you should read the relationship between the royal family in saudi arabia (the al saud family) and their relationship with ibn abdul-wahab (the founder of wahhabism), whose descendants are the ones appointed by the king of saudi arabia as "grand mufti" regardless if they merit the position or not. ibn abdul-wahab and his descendants of pseudo-scholars give the royal family religious cover, while the royal family gives them political cover and material rewards in return. it is, in other words, trade by barter. such are not representative of Islam. you cannot even compare the "grand mufti of saudi arabia" to the pope who is representative of catholics. i even used the word "catholics", and not "christians", because you cannot judge Jehovah's witnesses or Anglicans by what the pope does or say. likewise, you cannot judge a Shi'ite by what wahhabi says.

for your info, each Sunni Muslim country has a "grand mufti" of its own. so the grand mufti of one Sunni country is only in charge of the religious affairs of his country alone. on the other hand in Shia Islam, there are a certain number of recognized Ayatollahs. these Ayatollahs have their rulings binding upon Shias irrespective of national boundaries. for example, an ayatollah in Spain can issue fatwas that his Shia Muslim followers in Japan would adhere to. this system in Shia Islam is known as the MARJA'IYYAH. it is believed by Shias that the ayatollahs function in the place of the awaited 12th Imam, al-Mahdi (as), who is the legitimate successor of the Prophet (sa) and divinely chosen Imam of the ummah who would return alongside Prophet Jesus (as). in Sunni Islam such system does not exist as Sunnis believe in the caliphate which was abolished, and the rulings of Sunni sheikhs are not binding (at least not binding on all Sunnis).

The grand mufti is a great authority in Islam, who must have a very vast knowledge in Islamic theology and tradition, whether he is a wahabi or not. Besides, he speaks arabic as a first language, so you cant question his authority is Islam.

He has issued many fatwa in line with islamic injunction. He operates in the same level with the catholic pope (im not a catholic) in terms of power an authority. No Nigerian sheik or imam can lead prayer where he is present.

So dont tell me you are more islamic than him.

Yes, Igbos are spread in Nigeria and around the world, but it is never on record that the Igbos ever beheaded anyone, bomb church\mosque, fight in the name of God, but muslims do worldwide. Can you see the difference?

For sake of local geography, the Igbos are geo-politically located in 5 states but are geographically located in 7 states as natural indignes and not settlers, eg delta and river state. I know you would have heard of asaba-igbos or delta Igbos.

The arab population in europe and america is over 60milliom. This wholesale migration is less than 20 years. If arab\muslim territory is conducive, there is no way human migration can happen in that scale.

@ Lagosia I am not white, I am Igbo-Nigerian and I have a fair knowledge of Islamic oppressions and tyranny that has run over 1400 years. Muslims are very hostile to minorities where they are the majority and even among the muslim community the sunnis are very hostile to shia if sunni are majority and vice-versa.

The bombimg of shia (and their holy sites) by the sunnis are a daily occurence, which confirms that, even among the muslims themselves, there is no peace (as long as there are doctrinal differences).

Islamic violence is never bound by geography, it is not a matter of the volatility of the middle eastern region or foreign interference. There was no foreign interference when the sunni\shia crisis started. There was no foreign occupation when mohammed vowed to forcefully expel the christians and the Jews from the arabian penisula (quran 9:5, 29 & 30).

Please not that the egypt is owned by native copts, sudan by black africans, algeria by berbers but are currently and permanently ruled by arabs after a systematic genocide of the local population.

Christianity is never alien to saudi arabi, Iran, qater, kuwait, egypt or any middle eastern country. As a matter of fact christianity, prior to mohammed era, was a major religion in the middle east. The hostility of Islam and the anti-christian instructions of mohammed (quran 5:51) forced a lot of Jews and christians away fom the region.

Presently a lot of massacre, on a biblical scale, is going on against the christians in the region while muslims are free to build mosque and Islamic centres in europe and there is no report that a SINGLE muslim has been killed in europe and american just because they are muslims.

Well, it is an utopian dream that the sunni and the shia will ever tolerate each other. The sunni\shia crisis led to the massacre of mohammed grandsons, hussien and hassan. It led to a bloody civil war immediately after the death of mohammed on who will rule the arab\muslim world.
