Paint manufacturers make them. Some paint companies have primers as a separate product while some painters just use white emulsion paint as primer.
The primer I mean is not to consolidate weak substrate before final painting, but rather a high solid content paint with sufficient film thickness to cover hairline cracks.
The painters know some low quality brands that are thick on application but doesn't spread far. You could use those or get a ready mixed putty basecoat or flex coat and thin slightly with water then apply with short nap roller, both of which are thick paste like plasters usually applied with trowel.
After application, the painter would need a very smooth sandpaper to smoothen the surface slightly to level the roller mark before painting.
There may be some difficulty in having it on similar color for building with many different colors.
While the ready mixed putty comes in white, flex coat and some brand of paints come in colors.
Basically what you need is a thick paint that can fill cracks and if your painter can handle it, he could mix the powder putty filler or cement with emulsion paint to form a thick paste and use their scraper to apply it to fill the cracks, then scrape off the excess to leave a level surface.
The problem with the latter is that the cracks may be numerous and in places hands can't reach and may take much time to complete.

The primer would be cheaper. A drum of N4500 can cover 20 sqm and if made the exact color with the finish paint, the actual paint quantity required would reduce.
A painter would finish a room in an hour technically. Although he would have to wait to apply the second coat, but then he would have covered more areas with the first coat.

Who makes the primer; the painter or the paint company?. If it is the company, do you tell them what color you want. Or is primer a particular product you buy differently from the paint or mix with paint color?. How does this work when you have different paint colors in mind for each room.
Pls enlighten us.

Everything has been perfect but that orange color is throwing it off. I love orange colors when used at the right place. Please use something mild, not too significant difference from both colors you have used already. This orange is contrasting and takes away from the beauty. Remember the bricks/styles are the focal points that projects that structure. However, if you “must” use orange color; pls tone it down, there are several shades of oranges. Sorry I may have sounded harsh. Just my opinion.

Let us assume wood is MDF. Let us also assume soemthing exactly like this.
Maximum, 2 Boards, #6,000 each (l paid #5,500 though, due to very large quantity l bought) = 12K (One board is sized 4ft x 8ft)
Hinges, Handles, Screws, Tapes, Gum, in small quantities = 6K
Roller for Drawers (2sets) = 4K
machine Cutting = #500/Board = #1,000
Labour = one day job (max) =4K

Total = #27,000
This maximum price to pay for one small wardrobe like this, especially if you are doing more than one, the price should basically reduce (Economics of Scale).
I just did a whole house of 6flats where l bought all materials myself ..so l am current with prices.

Caveat: What you pay also depends on your power of negotiation

I am thrilled looking at the level of ingenuity been shown on this thread since I started reading, last week. Can someone link me with a professional who can install FTA Dish, similar to what you see on this picture at my residence in Aba, Abia State .
What type of Dish (60,90) and Strong decoder would you recommend for me to use. I don’t mind if the person comes from nearby cities like Owerri or Port Harcourt. I’m willing to provide all logistics for the person to come and do the installation, in as much as I will be receiving several FTA channels, same goodies you guys have been enjoying .
My main thing is sports, (football), News and other entertainments.
I am especially thrilled by this numerous LNB’s on a single dish , I don’t mind having one.

I will push as much as I can without touching my business capital. Certainly there are things that can never be completed this year, like the compound floor and the water supply systems. Inside furnishings and kitchen cabinets can wait till later. The children just want to spend the first Christmas in their father's house

A friend of mine bought Geepee tank,
Water pump and connected ordinary pipe ( like the one they use in washing cars). His plumber did a mere shift connection just to the area they need water for the period and
It pumps water upstairs for them to use all through the Xmas and New year. It was beautiful.
He bought a big stove and plenty kerosine. Generator and fan.
His kids were just happy to be there, running around the compound etc.

I don't have idea of how screeding is charged.
Most architectural paints are acrylic based. The pop emulsion paint and some paints make use of vinyl based binder which isn't as good as the acrylic based.
I think what you meant to ask is the best type of acrylic paint best suited to withstand exterior weathering conditions since there are grades of acrylic emulsion paints also.
The best acrylic paint suited for exterior use is the matte emulsion paint. it withstands moisture better, protects the building against weathering process and aging but still allows the building to breathe through water vapor escape.
many brands name the matte finish weather shield or weather related name to indicate it's ability to protect building against damaging effect of weathering on the building.

Na wa for you oga gbadexy, the way you spill out tiniest details of painting makes you “ oga Spyder” of your own area of work (painting). Same way he details building process.
I wish you can extend your services down East (Abia,Anambra,Rivers). I didn’t know an iota of these but have learned a lot from you. you are indeed a blessing to us. I appreciate.

Last important question; How long do you wait after cement screeding before painting. Will the painter do primer or just straight painting.

A beg wetin be cement screeding? . I look at POP screeding on must external walls and they way they flake off easily and the whole house looks disgusting afterwards.

I believe so as well. From what I have read here, respectable men like Spyder and Hajj attest to its quality; however I don’t know if they used similar cement screeding on internal walls; that’s why I am asking for ideas from people who have done it to enlighten us.

If Someone’s compound is tight and you don’t have much space at the back or sides. Is there any danger or violation in placing water tank stand in front of your duplex (by the fence corner). And what’s the recommended height for good water pressure as well as safety.

Because that's how MMM run their show for almost one year before kicking the bucket...

Of course it’s not a bad idea to exercise caution and patience for some period to varify their stability before purchasing. That’s my plan as well, though I am thinking of 3 months after this test transmission if their sports channels are up.

I have not been able to scan TSTV as my Qsat decoder is faulty but I've read several comments that they already have like over 30 channels already and that their movie channels are way cool with clean pictures. Infact, someone said he hasn't seen any sattelite with such clean videos.

I also chatted with them and discovered most of the channels they listed initially are already
on except sport channels, maybe they will include before the expiration of the test transmission period.


You can check lemmymorgan.com, he uploaded video presentation of all channels presently available.

Note: I am not viewing TSTV, infact i am not impressed by them, just giving you updates from what I read.

I'm glad you are loving your tiles chief, we've come a long way in tiles production, gone are the day when local manufacturers are scared to put their logo and "made in Nigeria" at the rear and pack of their tiles. CDK Ceramics and West African Ceramics are really setting the pace and Time Ceramics and Goodwill Ceramics are not far behind.

A Nairalander was at my office last week looking for white porcelain Spanish or Italian tiles, i showed him our samples and their prices, he needed about 1800+sqms, so as expected the money involved was huge, he said he'll need to leave the tile purchase until his next visit to Nigeria due to the funds involved.
Then i asked him a question ; why Spanish or Italian? Why not Nigerian? . He scoffed at my mention of Nigerian tiles.
Then asked him if he'll like me to show him made in Nigeria white porcelain tiles, just to see not touch or buy . He said ok, then i showed him the samples and.
He was so impressed and decided to go with Nigerian tiles and saving alot of money. Local manufacturers are uping their games and the competition is becoming more and more intense both price wise.
