FSU: Why should it be news that Igbo will field presidential candidate in 2015?
Has there been an election year that Igbos have not fielded presidential candidates?
Did Igbos not contest in 2011 even as majority of Igbos supported Jonathan.
If you want to see the beauty of democracy in Nigeria, come to Igboland where everyone is free to contest.

Igboland is not North where only the rich Mullahs contest, neither is it SW where Tinubu handpicks who must contest.

Dude make your point without referring to other tribes, this is how it starts when other tribes now reacts you'll be playing victim.

Too bad, but if they are University students they should have been more knowledgable about immigration laws, ignorance cannot be used as excuse in western countries. In the UK here it never cease to amaze me how many Nigerians with a UK first and second degree could be so ignorant of immigration laws, it dawn on me afterall that being educated may not lead to being intelligent or being knowledgeable especially about politics/current affairs and how it affect immigrants.
Many of these rules and conditions are readily available on the internet but many immigrants never bother to read them.

Politics / Re: JTF Torturing Alleged Boko-Haram Members? (Pic) by tunnytox(m): 6:47pm On Sep 01, 2012
Anubis: somebody last week gave jtf a name and address of someone he suspects is a member of boko haram in maiduguri. jtf went to the house and rounded up everybody in the house including the women and children. they didnt even asked them their names, they just lined them up against a wall and shot all 14 of them to death,my friend was among them. Also when the christian youth in kaduna were retilating against boko haram attack on their churches they killed a senior Army commmander, as a result during the curfew the Army rounded up about 500 men from the christian community and massacred them all. Everybody should be in no doubt that one day the Army will be deployed in your city and you will be in for thesame treatment. All those stories you are reading in the newspaper about communities been attacked in the middle of the night, everybody is killed, with no trace of the perpetrators. I can guarantee you that it was jtf because they have a policy that if somebody from a certain village kills one of them they will go to the village and kill everybody

I'm not surprised at all many of these army personel are barbaric in their nature. As for those applauding them just pray you never cross these people's path, they can wipe out an entire family and still shows no remorse.
Politics / Re: Pharmaceutical Society Of Nigeria (press Release) On Cynthia's Murder Case by tunnytox(m): 6:52pm On Aug 31, 2012
These young pharmacists are only doing their normal honest day job and do not deserved to be roped into a murder case just to make them a scapegoat. As someone who have a very good knowledge of the Nigerian pharmaceutical industry I can assure anyone that the medication in question and many other similar types can be bought easily on open market in idumota so what the fuzz about?
Judging by the circumstances surrounding the arrest of these young pharmacists I'm beginning to doubt the Nigerian Police, the so called suspects currently charged for the murder may not even be the real killers of Cynthia. With the way Nigerian police operates and judging by their antecedents I'll not be surprised if these so called confession were extracted from these suspects after several rounds of torture, they may actually be innocent.

Torture is barbaric and very outdated method of gathering evidence, it is a lazy approach, inhumane and usually counter productive. Even in several former soviets countries where torture is routinely used some sort of mental torture rather than physical torture are used.

for those applauding these acts of torture just think twice because these accused persons might be innocent, if you find yourself being tortured for what you know nothing about how will you feel? especially judging by the fact that you are not likely to be compensated while you continue to carry the scar for the rest of your lives.

kmariko:

Sir, I flew from Tokyo to Perth Australia and Also from Hawaii to Melbourne, last I checked Tokyo and Hawaii are not in " continental" Australia. One can fly from Dallas directly to Australia, or Houston . Last I checked also both cities are in USA not Australia, same goes for flights from Any of the Airports from California to Osaka or Tokyo or Fukoka, they are all "intercontinental" if you want to use those terms instead of international.
Sir, the word is international not intercontinental, but whatever way you want to slice it it is still between two or more nations.

Bro please try to compare likes with likes, Tokyo and Perth are not within the same continents agreed but they are more within the same flying routes. Moreso south east asia and Australia have numerous trade and tourism links. same goes for your flights from Hawaii to Melbourne. These flights are more like flying from Talinn (Estonia) to Manchester or rather Istanbul to Manchester. Also don't forget that I stated that some Intercontinental flights also fly directly to routes within UK just because the demand is there.

