Fresh Trouble For Adeleke As Anti-Corruption Agency Awaits Signal To Go After Him on 332 borehole projects, others. We’re awaiting signal to investigate Adeleke’s 332 borehole project, others – ICPC The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has taken measures to investigate an alleged fraud involving Governor Ademola Adeleke’s 332 borehole projects following a petition by a coalition. The Nation recalled that a coalition of civil society organizations in Osun state under the aegis of The Osun Masterminds (TOM) had submitted a petition to the anti-graft agency on October 31st, 2023. The petition signed by the coalition’s executive director, Professor Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, and Comrade Ayo Ologun alleged fraudulent award of contracts and flagrant violation of Osun Public Procurement Law, 2015. Meanwhile, the Osun State Resident Commissioner of ICPC, Demola Bakare during a media parley to commemorate the 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day confirmed that the agency received a petition over projects by the government. Responding to questions from newsmen, he said: “The petition is receiving necessary attention, the petition has been forwarded to our headquarters in Abuja. “Presently, we do not have the substantive chairman and there are certain things that every other person apart from the chairman cannot do. If we take many matters to court, I know that the defence lawyers can challenge us that the right person is not prosecuting that case. So, as soon as the new chairman comes, we will look at it and direct actions.” Earlier, Bakare disclosed: “Analysis of the 2023 National Capital Budget has indeed been revealing. In the 2023 budget, N1.52 trillion worth of projects representing 28.4% of capital allocations across 150 agencies are adjudged suspicious, inserted, or out of MDAs’ mandates. A total of 1,202 projects amounting to N353.29 billion representing 6.60% of capital allocation were considered suspicious projects.” https://thenationonlineng.net/were-awaiting-signal-to-investigate-adelekes-332-borehole-project-others-icpc/ https://newsdirect.ng/just-in-fresh-trouble-for-adeleke-as-anti-corruption-agency-awaits-signal-to-go-after-him/

Hmm 🤔 very deep here “I could probably have written two novels had I not had my child” Chimamanda Adichie speaks about motherhood being a “glorious gift” but says it comes at a “cost” (video) Chimamanda Adichie has opened up about motherhood and how it affects women. The Nigerian author spoke during an interview on BBC’s Woman’s Hour. She shared her personal experience as a mother and how motherhood affected her creativity. She said: “Becoming a mother is a glorious gift but it comes at a cost and I think it’s important to acknowledge that, right? “There is something that we… and I will say ‘lose’.” She added: “I felt that I could probably have written two novels had I not had my child. But I think that having her also sort of opened me up to this new, almost a new phase of experience and awareness that I’m hoping will feed my fiction. “Even before I had her, when I was pregnant, I felt as though my brain had been wrapped in gauze. So, my brain didn’t work for a long time. And just more creatively, I think I am making my way back because I am working on a novel finally. But I just wasn’t able to get into my fictional space for a long time.” She also talks about being “horrified” at the parts of motherhood that she wasn’t prepared for, including the constipation, joint pains and more. “I wasn’t prepared for so much, I really wasn’t.” she said. Adichie spoke about the birth process and how women bringing in life are “reduced” to their “animal selves”. She also pointed out that women need to be prepared for these things, including knowing that in the process of pushing out a baby, a woman could also defecate. She said childbirth should be demystified and “the gritty reality” of it should be discussed so that people are aware that it is not like in the movies where a woman is “perfectly fine” after just pushing out a baby. She pointed out that, in reality, many women are “sinking in just awful depression” after child birth. https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2023/11/i-could-probably-have-written-two-novels-had-i-not-had-my-child-chimamanda-adichie-speaks-about-motherhood-being-a-glorious-gift-but-says-it-comes-at-a-cost-video.html#google_vignette
