Akuta28: Hello everyone, I've been on this platform for awhile and I must say it has been really helpful. I applied for an MBA program for October this year and my interview is slated middle sept. I just have a few questions and I don't know if anyone in the house can help. First of, my uncle here in Nigeria is sponsoring me, and he has an ending balance of 16m. Is any of this going to be an issue? Also I chose IGlobal university in Virginia... does anyone know it? Secondly, my first degree was in arts, now I want to make a total switch to MBA... is that an issue too? Last question, my uncle is sponsoring both myself and my brother at the same time... what do you advise guys....
And for the ones looking for people to troll, note that your opinion isn't needed but if you feel the need to show your immaturity, be my guest. Yeah, it's another for-profit visa mill... obviously they also didn't ask for much to admit you either. Sigh. |

I'd like to know why you think I am unserious because I applied to Shepherd University which it's College of Business is among 61 Public Universities and Colleges to be awarded by College of Distinction USA.
With your reasons to your assertion of me being an unserious student, I'd be able to know what to do to better my chances next time which is most important.
Regards What the heck is the "college of distinction"? Please explain. |

etudiant: Applied for F1 Visa Undergraduate level 2013 December and 2014 January ( BOTH DENIED)
VO: Good morning, can you pass your Passport? Me: Yes sure. (passed my passport containing my I-20 and Sevis ) VO: What are you going for? Me: I am going for my Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Public Management VO: Where is this school you applied to? (staring at my I-20 intensely) Me: Shepherd University is in Shepherdstown West Virginia ( discovered later on my way home that it's Martinsburg WV which is the location of the graduate studies that's written on my I-20) VO: How many schools did you apply to? ME: I researched on few schools and once I made my decision I applied to Shepherd University VO: (Cuts in) How many schools did you apply to? Me: 1 You applied to just 1 school - a school with over 90% acceptance rate and one that did not ask you for a GMAT/GRE? That really isn't a serious school... that sounds more like a visa mill... simply taking advantage of desperate international "students" looking for a route to immigrate to the US. The easiest way to assess your educational bonafides is the quality of program you got accepted into and the number of schools that were seeking to admit you. In both cases you flunked badly. It doesn't help that you've been denied 2ce before. |

etudiant: F1 VISA APPLICATION DENIED AUG 23 2017
TRANSCRIPT BELOW PLEASE ANALYSE AND ADVISE
PROFILE: Applied for F1 Visa Undergraduate level 2013 December and 2014 January ( BOTH DENIED)
Me: 1 VO: Did you write GRE or GMAT Me: No, it was not required for admission in Shepherd University VO: So why do you want to Study MBA? Me: As a Computer Scientist and an aspiring entrepreneur, I believe acquiring a standard business education is essential prior to kick starting my entrepreneurial career. MBA will help me understand the intricacies of Business and also expose me to Business models and Successful business practices which I can utilize in my entrepreneurial career. VO: Ok. What's your highest educational degree? ME: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science VO: When did you complete your BSc Me: Last year 2016 VO: What I do not understand is how you completed your degree in two years. ME: *confused* Actually Computer Science is a 3years program in the Republic of Benin VO: But it states you were here 2014 Me: Yes but I resumed Feb 2014 that's 3years ( honest but still confused myself at that point) VO: So why Shepherd University? Me: Well it has an amazing resource that's just established called Center for Regional Innovation. This gives a physical space that offers office amenities to support Internship and Research. With this students can now do their internships on campus with companies off campus without having the need to commute and also attend classes easily. Students will also be imbibed in the culture of collaborative learning and creative inspiration. All these factors made Shepherd University a perfect fit for my entrepreneurial goal.
VO types for a while..like she's been doing all through the interview.. possibly taking notes of our conversation..this point my mind was blank.. didn't know what to expect.
VO: thank you for you interest bla bla bla (you know the rest of the sad lines) Me: Sighed in disappointment again...
Hit by Tricycle at Ikeja..just smiled in thanksgiving that I didn't break a leg (lol no pun intended) Shepherd university in West Virginia. Lol if I say you're not a serious student now, all these post hunters will start talking. The poor VOs. |

chinemomah2020: Laughhh .. don't ever think you know all because you DON'T my white female friend, an American citizen who lives in Augusta Georgia was denied Nigerian visa the first time she applied for visiting and she cried because of Nigerian visa though she was coming for business but fortunately she was granted the second time. so don't be too sure of your self dude and incase you don't know American citizens also get visa denial. This is a largely unserious response - an exercising in fishing. At no point did the post you quote indicate that I know all things. I don't even know what I'm having for dinner tonight. Frankly, what exactly was your point? Stick to the point of the thread... |

DeeTus: Go sit down and stop claiming as if your life is perfect out there. People like you lick the ass.s of white people.
Even someone with American passport can be denied entry visa to a particular country. If you weren't already guilty of the same thing you complain about, why are you seeking the white man's visa? You can take a seat in your own home country. I feel like i lose a brain cell each time i respond to you to be honest. Your capacity for logical incoherence is amazing. Where can someone with an American passport be denied entry? Iran? Yeah you're free to go there if you want. |

