Same situation with my sister. Actually, someone showed me an info from NYSC I suppose that it's site issue and people should expect it at least 7 to 9 days before camp. Like they are putting everything on a hold. So many issues, me sef wey dey help person do am don tire. That's what I hate about the Nigerian system. If they know they are not capable of handling online matters well, they shouldn't start it at all. If the number of online visitors to Amazon site in the US come on NYSC site, that means the website go blow out of existence be dat... Yeye pple.

provided you have filled all the necessities... after printing your green card, then you are through... Posting will be out by some days to camp. That's when you will print out the call up letter which was what you paid for.

I mean the green card page is not bringing our anything when i click on print: just this is better viewed with Internet Explorer and Mozilla...blah blah

What's next after successful payment? Can't see anything on the green slip of a thing....will they send another link to email. My sis. is worried.

In addition to what I said earlier about some US citizens renouncing their citizenship - one of the co-founders of Facebook, Eduardo Saverin, renounced his US citizenship for Singapore before Facebook went public with the initial public offer. What could have caused this? Your guess is as good as mine - Uncle Sam!

Well, that's a rip-off oo.. Actually, why is the freelancing world so different. No tax of 30%....oh,I forgot, most of them are not even American companies... Fiverr I think is mainly Israeli, freelancer is Australian... But I think others like Upwork don't take tax despite being American. Different rules I guess.

If we had a tax treaty, it would have been, maybe 5—15%. You can't make money from US without being taxed. US is the land of taxation!

To make it worse, even money earned by US citizens from overseas are taxed. What do you have to say about that?

That's why some US citizens renounce their citizenship and pick up citizenship of a tax-friendly country.

Amazon doesn't work with IP, they work based on the data you provided in your account. You chose Nigeria as your country when you filled your tax information, didn't you?

The withholding tax rate would have been lesser if Nigeria had tax treaty (agreement) with the US, but unfortunately we don't!

Let me understand because if my calculation is what actually I'm thinking, then it's a rip-off. That means Uncle Sam as a whole (30% for Amazon, another 30% for Tax) = 60% of your revenue. Total sales is $100. So, I will most likely have $40 as take home. Right? Mk82

Well, I don;t know, let me just speak on my personal experience. I have a book on men's health that sustains me. It sells the most out of all my other books. I started out selling it for .99, I wasn't selling so much. So, I was like, what the heck, I don't have nothing to loose if I move it up to $2, and so I did. I started selling more than I was while it was at .99. Then I took a big risk and moved it to $5.99. I don't sell as much as I was selling while it was at $2.99, but I make more money now. I guess it has to do with how important the book is to the people you are marketing it to. Sometimes, having a higher price on a book give people the impression that the book is of more quality.

I read in an article that most people will buy an ebook without blinking if it's priced at $0.99, but for the life of me I can't imagine slaving away to research and write a book to sell at that ridiculous amount. Same article also said $2.99 is still a fair price so my prices are just that and I am getting sales.

Funny enough the only book I have at $0.99 hardly sells more than 2 copies a month. Does anyone price their books higher? How's the sales?.

Next time, use Fidelity bank.. Their rate is within 192-193/$1 and sometimes N200. I run from those popular banks. Also, you can download Payoneer Android app, and change it to naira view to check the amount you have in local currency.
