The difference is the 5/6 and 3/4. These are called FEC values or forward error correction values. The data transmission language has an error correction key built into the data which allows the decoder to detect when some data has been lost on the way and guess what that date was and replace it without asking the source. This technique us useful in one way transmission systems. I don't know what logic goes into choosing 5/6 or 3/4 but from the receiving end I know that signals with bigger FEC values like 5/6 tend to be weaker and harder for decoders to lock than smaller ones like 1/2.

Correct!. FEC value of 5/6 is weaker than 3/4, it also need bigger dish for the decoder to nail.

At my end colors and Sports 24 signal is there but with a tp of 4096 H 30000. Tried the keys didn't work!

No key is working for sport 24 for now!

ok,use recovery boot system to uprade it:ensure your fashdrive is free of virus,put the software in tne flash,this time around only the software should be in the flash,switch off the receiver and attach the flash to the receiver,on the receiver while holding one of the channel buttons in front of the the receiver,as soon as you see( ----- )in front of the led display,release the channel button,thats all!
Note;make sure you rename the software(rom.bin).

Thanks for your response as usual. I have tried this option of 'recovery boot system to upgrade' too but it is not working and I think maybe because the decoder is not a dead one already. Each time I tried the upgrade via this option of "rom.bin", the decoder will just reboot normally without recognizing it, and I have tried it severally but no way, so is there any other way out?

Thanks. I have done as you said but there is still no solution yet! I downgraded the srt 4950H to to even much lower version - 3.20p which it did successfully but when I wanted to do the upgrade to the latest software (3.16p) it started displaying "file size error" again and refused load so any way out?

@Truly1, my own did not take up to 15 seconds before opening, properly insert the card, am very sure it will work

Pls guide me on the card insertion. How would I know that it is properly inserted?

@Kudos4u, it will work if the decoder has conax smart card reader, but u must activated the card with any strong HD reciever before before putting it on Qsat, i have done it with Qsat q11g and it worked.

Pls how did u go about it cos my own refused to work on Q11g or do you leave it there to hours before it start showing. The card is working well on my SRT 4950h.

Insert your card into the decoder, then go online with your phone or computer to complete the card registration process, but ensure you are on one of the ftv channels like, WAP tv, AIT, channels etc., after completing the process, it will show you activation success at the bottom of your phone or computer, then wait for some minutes b4 the channel comes up, if it doesn't, alternate the channels within the same group of ftv.

what's your Email address so that I can send you the fake patch. Samething also happened to me last week and someone send me the patch and that's what I use to wake mine. It's just that when I switch it on now, it doesn't show the startup logo anymore (strong or mytv) but it's working fine.

Hello wonderful friends, I will always recommend the strong decoder (4950H/E) to anyone looking for a good decoder to buy, first of all this decoder seems to be a little complex when it first came out with the original UI.
Anyway the 4950h has numerous cams, including Avatar cams There is also one full year free ccam working and since strong made 4950H ahead of its time, the software developers have promised an aggressive software upgrades .The only setback here is that people sometimes conceive minds to the contrary even before having a critical analysis of the box. I have worked with Qsat. Alpha box,..... and they are not equal to strong more so for 4922, I will rather say in terms of Android, 4922 is Kit Kat whiles 4950h is Mashmellon.... So long folks!!!

You are spot on brother. SRT 4950h is on its own class, you cannot even compare its colour with 4922a, but the 4922 series is popular with installers because of the simplicity of its operation.

You are perfectly spot on brother, infact the last time MBC showed up on Badr 6/7 @26e it was tagged MBC HD then. So my thinking is that they may not last there too, based on their antecedent and you cannot even get programme schedule on your remote EPG for MBC @26e
