HeWrites: Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has said that he is innocent of fraud allegations against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Igbere TV reports.
Saraki, in a statement by his media adviser, Yusuph Olaniyonu, made available to Igbere TV on Monday said he was not engaged in any media war with the EFCC.
The commission had claimed that Saraki withdrew N12 billion in cash from the treasury of the Kwara State Government while he was governor of the state between 2003 and 2011.
In reaction, Saraki said he had been the one at the receiving end of media onslaught reportedly sponsored by EFCC.
“We need to reiterate that Dr. Saraki is not interested in obstructing any investigation by the EFCC or any security agency. While the EFCC claims that it is investigating the Office of the Senate President between 2015 and 2019, we make bold to say that it is just on a wild goose chase.
“That Office has nothing to do with contract awards and handling of the finances of the National Assembly. These are functions of the bureaucracy of the National Assembly, otherwise known as the National Assembly Management.
“On its persistent probe of the tenure of Dr. Saraki as Governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011, we maintain that all the issues the EFCC are presently raising were the same issues that are contained in four of the charges filed before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) and taken before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court,” the statement said.
It also said that in EFCC’s “desperation to nail Dr. Saraki, some of the charges that contained insinuations that Kwara State funds were paid into accounts owned by him and companies in which he has interests were filed. And twice, the charges went before the highest court in the land and he was discharged and acquitted.”
Oyerinde16: I am based in kwara so sit back n let me educate u a little about saraki. Most of those who deposed saraki were at one time or the other his boys, they ordinarily wouldn't have being able to unseat n depose him but for the federal might and calumny. Most of those guys worked for or with saraki at one point or the other, they left after they either lost out or did not get what they wanted, most of them were in PDP, hoping to use the platform, they all decamped to the APC when Saraki himself crossed to the PDP, they ran to Abuja cos at this time Abuja was looking for Anybody that can help them finish him completely, most of them would bow their heads if they met Saraki One on One, but they all his under federal might n cover to launch fatal attacks on saraki, Saraki himself underestimated their capabilities and was less perturbed, he only realised when it was virtually too late, he tried to pull some strings but federal might, rigging and militarization was just too much and he lost out, yet he maintained his calm. Saraki is a principality in his right, a boss of bosses. I know he will bounce back.

yns4real: The Lagos State governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said he will end the protracted gridlock in Apapa area of the state within the first 60 days of his administration.
Sanwo-Olu said this on Saturday during an interactive session with his classmates at the Executive Master of Business Administration class, University of Lagos, 1998/2000 set.
The erstwhile classmates held a Congratulatory Dinner Reception, in Sanwo-Olu’s honour at Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi.
At the dinner, they presented to him a policy document designed by them, which contained their ideas and suggestions on some of what Sanwo-Olu could do in office to have a successful tenure.
They also asked him specific questions and his plans about them.
One of the questions was what he would do about the trailers causing the gridlock in Apapa.
Taking on the issue, Sanwo-Olu promised that within the first 60 days in office, he would rid Apapa of the trailers.
He said, “The Apapa trailer issue; it’s a campaign issue; it’s very serious; I’m going to take it very seriously.
“I believe that it is something that we are going to solve in the first 60 days of our government. Whatever is going to be required of us, we will take them out.
“There is a lot of politics being played around there. But no, it cannot be the way we’ll continue to live. We cannot continue to give excuses.”
The governor-elect, however, said as a long-term solution, his administration would develop the Badagry Port, to diffuse the pressure on the Apapa Port.
I hate it when you guys from other dead regions feel you know more about our states than us. It is better to keep shut than to be spewing trash thinking you know when you obviously know not.
You think we are like you misguided folks? We know when to boot a politician out and when to keep them. We don't know how to say "he is our son, don't touch him" especially when his hands are not clean. We are not cursed
Don't mind those pipu who think they know our state more than us
MaziOmenuko: He stood up to Jonathan against the looting going on; he stood up against his governor against the bribery captured on camera; he is a great man, a man that stands up against the ills of the society no matter who is commiting the crime. What do you stand for?
Sanusi wasnt even the heir to the throne of the former Emir of Kano, the Emir had several Sons, but since Jonathan was about to jail him , the Emirate saved his asz by making him a king even when his father was just a brother to the king and he had no legitemate claim to the throne.
Getting to the throne Sanusi forgot that his days at CBN were over and gone for good, instead he started diping his hands into the Emirates treasury buying all kind of Rolls Royce showing off on Instagram. Till the state house of assembly lunched the first investigation into his reckless spending
etrouble: Yes, forward into the pit. He, his children and his children's children will regret this.
If Gandollar sacks Sanusi as Emir of Kano, that will be better than balkanization of the Kano Emirate which Gandollar just did. Gandollar and his generation have become unfortunate in this life.
