megawealth01:Me ke?,i cant fall for such . Peter cant use me to do Monkey barbecuing. |
PETERiCHY:Lol, I thought you advised people to enter and alight at KM 12. It's always a risky strategy investing on hope. Uchetoba come and see your people. |
gabscity:I sent Morgan Capital a mail for a reduced transaction fee because of volume of transaction i plan to do with them about 2 weeks ago, They promised to get back and till now Morgan hasn't said anything. I sent a follow up mail there was no response. Over the weekend I opened another account with Meristem, the customer service experience has been top notch. My Conclusion: Morgan has made money or has money right now hence they don't need your kobo kobo deposits .Their live trading platform still seems better though but pride goes before fall. They need to watch it. Meristem Customer service is in a world of its own. If they maintain those quick responses they will go far . |
RabbiDoracle:I spoke about the expectations of a bullish era earlier. Except the CBN resolves the divergence between the FX black market and official market no serious foreign investor will bring their funds into this country. Even local investors would rather observe where naira ends before committing more funds. |
Coolcash1:I think we are already in Recession. When we are getting out should be the next discussion. |
seyisanya:Yeah i get you, those ones have found good excuse not to pay anything. . |
seyisanya:There is too much uncertainty in the world for now. What if the regular dividend paying companies can't pay full dividend for now? I will advise investors to discount next dividend expectations by 30% minimum. Jijo is pure risk taking for now. |
arduino:Without resesarching why it has been falling? |
creategist:Overly optimistic projections in my view. 50% of all that is listed is more realistic under the current circumstances. |
Nigeria making news for bad reasons. May the fraudulent ones among us continue to crash. |
Princkez:The best price depends on your target, i think the first question should be what is your target. I target stocks that can pay me between 12% to 18% dividend per annum, so I can continue to buy zenith till around N20 to meet my yield target. If capital appreciation is your goal, study a one year high and low of the stock, study its fundamental , study its 5 years trend. Then you can pick stocks that are closer to the year low. For example if you target 50% return in 1 year, you may pick GTB at N21 and plan to sell at N32. It may get there ,it may not. |
I woke Up to my GTBANK dividend alert this morning ,I have been more happy all day. I have also discovered that a good dividend is good for your health,it can elongate your life. I plan reinvesting half of my dividends for the next 6 years in bond market. I exited the market 13 years ago ,I paid heavy school fees buying junk stocks. What I lost in the market in those years is enough to buy a nice duplex now. Within those years I ran away from anything stock market meanwhile people were making a kill here. A year ago, I started following the market again. I started researching again. I have read through most of the posts of the gurus on this page. I started investing again, this time cashflow became my watchword. If a stock can't repay my investment in 10 years its not worth my money. Special kudos to emmanuelewumi the grandmaster of cashflow investing . The oracle, mcy, ogg, currentprice, Agba, all the jijo masters and crew, all the doomsday prophets, all the kilometre 22 crew . May our portfolio continue to swell, may we continue to chop this stock market money together. |
ahiboilandgas:That barbing salon can also land him in a loss making position via low patronage and expenses on diesel. The higher the risk the higher the return. Fixed income investments have low returns for a reason. Lets always bear that in mind. |
meshpips:Oga how far with our Zenith bonanza at N11.90k, should we expect it in July? What are the charts saying? |
This is some good news to cheer every one up. I guess Nigeria should be a net exporter of fertilizer soon. https://nairametrics.com/2020/06/26/worlds-largest-fertilizer-firm-to-commission-multi-billion-plant-in-nigeria/ |
Chibuking81:Monitoring oil fluctuations on a daily basis is not good for anyones health. I think Following general trend is better. Most countries are opening up hence there is no need to worry about Oil. Even right now there are good deals in the market, you can never time this market accurately. What if the Q2 results comes out better than expected. The feelers i am getting is to the effect that banking results will be flat. I am a fundamental investor, i seek only companies that give me minimum 12% dividend yield annually. So i careless about these market gyrations except something fundamental happens. Right now i am buying Zenith, WAPCO,UCAP. If prices comes down in July i will buy,if they don't i wont regret.Hope you understand my bias. |
Chibuking81:Why are you bothered with daily fluctuations in Brent while losing sight of the general market direction . The world is in recovery, financial markets will keep getting better. |
Chibuking81:You are making sense, Stock market investment demands some level of research but what i often seen is herd movement. |
