ebukajay184: Nigeria’s Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has said that Nigeria can use its abundant berries and “ogogoro” to produce hand sanitisers.
According to IgbereTV reports, the former governor of Lagos revealed this when he spoke on Wednesday in Abuja at a forum organised by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Fashola said the hand sanitiser he used while entering the event was imported from China.
The minister asked businesses in the country to take advantage of locally-sourced materials to engage the crisis. “This crisis may produce Nigeria’s finest hours. We must not panic, if the human capital I see here consistently engages this crisis, we will have a workable outcome,” Fashola said. “When I came into this place, I had to use hand-sanitisers imported from China.
“We have berries in Plateau and Ogogoro all over Nigeria. Why are our MSMEs not making these sanitisers?”
Recall that in the aftermath of Nigeria’s index positive coronavirus case, many Nigerians began panic buying of hand sanitizers which led to a price hike. The product has also become scarce. Global health organisations had advised people to maintain good hygiene by washing their hands always, especially with alcohol-based sanitisers, as a way of preventing the virus.
I don't know what is wrong with these yoruba people sef.
All southern corpers are deployed to the south. Easterners serve in either SW or SS; Westerners are deployed to either SS or SE and SS corpers are deployed to either SW or SE.
These afonjas still insisted on going to the north are mad!
GeneralTopic: Ever since Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was ousted as the emir of Kano, by the Kano State Government, I have been reading comments in here like...
"they can never try this with (Inserts the name of one compound chief from a remote village)"
"the government will never attempt to uninstall (inserts the name of a family chief)"
Bla Bla Bla...
See, there is Royalty and there is Royalty. There are momentous levels to this game that goes beyond our 50 kobo sentiments...
The aura and charisma a traditional stool oozes, together with its historical progression and significance is how it will be treated...
Apart from these SS3 boys below:
Ooni of Ife Oba of Benin (this particular one is nobody's mate) Sultan of Sokoto
Your traditional ruler is at the mercy of the state government. The government will install and uninstall him like a mobile app and nothing will happen... It is a very bitter pill to swallow. I know that. But let's resist the urge to argue about "realism" and "idealism" today... On this discourse, please ignore what is ideal and rather talk about what is obtainable.
Built2last: Nigeria..HOME OF TOO MANY DUMB PEOPLE with fine fine degrees.
I have taken all you on this task.
Sanusi speaking against illiteracy in the north? What the hell are you talking about? His emirates has billions in their coffer, what did he do with them? How many kids were taken off the street via his foundation or initiative?
He spoke against poverty in the north? Where is his empowerment scheme, taking young people off the street and teaching them self sustaining handiworks.
I have presented facts in both his public life and royal life....list his impact, stop telling me how urbane he is, who the hell is talking about eloquence?
Beside these arrays of explosively expensive cars in a Kano that has the highest OUT OF SCHOOL KIDS, tell me what made him exceptional that you are talking about him at the presidency. Una don start another misadventure?
You guys will keep wobbling, fumbling and talking nonsense from every opening in your body.
Don't bring your emotions here, come with facts.
There is one quick way of challenging the status quo, start fixing the issues.
The other young Emir in Gombe or so, has thousands of kids in school on his expense, this one kept throwing words around, claiming to accuse the northern elites of the same SINS, him and his fathers participated in incubating.
You can clap for him for talks, cars and nothing else.
The world has gone too shallow abeg.
NB: The arrays of cars in this garage will be close to HALF A BILLION. That was how you guys started the nonsense of Buhari loving the poor.
The on going trial of Oguche (the Nyanya bomber) and his gang has been suspended. A trial within trial will take place to determine whether their confessional statements would be admissible or not at the main trial.
According to their lawyers, their defendants claimed whatever statements they made in the first place were made under duress: the claimed they were tortured to confess! So the lawyers submitted that the statements should be accepted as evidence in the court.
This was why the judge adjoined the case, so as to allow the trial within trial.
Source: Channels Television News. 6.00 am of 21st May, 2015.
Points to ponder: What if the the court rejects the confessional statements? What if those statements were the only solid "evidence" the prosecutors have? What if the Oguche guy and his gang are let to go for lack of convincing evidence?
A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the two counts terrorism charges against the suspected mastermind of the bombing of the Nyanya Motor Park in Abuja, Aminu Ogwuche.
Ogwuche was repatriated from Sudan, where he fled to after the bombing of the park, in which no fewer than 75 persons died.
BishopMagic: In 1995 no western nation was willing to grant Sanusi asylum after he was conditionally released by Abacha from Sokoto prison to proceed on exile from where he was incarcerated and waiting the hang man's noose for orchestrating sectarian riots in Kano.
The only country willing to accept Sanusi was Sudan.
Sudan is where radicalization begins or perfected for most nutterners.
Northern Nigeria proudly called their territory prior to British occupation west Sudan and the likes of Shekau have referred to the whole geographical polity known as Nigeria as western sudan in several of his ranting videos.
