years acting "I'm too young". Can somebody define marriage again? |
Talkingboy:I tell you brother. You'll still meet some old Agbaya, jumping around, and still saying they are too young (at 35 o) or not yet ready. Early marriage is still the best! |
Mustack:Yes o, Oga mi. . It can get very challenging too. |
I'm a corp member serving in Niger State too. I'm serving in Minna so expect that my POV will be "Minna - centric" SOCIAL LIFE For a social person, Niger state (even the capital, Minna) is not social at all. Very few recreational centres, no cinema, mart or even the fame shoprite . However, for someone who does not like the hustle and bustle in major cities, you'll enjoy Minna. If you're the type that loves the so called "flexing", you'll be disappointed. BUSINESS The sort of business that thrives the most here, like other smaller cities is the sale of every day goods, barbing saloon, hairdressing etc. Businesses that involve ICT are very scanty. If you want photocopy, you have to go to into the heart of the city. Businesses like Engineering and technology (car repairs, generator repair, refrigerator etc.) is not a regular feature. Also, plumbing et al. ICT here is sorely lacking. Sales of Electronics is lacking too. The state produces large amount of foodstuffs, and some commodities might not be as "Behind" as you want it. FOOD Yam yam yam. You'll eat enough of it here, very cheap. Also, Soya Beans cake (wara, beske etc.) is abundant here, same as Irish potatoes, onions erc. Rice and beans are fairly cheap. Also, tomatoes are in abundance too. If you love magoes, you'll eat them a lot here. Foodstuffs that may be a bit scarce are plantains, vegetables, ewedu etc. WEATHER If you're coming from a the SS, SE or SW, then you'll have to invest in Ice block o. The weather can be harsh, but you may get used to it soon. LANGUAGE If you understand Hausa, you'll definitely navigate easily, same with Nupe (though a Nupe-Gwari dominated state, but Hausa language reigns). If you understand Gwari, you can still find it fairly easy to navigate, however, probably not as easy as the twoa above. Though, your English language too will do the trick. TRANSPORTATION AND TRAFFIC The major means of transportation is tricycle (and the now reinstated bike). The cost is fairly cheap. If you're the Lagos type, this one of the aspect that you'll definitely love about Minna-Niger. The traffic lights does virtually all the work, and you'll hardly find policemen, hence a good traffic organization. PPA If you're a corp member serving in Niger state, like most state, you're most likely to serve in a school. If your PPA is a private school, you'll be paid (but might be overworked), if you're serving in some government parastatal, you may either be paid or given accommodation or both, but if you're serving in a government school, especially in a village, you may possibly enjoy nicer accommodation, and free foodstuffs and goodwill from the villagers. If you can negotiate with your employers (especially those that do not pay,) you can search for Secondary places of assignments, and also conduct home lessons. This is popular, however beware of exploitative parents. Specialized disciplines like medicine etc will enjoy Some of the Hot PPAs are: Government House FUT MINNA NECO House of Assembly WAEC (almost not luck for most corp members) Private Schools Ministry of Finance Head of Civil service Etc. LIGHT AND WATER Despite being a "power State" the electricity supply is unevenly distributed. Some part enjoy over 20 hours of power supply, others are rationed, and maybe 6 hours of power supply. Though if you live close to LGAs like Shioro, you'll over enjoy power supply. Except you live in a serviced apartment, you may have to constantly buy water from the Mai Ruwa (water sellers who hawk in jerry can). Water is a bit scarce in the dry season. GOVERNMENT INPUT The state government does not pay nada, except if you work in Ministries like the Ministry of finance. You'll be given a stipend and accommodation. Word of Advice. Though I still reflect on these advises myself. If you're posted to Niger State; Please to a larger extent, don't toy with the girls, except you're interested in marrying them. Socialize with the residents (moderately) they may help in ways you might not expect. If you're not the social type, at least keep a smile always. NB: NYSC "days" are very fleeting, try to see ways you can brush yourself up. If you read my post very well, you'll know that the state is brimming with opportunities. There are some opportunities that if you capitalize on, you'll definitely enjoy them. All the best bro! |
greendemocrats:On point! He should have been used as an example in other ways rather than gruesomely killed. This is too barbaric! Where's the principle of justice. I mean, if any of our politician especially those with a not so good reputation just stroll by, most of those lawyer-judge-executioner will hail him for a few change from their birthright which was stolen, and which all including the burnt man was a victim of. Later some of these youths will go to their places of worship, singing to the high heavens, and dancing! |
trigonometry:I tell you.
|
Phunkyposh:I almost enrolled for that CICRM-Chatered Institute of Customer Relationship Management, but the certificate issued might still carry the NYSC logo, which makes it fall on the category of cert discussed above... |
Really learning from my bosses here o. I wish our "missing" Sensei (Ikupakuti) can come on board. |
cowleg:it's possible that they pay the two combined this month. I went tp Diamond Bank today, and they told to go p to the NYSC secretariat. I didn't go today, but I'm also hoping it comes soonest. |
cowleg:I complained a day after the clearance date. The query was to state the reason for my absence. After that, I tendered the medical certificate, my letter responding to the query, a stamped letter requesting for January payment, and the query all photocopies. After all these, the LGI ended by saying I should ve "hoping"! I still believe that it'll be paid as stated earlier by the posters above. Besides, which bank are you using? |
cowleg:Bro, how far with the payment ? I also missed January clearance due to my ill health then I was queried and asked to write a letter and all. I'm yet to also get paid. I use Diamond Bank. |
Holiday is coming, Holiday is coming We are going home, We are going home Goodbye teachers, goodbye scholars we are going to enjoy this holiday, wnjoy this holiday! Oh my home, Ohhhh my home, When shall I see my home, when shall I see my native land, I will never forget my home ![]() The songs are evoking a nostalgic feeling. Boys must grow! |
tetengi4life:Good Evening Sir, I'm a new corp member posted to Minna, Niger state. Kindly guide me through. Thanks sir, and God Bless. |
MrBrownJay1:Thumbs up Sir! You're complaining (and most definitely happy) that men approach you because of whatever you pride yourself in yet, you suggstively flaunt it, and also wear inappropriate clothes. Can someone see the insane amount of stupidity inherent? Her mates are busy proving themselves to be worth something intellectually, but here, Old cargo, you're busy flaunting yourself like some 16 year old teen. Grow up Agbaya! |
IAmSkinny:Sorry, wrong quote. |
IAmSkinny:Yes o. Just a few episode,. But you'll notice the lack of essence right away. |
Dotng:Are you surr you understand what I'm saying. Oga kindly read it again, slowly, objectively, and you'll understand my perspective. |
Alcatraz005:I knew it would later result in gross miscomprehension, subjective emotional outburst and name calling. ![]() Peace |

. It can get very challenging too.
. However, for someone who does not like the hustle and bustle in major cities, you'll enjoy Minna.