DexterousOne:Guinness hinges its investment strategies on about 50% affordable beers/malts and 50% spirits some of which are expensive. Compare that to Nigerian Brewries that has about 95% of its products spread along the affordable segments of beers, malts, farouz etc . In an economy that is constantly on the decline Guiness spirit brands will struggle. How many Nigerians care about Baileys and Ciroc for now when you have myriads of alternatives on the shelve. Buharis regime has also not been favorable to the sector Via increase in VAT and excise duties.. In terms of market penetration, some of Guinness brands are not known beyond Lagos. Compared to Nigerian Brewries, the managers of Guinness are not doing enough. Guiness needs to restructure, they may launch new products, acquire new businesses or scrap some none perfoming brands outrightly. |
megamart247:WAPCO and Guinness are on the opposite side of the spectrum. Results can only get better for wapco, while a turnaround is not sure for Guinness yet. I see WAPCO comfortably delivering 100% in the next 12 to 24 months. Its even a sin to Lump WAPCO and JAPAUL together in a single sentence. One is a Yahoo boy while the other is a Corporate executive with reputable brand and office. Be guided please. |

ahiboilandgas:The CBN is living in denial hence a second round of devaluation is inevitable at this point. |
This session was organized to help calm the nerves of foreign investors now awash with bailout dollars but worried about Nigeria’s faltering economy and its likely ability to trigger further devaluation. Mr. Emefiele did not confirm if another devaluation was in the offing. Rabbidoracle, The above is from Nairametrics write up on a recent CBN event where fx issues were discussed. Even though i pray for the inflow of those free foreign funds there by leading to a massive bull. However, there is too much uncertainty in this market for that bull to happen anytime soon. The CBN is living in denial hence a second round of devaluation is inevitable. I also see the current sideways trades happening for a while. |
Wiseoldman:Terms like Too Big to Fail, Giant of Africa etc are pure illusion and part of the reason Nigeria lags behind. A nation of 200million people struggling with Poverty, insecurity and 1960 problems. You are only giant in your country, the outside world has moved on and left us behind. Lets leave this realm of illusion and take decisive actions that can rejig this country. Political Restructuring along regional lines and Turning away from Oil dependency should come first. |
I was banned a month ago,I was wondering what the issue was. Arun needs to do something about this. |
Theconglomerate Versus Emmanuelewumi/MrMCjay were saying almost thesame thing but from different perspectives. While Mrmcjay derived his definition of "Commercial" from a C of O which is the root title thus talking from the perpective of a Property Lawyer and justifiably so. On the other hand,Theconglomerate sees any income generating Property as a commercial venture which is also justifiable since he is an investor. Hence his use of "Commercial" could have been better stated. However theconglomerate should learn to accomodate other opinion without going aggressive. I was taken aback by those words. I am also surprised at how he scoffs at those doing fixed income investments. You forgot that some people are in their wealth preservation phase of life. Thesame risk i could take at age 27,i may not want to take same at 45. Thats why i dont crucify young people around me who loses money to MMM. Experience is one of the best teachers thats if they are serious students to start with. On rental Wahala. From my little experience as a realtor ,i only advice clients to rent out residential properties to certain class of customers on certain conditions. Even when all these conditions are meant, nothing is fool proof in Nigeria. For example, An expatriate approached my firm to lease a duplex we just built in a mini estate. We wrote back to him offering him a medium lease of between 2 to 3 years on the condition that his company stands as his guarantor or the company enters into a direct tenancy agreement with us on behalf of our client. For whatever that is worth that gives us some relative peace. But such opportunities are only available to few locations where you have expatriates clusters in Nigeria. Even if you promise me 20% rental yield,i will never invest in Residential rental properties in many places in Lagos.e.g Egbeda, oshodi, Ogba, lagos island, ajah etc However i can invest in Commercial rental properties in strategic locations in any of the areas stated above (Egbeda,Oshodi,Ogba,Ajah) as many will rather pay for office or shop rent before house rent. So before you build that block of 6 flats for residential letting ,why dont you Consider putting 10 shops for commercial letting on 400sqm. The Commercial land maybe more expensive but the stress is worth it. A friend recently did about 30 shops on strategic Ogudu road Ojota before completion everything was taken. A second Case Study, A client abroad bought 2 properties from us with the goal of renting out both,my sincere advice to him was this. Put one on rental income, sell the second property at a 10% to 15% profit margin upon completion and put the money in Fixed securities or a Sound and consistent dividend paying stock. |
DeRuggedProf:Very Funny. So who do we ask if UACN and OANDO is doing wan kain? ![]() |
meshpips:You like to drag sha. When will NAHCO sell for N5? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years? Put a timeframe and lets watch together. Stock recommendations without a timeframe is at best Fraudulent and mischievous. |
meshpips:Target of N5.39 kobo when is that happening? In this adverse economic environment for the air service industry? |
stcool:Welcome to the party. I thought you were waiting for quarter 2 results. ![]() |