Also you have to realise that both USA and Australia are very bid countries with regions who are autonomous, thriving and economically viable, the cities you mentioned such as dallas and houston are attractive tourist destination and even from the UK here you can fly directly there and many USA cities because of the availability of many package holidays. The same cannot be said of Enugu, Ibadan, Ilorin, Jos or even Sokoto.

If Nigeria develops her country and become an attractive tourist and business hub there will be lots of airlines queing to fly to Enugu either to link Obudu ranch,Oguta lake and many other attractive tourist destination in the east. It is not right put a cart before a horse, lets get things right and allow things to take shape as it should be.

So because few of us here arguing against the forced move are Yorubas in your own little world this makes all Yorubas against the Enugu airport?

FSU:

To establish an airline you need government license and the attendant high-wired bureaucracy. You have no clue what some Igbo business men are doing as of today in that regard. Remember that Igbos have had airlines in the past. Triax Airlines, Sosoliso, etc were all Igbo-owned. So its not like we are midgets in that area. For example Orji Kalu's slok Airline was running the West African route until Govt bureaucracy came in under Obasanjo (a Yoruba man, people who take joy in killing anything Igbo) and he had to relocate to Gambia where it become the national carrier. Besides, who says a Yorrober man cannot put his airline in Enugu. Are you guys averse to establishing outside your comfort zone?

You're now showing your rascality, what has Yoruba got to do with this issue? The complainant is not a Yoruba yet you find it easy to put blames on Yoruba for any of your failures. And tell me if you're not bigoted why you have to write Yorober instead of Yoruba?
I knew all these while that the reason you argue blindly is nothing but due to your bigoted mind.

National interest are sometimes put over company interest! In d case of the airlines matter...its d govt that built those airports they should have a say in how its operated to protect and make those airports running...if the airlines dnt like it they shlould go and build their own airport and land there.

You guys dnt knw the level of politics in protecting national interest dat are involved in BASA negotiation!

They should operate from enugu...beside d minster said she will connect them with local airlines that will take d small percentage of abuja passengers to enugu which cost will be sorted out btw d ministry and the airlines! So what's are d airlines still complaining about

You're the mor0n here for comparing apple with banana and expecting everyone to accept like zombies. Why can't Fashola tell Ekene Dili Chukwu that there is no space in Lagos so they should stop at Ibadan?
There is no iota of truth in the claim that there is no more space in Abuja, accept it or not you cannot force these airlines to land in Enugu.
They'll stay in there country if they can't land in Abuja simples!

I wouldn't want to derail the thread but to educate others Nigeria is approx. 9 times bigger than England but UK is made up of 3 other countries apart from England so where did you get it from that England is the size of a smallest state in Nigeria?

I will not continue to join issues with those who are blinded by their tribal sentiments I have made enough points on why the minister decision is wrong in the end I believe common sense will prevail.

Dude, England is the size of about the smallest state in Nigeria. From Lagos to Enugu is about 7 hours even on good roads. How can you make such comparisons? You are like that german fellow who asked a Nigerian is germany if he knows a guy in gabon called John. As if gabon is 3km from Nigeria.

They don't need to divert flight to liverpool or newcastle. They are just a stone throw apart compared to Nigerian cities

Dude stop making a f.00l of yourself England is NOT the size of a smallest state in Nigeria, I'll give you sometime to consult your atlas and come back here.

If the british airways decides that Arik should land in liverpool or newscaster, then that's what will happen afterall those cities are in the UK and it's better than landing the plane in Afghanistan. They probably haven't doen this because there's still space in Heathrow and Gatwick.

Why did Nigerian govt complained when Arik's Heathrow slot was revoked if it's that simple? And who tells you there's no more space in Abuja for these airlines to land?

What are you saying my friend, I don't get you. Is the primary objective of government policy for foreigners to come and make money or for the citizens to be served? What is this talk about economic viability over Nigeria's interest? Is it compulsory they do business in Nigeria?

If they can't do what we want, they should fark off and stop occupying space joor!

Why can't Arik fly to Glasgow? Why can't Air Nigeria be forced to land in Liverpool or even Newcastle?
These airlines can only fly to London to make profit and stay in biz, it's not rocket science to know this except you're being prejudiced.