DeeTus: There's nothing spectacular about the US visa provided that you have a good package and someone who is experienced to guide you through. Anyone cannot be denied a visa though. Do not make it sound as if the dude is senseless and does not know what he is doing.
Again, Austrian visa is tough too. Am i allowed to come out of my sandbox now? If there's nothing spectacular about the US visa, this thread would not exist and you would be off doing more important things. |

naijatisumi: Sorry HOUSE please i need answers to some question ...GURU in the house do assist Thanks OMG I have been denied 5 times this year twice for summer admit and thrice against Fall Admit even when have coach two of my friend aside my wife now in the US...Oh well am sure my time will COME. However my question goes does>>>
1.Now i plan going on F2, REALLY NEED TO SEE MY woman before January 2018 or so cause she will be due to give birth for Oct.Meanwhile doing my F1 application i did not include the fact that my WIFE is now in the US hope I wont have issues with the F2 application
2. She run an insurance through the school where she pay 600dolls which cover 3month medical checkUP,Also the school claim they will cover 90% of the payment on delivery while she will have to pay the outstanding 10%. My challenge is hope this will not be included on her application or history that the government paid more like a medicare
3. What are my chances on F2 VISA and what exactly can be done...I just don't wish to shoot myself with any issue for now.
Please genuine answers...Forgive any typo Thanks Applying 6 times in the same year screams one thing - desperation. Why not apply as a B1/B2 and indicate you are simply going to visit? An F2 indicates you are going to stay with your wife as the dependent of a student. Neither you nor her are allowed to work (she can do 20 hours/week after the first year) so how do you explain how you both are going to survive financially? Well i suppose i was to "motivate" you too. |

Sometimes, you need to motivate someone in order to get the best out of him regardless of the situation. I'm unclear what the above means. I'll simply ignore the previous uncouth poster. |

JayMartins: Hello everyone! I greet you all!
Please I need help. I have had F1 visa interview for 3 times. I have a student visa for Austria but have not yet started my studies there only learning the language yet.I had already 2 denials in Austria based on lack of social ties. I just came back to Nigeria to have another one but was still denied. My school in NY opens on the 28 of this August and I had an interview today been 21 of August. Please dear friends help me out.
Thanks! You seem to lack any focus, other than running away from Nigeria. You're on a student visa in Austria yet have applied 3 times for a student visa to the US. Why? What is wrong with the Austrian schools? |

manifest: Your analysis was based on the fact that the applicant does not have much funds. This is wrong. There could have been a lot of other factors for rejection. The applicant was denied after the VO asked for the job responsibilities. Possibly, the VO isn't convinced about the job responsibilities? A lot of people earn less that 250k and still get visas on a daily basis. Also, 3000 dollars is just about right for a trip to NY. The only concern I would have as a VO is that how could someone spend his or her YTD savings on a two weeks trip to NY? You just repeated everything i said. Also, note i highlighted the fact that the OP knows no one in the US - so that he/she does not have anyone else to defray any costs. $3000 is right for a 2-week trip to NY IF you have someone to stay with (zero costs for accommodation, food and possibly transportation). |

olystic: My interview goes
Vo- Good morning Me- Good morning Vo- you going for vacation Me- Yes Vo- where in the us are you going Me- New York Vo- do you know anybody there Me- no Vo- Have you travelled out of the country Me- Yes,I told him during my last leave holiday I travelled to South Africa, Kenya Vo- Where do you work Me- told him where I work and my job position Vo- how much do you earn in a month Me- 345504 NGN Vo- how long have you been saving for this trip Me- since beginning of the year Vo- how long have you been working Me- 4 years Vo- walk me through what you do when you resume at your place of work Me- explained to him what I do at my place of work The next thing he hands me the blue paper saying on the paper explained why I do not qualify for a visa at this time. Could someone explain to me where I got it wrong This is pretty simple to be honest. You earn approximately $950 per month and you want to take a vacation in NY. You've been saving for this trip for 7 months... Lets assume you were about to save approximately 50% of all you've earned in that time, you basically have $3300 saved up for this trip. Now i presume that the flight ticket alone will cost no less than $1000. that leaves you with approximately $2300. Again, you're going to spend your vacation in NY, one of the most expensive cities in the US. Let's assume you intend to spend no more than a week in NYC, you have roughly $330/day to spend. You know nobody in the US, so you will certainly be staying in a hotel. The cheapest hotels in NYC will charge you at least $100/night... so really you have only $230/day to spend on food, transportation, tickets to sightseeing locations... The bottomline is that you really do not make enough money to waste it all on a vacation that is of no benefit to you. there are cheaper places in Nigeria to spend a vacation. |

moufpeas: Hi everyone. Here is my my profile....im single 29 years old. I have a fledgling company which I incorporated in dec 2016 in the UK. I visited the UK twice this year in respect to my company work. My company is an online music service. I earn around 450k a month (£1000) on the average. I had my masters in the UK btw 2013 and 2015. My parents and my brother are based in get UK as citizens. My sis is married she's in Lagos. I have not worked by july 2015 when I returned to naija and Dec 2016 when I returned to UK to incorporate my company. In a nutshell I I want to visit my friend in new York and also want to explore and discover more about about the American music scene in respect to my work
Please do i have a strong case with respect to my ties as I'm applying from naija. 2. I have been refused us visa before while I was studying in the UK in 2014 as they said I don't have ties then 3. I have been refused canada visa 2 ce last year and this year...i dunno IF if that has any effect
Thanks in anticipation . More likely that you'll be denied again. the problem is you really have no ties at all. |
