So I deferred my admission to fall semester but my ielts I used for admission is over 2 years, will I have to write another ietls?

Ask your school, they are the best to tell you since it was valid as the time you got admission.

You messed everything up when you used school account. They are assuming your school will sponsor you and they might have seen enough funding in the schools account. Well all hope is not lost, send a pm to GboyegaD, so he can help you construct a good write up that you can send to them. Am available to help too.

I used my school account sir, but they said they can't sponsor me .. just for i20 and interview sir

Well you shouldn't have rushed to use your school account rather ask for advise like you are doing now, on how to get financial aid from the school. Now, Harvard might think your school is sponsoring you. GboyegaD asked you should private message him so he can assist you in contacting the school for financial aid.

Harvard is need blind se,they would fund him. Ivy league admission is a juicy cake, when someone get it,let's try to advise them on getting aid instead of asking them to throw it away and look for some other schools

Well i responded without knowing Harvard offers full ride scholarship for all, if your family earns under 65,000$ and i didn't advised him to throw it away. He asked if he can work & study to pay the tuition fees and i suggested he look for schools that can offer full ride scholarship if he can't get sponsor. Anyway, Lagosismyhome has advised him properly.

Yeah, that was why I modified his post when I read it a second time. I am guessing he might be confusing I20 with admission letter.

He is yet to respond to clarify things. I guess we should wait for him to resonse

He should NEVER throw away an ivy league admission because of full ride in another school when he can enjoy the same at Harvard.

We are talking of if he doesn't have the scholarship, should he continue? No one will throw away full scholarship from an ivy league school. He is yet to respond how he got his i20 without providing proof of funding

Proof of funding is somewhat insignificant to big schools like Harvard. They are more concerned about admitting the best and suitable students. Harvard has the ability to guarantee financial aid for admitted students based on needs assessment, and remember most students at Harvard are from the top 1% family income size.

They can't release i20 without you having full scholarship that covers your tuition and living expenses or bank statement that covers it. So, I was wondering how he got his i20.

Are you seriously asking him to dump Harvard admission for a lower ranked university because of funding? Rather, I think he should contact Harvard financial office for funding opportunities and I'm certain he will be considered, especially if the admission was based on merit. Harvard has the biggest endowment as compared to any university in United State.

Someone has suggested he mail the school. But if there is no financial aid from the school for him, what's your advise? Kill himself on top bills or take up huge loan? Harvard isn't the only top school in USA. There are many others that will offer him full ride scholarship. He is brilliant and with his grade that got him into Harvard, he will definitely get full scholarship from other schools if nothing comes from Harvard. My advise is against attending the school without any form of assistance as he can't foot the bills alone by working and studying.

Same way you prove you have income.... pay slips, tax return, bank statement etc

How did he get his i20 without providing proof to show he has funds. I know they don't release i20 without seeing proof of available funds.

House please I need your help..I applied to Harvard University and I was accepted..I cried the whole of yesterday when I receive my i20 but was not given any scholarship .
am 17 years old.i finished school last year..
now my problem is that my parent can't afford the school fees, so I want to know if I can be studying and working at the same time (outside campus) even if it means falling out of status I don't care because I know that I will find a better work after graduation that will file for my permanent stay ..my principal promise to give me the school account to use for sponsorship but can't pay for my school fees... please how much can I earn while working outside the school, can it pay my fees?..I am a hardworking and also very brilliant .I don't want to miss this great opportunity please help me out

Falling out of status means you are no longer in school and illegal in the USA. Harvard school fees is very expensive and it's not what you can work and pay. Please search for schools that will give you scholarship if you can't get a sponsor to Harvard university.

No school can force or demand a Vo to issue visa. It at the discretion of the Visa officer .

You can ask the school to write and come and share your experience with us so we can hear but most likely that letter is nothing

Only in Netherlands grin

Good morning house, Does the VO actually have access to confirm if you applied to the schools, you claimed you applied to?

Some V.O might ask to see the admission letters from the schools you claimed to have gotten admission. Then if you can't provide it, you have shot yourself in the leg.

However,I tried checking out for this school (Academy of the art university,San Fransico),but the search came back blank.

This school is an unranked university in the U.S, I will advise you look for better school.

I don't see any good reason for someone to apply to any of those schools. Most of them are just "small private universities" aka visa mills and they don't even give financial aid.

I always advise people to apply to flagship state universities eg University of x (where x = a US state) or x State University.

A lot of the Universities of x are public schools that are far better than these schools with accreditation issues.

A lot of stubborn people won't listen.

Agents use those schools mostly and they are all looking for cheap admission since those universities doesn't require standardized test for top programs.

Thanks.
I just checked the school using the homeland security database and yes,the school was listed.

Well, If am you, I will avoid schools under ACICS as their accreditation were revoked in 2016 and later reinstated temporarily in April 2018. Students going to the embassy with those schools might get visa refusal as ACICS recognition isn't in full force yet.

Here is a link to know schools under ACICS :

http://personify.acics.org/ACICSMemberDirectory.aspx

Some of the popular ones used by Nigerians are:

1. iGlobal University
2. Virginia International University
3. California Miramar University
4. Northwestern Polytechnic University
5. Bryan University
6. Lincoln University, CA
7. Colorado Heights University
8. Stratford University
9. Pacific Institute of Technology
10. University of North America
11. Texas Health and Science University

Here is the announcement of Department of Education on this issue.

https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/2016/12/acics-loss-of-accreditation-what-it-means-for-schools-and-international-students

My advise is for students is to avoid schools under ACICS until it's fully recognised by the U.S Department of Education

Good morning house, please I need clarification as regards my sevis fee.
I went for interview last December and was denied, I then differed my admission to may. What is not clear to me is that, I was given the same sevis number by the school, Is there need to link the new sevis number although it's the same number on the former form i-20

There is no need to link anything. It's same sevis ID you already paid for. Just attend your interview when the time comes

Because an average 18 year old Nigerian does have an online platform or easy access to an online platform to publicize his plan to you doesn't mean he has no plans.

And you think Nigerian undergraduates don't write scholarship applications. Will you like to know the exploits of 16years old in my alma mater during my time and even now? Do you know how many scholarships I and my friends had through school in Nigeria.

I don't know what you have against Nigeria. And there are smart people everywhere and it's a fact that the not smart will always outweigh the smart in every society.

So my theory that "most Americans are not smart" will always be true even if it bursts your bubble

With your theory, you can as well say "most Nigerians are not smart". Case closed!
