I have not said Nigerians are not smart but I am against this attitude of Nigerians making such statement about others with a sense of entitlement. My post was in response to the poster say Indians are not too smart. That is pure stereotyping and arrogance to believe Nigerians are smarter than others. You have smart Nigerians as you have smart Indians. Same with dumb ones. We try to belittle others to make us feel better about our situation making disparaging statements like ordinary Ghana , even Togo etc. ujuesther: |
Same as som indians would say Nigerians are lazy, poor workers who are difficult to manage. Does that charcterize all Nigerians? NO. ammyluv2002: |
I never doubted Nigerians are smart, but I find interesting this atitude we have of trying to put others down to show how good we are e.g. your statement insinuating that Indians are not smart or Nigerian are smarter. That Indian guys statement was the pure truth . Has nothing to do with Indians or Nigerians being smart or not. There was an article the other about Nigerian having one of the largest LNG and the article went on to say but yet they still import refined gas. With all our smartness. Please. ammyluv2002: |
So you admit we are not doing the right thing. We always admit this but yet not change. We have an impression of ourselves which is larger and far from reality. As a nation we need to get out mentality right. Roll up our sleeves collectively and work for the country not all this short term I must be a millionaire attitude we have. We don't value hard work anymore and we are all taking short cuts looking for that quick riches. We now look down on people who career dreams with statement like you cannot be rich working for someone etc. Everyone must do business because the goal is riches. We have a long way to go. ammyluv2002: |
Blame both the government and the people. The mentality of Nigerians must change from one of quick riches and short termism to one of collective growth and progress. Innovation and research. Reduce our religious zeal and invest in science and technology rather than pray for everthing. sdindan: |

I just gave a list of a few global Indian CEOS. Give me Nigerians. Name Nigeria companies that compete globally. Just 5. ammyluv2002: |
Not smart? How many Nigerians do we have heading global companies? Should i list Indians for you? Pepsi, Microsoft, Deloitte, former Vodafone, former Citigroup, just past Deutche Bank. Should I continue? If we are honest we know he is telling the truth. We have a poor attitude to work a work always looking for the short cut and quick riches. Do we value ourselves in Nigeria? Licking foreigners Ass over our people. Do foreigners queue in Nigeria? No. ammyluv2002: |

Yeah I should have said easy after studying the handbook not just walking in lol. 5 times? Compared to the UK I found the US driving test at least in Illinois very very easy. But yeah OP should download the handbook ( I promised the link already) study it a few times especially the signs and do the written test then the driving test. Stewee: |
He can drive for 60 days with his Nigerian licence. He will have to do the theory and road test a usual which should be pretty easy of he can already drive. Stewee: |
Oh please. the oil prices didn't fall due to sinister intentions. The Us has always made it clear they would pursue energy self dependency and it's countries like Nigeria, Venezuela etc who were silly enough to believe oil prices will remain high forever and instead of planning and investing in the future decided to steal, waster and chop all the proceeds. Oil is a commodity and the price will rise and fall based on demand and supply simple. China the biggest energy consumer for the past few years is slowing down and the US the second biggest is now an exporter so demand has fallen and supply risen. Supply will also increase when Iran joins the party. I applaud the US with what they have achieved with Shale. shows what hardwork and a vision can do. People said shale oil can never be drilled successfully but they invented new techniques to achieve it while Nigeria is crying sinister plot. major466: |
This article title is utter rubbish and I'm not really sure why people are rejoicing. This Paul Wibhey guy heads his private energy consulting company and is just speculating at a lecture given in Nigeria. Firstly he said if geo political relations change and the US may increase imports from Nigeria if Saudi Arabia continues to be closer to China. That's a big speculation and also ignores the fact that US imports from Saudi Arabia has been falling steadily due to increasing oil production in the US anyway. Nigeria better not Base their economic planning on the US resuming oil imports from Nigeria. Is it the same US that is also planning to be the biggest gas exporter in a few years that will ignore all the gains it has made to be more energy dependent and start importing from nigeria again? Please read the article and tell me where he said the US will definitely start importing. Seems we are so desperate for good news on Nigeria. |
That isn't true. That guy is not an official spokesperson of the US government and is just speculating. major466: |
Why not start your research on the drivers license website which has all information you need. There are also lots of information online. Just search minnesotan drivers licence https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/dvs/Pages/drivers-license-information.aspx calken: |
