First of all which country did you get the invitation letter for? If it's UK, then you need more than the invitation letter sent to you by the person.You need the person to also send his or her passport visa page status,Bank statements,payslips,mortagage papers and of course he has to fill the sponsorship form which will mean him attesting the listed documents above by a notary.(This is applicable to you if it is uk you are intending to travel to).
The other aspect you need to do is your side,your status here in Nigeria,ur educational qualifications, statements if you are co -sponsoring with your host,evidence to show that you have ties to your home country(that is anything you can show to them at the Embassy that you will return home).I think this should help, more assitance will surely come in.

I beg to disagree Sir! The Date of this notice is not the day the ECO refuses the application but it is the the in which the applicant gets the decision in which case is the day the applicant collects his package from the VFS.!

I want to agree with Pahtakee on this, the date start counting from the day you collect your application from the VFS.Cuase immediately it will be entered in the system which will mak eit to become a refernce point for who ever is acessing it.
A lot of factors come to play that one cant start counting the refusal notice from the date stamped on the passport(which is mostly laziness on the part of the guys at the commission,they have already apssed a decsion and they are telling you your package has not yet been sent to the VFS).I am talking from experience sha and cause counting from the dates the refusal notice was stamped on the passport, there was no way I could meet up with the appeal, but counting from the day I got my application package from the VFS, i met up with the deadline and even AIT sent a notice of acknowledgement to me stating that they have sent the same letter to BDHC giving them a deadline to send in whatever they call bundle.
In summary sha, it starts counting from the day you collect your application package!