Sudan is the "fountain" of jihad. Uthman Dan Fodio came to Nigeria after studying in Khartoum.
The Mahdist movement is very well alive and kicking with more and more nutterners sending their wards to Khartoum to undergoe western and Islamic education.
You may also note that, the current Sudannese president Omar Bashir has been indicted by the ICC and an international warrant of arrest placed on his head for his role in supporting Janjawiid militias in their ethno-religious genocidal quest.
That did not stop the sectional bigot from sending his deputy to attend the inauguration of Omar Bashir into another term in office.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
This Sanusi you are here holding unsolicited counsel for is a confirmed extremist and Arab supremacists.
His links to organized terrorism and terrorists alike has been confirmed with the likes of Oguche (the Nyanya bomber), Abdul Mutallab the underwear bomber and his prodigy, Osama bin laden (during his exiled stay in Sudan during the Abacha era), his shameless promotion and adoption of a Islamic norms into our financial system through Jaiz Bank, his role in the Gideon beheading as an inciteful act to cause secular riots and then see the removal of the late Ado Bayero by Abacha and finally his murderous conspiracy and hands in the murder of the late Emir of Kano.
NwekeUG: This man seems to know very much about our problems more than any other Nigeria leader I have seen as he disects the problems of Nigeria in his lecture.
His lecture is better than most empty election campaign manifestoes I have seen in Nigeria.
But ethnicity, religion and bad politics won't allow Nigerians see clearly inorder to Identify true leaders. So sad!!!
uniquetechng: Inadequately served means the punishment is inadequate.
That could be another angle.
After all, we all do agree that Obasanjo was being sly and cryptic.
But again considering that OBJ was very close to Ado Bayero and that the latter's death was highly suspicious given the timing, I will go with this your interpretation.
ooduapathfinder: Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the first version of this message was published on February 2, 2018; repeated on September 29, 2019. And now further reiterated. You are arguably the most effective political leader of the Yoruba Nation today, regardless of any assumptions as a pan-Nigerian leader. You are engaged in a life and death struggle with the forces of darkness ravaging Nigeria.
It is written: “Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them. God has spoken once; Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work” ----------Psalm 62:10-12
The Nigerian Post-Colonial State is not right in the sight of God; accommodating it as a condition for achieving power is doing evil in the sight of God.
Lebensraum, the oppression of the Peoples---Northern (Fulani) ambition to “dip the Koran in the sea” as stated by Ahmadu Bello; Biafra’s invasion of the Mid West and later on, the West; and aided by previous military adventurism, its current relentless pursuit by the Muhammadu Buhari Regime.
Prebendalism, its formal route to wealth accumulation and distribution; increasing its riches through inhuman exploitation of the Niger Delta along with the robbery of the commonwealth of the Peoples of Nigeria.
The Nigerian Post-Colonial State is conditioned by the type of power that does not belong to God.
The mercy of God, to render to each one according to the good or evil work in His sight.
The fortunes of Yoruba Nation as a major factor in Global African Emancipation is not limited to Nigeria’s geo-political confines and therefore cannot be constrained by it.
Historically, all efforts at mixing the fortunes of the Yoruba with that of the Nigerian colonial architecture had always ended up in misfortune for the Yoruba.
It is not fortuitous that the only manifestation of our potentials was through the attainment of Autonomous Self-Government between 1951 and 1959.
All attempts to dissolve our particularities into Nigerian generalities had always ended disastrously.
This is not an advocacy for a Yoruba National Purity. Our history as a welcoming and tolerant people, very accommodating to non-Yoruba People, testify to this.
60 years after political Independence in Africa, the colonial architecture is unable to engender any form of development for her various Peoples. The continent is merely a playground for International economic forces with a capability to reproduce its own internal elites for continuation of its economic hegemony while her hapless Peoples continue to wallow in deep material poverty, as well as poverty of understanding.
Sustaining this economic playground requires a political façade, often procured through periodic cycle of elections usually dubbed as democracy, where victors in all African countries seem to have only one prescription for Africa’s development, to wit: foreign investment, foreign investment and foreign investment, supposedly aimed at creating jobs for the youths coupled with finely woven words on economic development.
This, in direct and violent contradiction with the iron law of global dominance, where further economic development outside their spheres automatically shrinks their economic and political power.
An economic philosophy that places human development at the core of policy therefore becomes mandatory; manifesting through the recognition of the People as Nations in themselves, which the Nigerian Post-Colonial State seeks to destroy.
It is written: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’ Mathew 13: 14-15
We have seen, we have heard how France took away even the smallest light bulbs from Guinea in “protest” against Guinea’s preference for Independence; we have seen, we have heard how the then Soviet Union removed all of her technical expertise, including industrial blueprints, from China in “protest” against Chinese pursuit of an independent foreign policy; we have seen, and continue to see the protection of “intellectual property” through the instrumentality of various “trade” agreements in operation today, all in aid of sustaining the iron law of global dominance. By which we know that there can be no beneficial “direct foreign investment”.
