Prof R I P.This tells u how insincere the nigerian security apparatus is, a night curfew has been imposed on motorcycles for months in that LGA(Sabon Gari) bt the police r not there to enforce it.Some 4 persons were killed by gunmen in this same LGA two days ago.Some months ago,an Igbo guy disguising himself as BH was arrested for threatening nd assassinatng his fellow tribesmen,but we've not heard from the authorities of the outcome of his trial.What I believe is that there is an evil syndicate behind some of these acts in high govt offices coupled wit the fact that there is also the real BH esp. in Borno nd Yobe.

Huda tv is one of the best english-speaking channels i know.It features eminent islamic scholars like Dr Zakir Naik,Yusuf Estes,Muhammad Salaah etc.I have been trying to connect to it since it went off air on Nilesat some months ago;but wasnt successful.Pls if u have any info on how i will tune to it,assist me?If u also know other islamic channels i can connect to on Nilesat,pls provide d info? Going by the corruption in LGs ,one may suggest for their scrapping.But looking critically at the structure, u will see that LG is the closest to the masses,it consists of depts such as works,education,health,agric and others.In my LG,there is only little achievements to show for the past 10 yrs.In some LGs,workers only come to office to collect their salaries(you hear them saying 'matar bursar ta haihu' trans. 'the bursar's wife has delivered a baby').It is in LGs that you find all the children of a worker payrolled,collecting salaries every month.
Flipping to the other side, the meagre amount budgeted for an LG is not helping matters.Afterall how much does it cost to construct a 1 km tarred road in 9ja?.Another case is the joint account operated btw LGs and SGs further reducin the monthly allocation to the LGs.
But for the 'municipal' system,i dont much abt it.Can someone pls elaborate on it so that we weigh the pros nd cons?

Salaah is the greatest of the practical pillars of Islam.It is the act that separates between one and shirk (The Prophet(PBUH) said:'Between a man and shirk i.e what protects him from shirk,is the abandonment of salaah[Muslim]).Allah(S.W.T) said in the glorious Qur'an :'..,and stand before Allah with obedience'[Q2:238]
As for khushoo'(humility) in prayer,it is a part of salaah that most of us have neglected in our obligatory and supererogatory prayers.Some of us just imitate the imam physically by following only his gestures.If you may ask somebody the surah that was recited in a particular salaah(eg maghrib) ,he may not be able to reply correctly.This as a result of negligence of khushoo'.
Some of the ways one can develop khushoo' in his heart during salaah are as follows:
1.Preparing oneself for prayer properly(performing ablution properly,repeating the words of adhaan after the muazzin,siwaak etc)
2. Moving at a measured pace during prayer i.e no hastening
3. Remembering death whilst praying
4.Pondering over the verses and invocations being recited.(Here,the knowing the translation of the verses and also Qur'anic exegesis is advantageous).
5.Reciting in a slow,beautiful and rhythmic tone
6.Praying with a barrier in front of one
7.Placing the right hand on the left hand on the chest
8. Looking at the place of prostration
9. Moving the index finger during tashahhud
10.Seeking refuge with Allah from the Shaytaan