I don't see the school agreeing to transfer your records without you paying the money you already owe, and what guarantee do you have of getting full funding at another school? Start applying to the schools you have in mind, and in the meantime try to negotiate with current school on a repayment plan or something and hopefully they may agree to release your records. You realize he died aged 78 and lived a fulfilled life right? I'm not sure the point of all this talk about why his billions didn't save him. He lived, he fulfilled and died. DankemzI: |
I find it interesting that the solution to any problem or issue in Nigeria is to go and pray. With all the prayer we have been praying why are things still so messed up. I'm sorry for what you had to experience, that is sexual harassment and in a sane society where coincidentally they even have less churches than Nigeria this would be a serious issue which would be dealt with, but my dear Nigerians will tell you to go and pray even when you raise the alarm. Religion has made us intellectually lazy in Nigeria and we ignore the fact God has already given us everything we need to be a great nation and keep praying and praying. Mspread: |
@ Hubrishe The point isn't that they go to give birth, it's that they abuse the system by not paying their bills. As mentioned in the article you quoted, the Chinese pay compared to running and avoiding paying. |
Hahaha you wicked oh Dharniel: |
Very true. Just like what the likes of Dubai, Qatar, Norway etc did. What I find really upsetting about this is we missed a chance to use the proceeds from the oil boom to really invest in infrastructure and diversify the economy. Now it will be painful and hard work falling revenue but it must be done. bushdoc9919: |
You really took the time to type up such a detailed sensible response? Such people are a lost cause and will never change so don't waste your time abeg. Orikinla: |
No what Nigeria needs now is people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and work hard for the good of the country rather than remain selfish an always looking for shortcuts. We have prayed enough in Nigeria please. Prayer has made us intellectually lazy. Nigerians are hypocrites. Most likely us are in church because of expected blessings and miracles rather than because we are true Christians. Even Jerusalem which can lay claim to where Jesus was born do not make as much noise and nuisance as we do. Overdo in everything and yet nothing works. This article by Ofilispeaks.com say it very well. http://ofilispeaks.com/greatprayer/ It is Nigeria you will see people pray and expect blessing on sin. I will pass my exam IJN even though I just paid for expo. Arbiola:
|
What had all the numerous number of churches, revivals and night vigils done for Nigeria? Everything is still upside down. We have turned religion into something else in Nigeria and it has made us very very lazy. Waiting for miracles and for God to do everything while we spent our time praying. Arbiola: |
Technically yes you can if you have a valid Canadian visa, but if the border entry official notices your F1 visa had expired they will want to know your destination after Canada. If they are not convinced you are returning to Nigeria after they can refuse you entry. slimmy05: |
Please stop mixing up the two. China's stock market is falling due to slowing economic growth and impending asset Bubbles bursting. Nigeria’s stock market has been falling due to falling government revenue from falling oil prices and lack of economic direction from the present government. Please stop using China to defend Nigeria. While the Chinese issue may have some impact on the NSE, it will not be a massive move hence China is not the main reason for the fall in the Nigerian stock prices. Keneking: |
Ok i get your point now. i agree that people blaming PMB for Nigeria's issues is just being petty and silly. Nigeria's problems did not even start with GEJ to be honest, it is a compilation of decades of poor leadership and fundamental structural issues, but I also agree that GEJ could have done more to try to fix some of these issues and I blame him squarely for failing to take advantage of the oil boom to diversify and invest in the economy. Also the uncertainty around PMBs agenda and direction is also playing a role in declining foreign investment as investors do not know what the economic policies are. Either way PMB is the president for the next 4 years so we need to work together to take Nigeria forward and stop all this petty silly arguing and fighting over GEJ and PMB calling them dullards and worse. Not good. Goke7: |
Why do you keep tieing the poor growth to foreign investors. The reason for the poor growth is Nigeria has over depended on oil for governed revenue and the falling oil prices is having a knock on effect on the economy. Foreign investors will invest where they can get a return. It's a win win situation not a charity. They provide jobs, taxes etc to the economy and in return they make a profit for their investment. If the economic environment is not conducive they will pull their money away. Goke7: |
I don't usually reply to these silly Buhari GEJ abusing posts, but this is just Ridiculous. Our GDP growth has been falling since last year when we revised the economy and even the first quarter of this year it fell to just over 3% before falling to under 3% for the second quarter. Buhari being sworn in May will not affect the GDP fall that much in just 1 or 2 months. That's not how it works. Simple study of basic economics will help here please. Dbboy: |