We have seen the establishment of post-colonial armed forces of state whose primary responsibility is the suppression of the expectations of the Peoples, to wit: the “Kill and Go” Mobile Police created specifically to suppress Middle Belt agitation for their own Region; the Nigerian Armed Forces(Army, Navy and Air Force) with no discernible external threat hence turning their attention into internal repression, their mere physical presence on the streets, individually or collectively, radiates oppression; the Nigeria Police Force daily terrorizing the People; the internal security agencies operating at the whim of whoever is in power.
All of which are covered under a fraudulent legitimacy.
Obafemi Awolowo attempted to reverse this phenomenon by combining the best of capitalist development and its social imperatives with a decidedly YORUBA world view, via the anti-colonial imperative of coming into being of the Yoruba Nation as a Nation in and for itself, the rationale behind the agitation for True Federalism anchored on Ethno-Lingual Categories.
He also attempted to introduce this paradigm into the rest of Nigeria, with each Nationality/Culture as its own paradigm and the story of his experience is very well known.
M.K.O Abiola spent a large part of his financial fortunes in pursuit of Islamic development in the North, again, within a strategic political objective. Northern Muslims voted massively for him but when the time came to take up a stand against the then looming military shenanigans, they balked, largely because another “northern” Muslim would take over; the current head of the Nigerian Post-Colonial State, Muhammadu Buhari, a major beneficiary.
And you know how they famously refused to be part of the pan-Nigerian coalition against the annulment of a fellow Muslim’s election thereby leaving the opposition to only the Yoruba, Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
In both instances, Nationality prerogatives trumped religious affinity; therefore, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while you do not play up your religious affiliations, you must embrace Self-Determination or Autonomy for the Nations, in any quest for political power in Nigeria.
This had been relegated to the background; and why Yoruba National Imperatives become confused with a pan-Nigerian agenda, all in the name of developing Nigeria into a modern geo-political entity.
Aiming for Nigeria’s presidency is not the way; neither is it a matter of a new coalition for power and certainly not in retaining Nigeria’s current political economy.
Self-Determination/Autonomy for all the Peoples of Nigeria is the way.
It is the Golden Bullet.
Any form of Southern/Middle Belt solidarity, any handshake across Eastern or Northern Niger, MUST be anchored on Self-Determination/Autonomy for ALL.
The National Assembly has thrown the gauntlet. You MUST pick it up. The bus is waiting for its driver.
Perchance others may foot-drag, the Yoruba Nation must not be carried along that route. The Yoruba Nation does not need to wait on them before pushing ahead.
This is what you MUST champion: The Nationalities engaging the National Assembly by way of their own Constitutional Conventions and whose conclusions will be ratified by their Nationality Referendums. The basis for a Federal Constitution.
That which I have heard from the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.
Obasanjo's letter to former Emir Sanusi was cryptic enough to elicit much debate.
Obasanjo condoled with Sanusi over what he described as '' sad because it was undeserved'' but will later state that ''it was good because you have paid the price''.
In ''paying the price'', did Obasanjo see Sanusi as a persecuted monarch whose only sin was that he spoke the truth on the malaise afflicting the Muslim north? Or was there more to it?
Sanusi's ascension to the throne in 2014 couldn't have come at a better timing to both him and the APC. This was only possible because the then reigning monarch, Ado Bayero had suddenly died.
Ado Bayero, can best be described as a centrist with a nationalistic approach. The man had always been one of the only few voices of moderation from the north. Obasanjo knew him personally and held Bayero as friend and a confidant. Obasanjo even owes his life to Ado Bayero for providing him safe haven in his palace during the counter-coup of 1966. Their friendship could not be understated.
The timing of Bayero's death as I earlier stated could not have been more appropriate for both Sanusi and the APC who weaponized the throne for political gain.
There have been rumors surrounding the real cause of Bayero's death that he did not die of natural causes but was actually murdered to facilitate his replacement with Sanusi.
Was Obasanjo referring to Ado Bayero's sudden and convenient death in his letter to Sanusi?
The Gideon riots in the mid-90's was ochestrated by Sanusi towards seeing the removal of Ado Bayero.
The then supreme head-of-state, Gen. Abacha had sent a stern warning to all traditional heads that any civil unrest, protests or disturbances within their domain will be blamed on them and from there they would be dethroned.
It is widely believed that Sanusi orchestrated this riot to see to Ado Bayero being dethroned by Abacha.
Abacha had recently deposed the then Sultan of Sokoto.
Can we rule out the rumors of Ado Bayero being murdered in light of Sanusi's past instigation?

rummmy: here we go,appointments and jobs in Nigeria is by connection and not by merit... One wonders why we are not developing..... When he was praising apc all was well but now he spoke against apc, his sins are no more forgiven.... We all can not be fooled.
Kundagarten: Not even president Buhari together with NASS can dethrone the Oba of Benin. The reason is that only the first son of an Oba becomes an oba.
No other king in Nigeria has that previledge.
Forget story.
The President can remove him and replace him with another dynasty.
