Hello guyz.
I need responds to this pls.
I graduated from high school since 2014 about four years ago and it took me 2years to get into the university, I am in my year 2, but my sponsor wants me to leave the country now. What should I tell them at the embassy? Am 20years. My course is psychology in Houston community college.

Pls Admins look into it and react.

Why not complete your bachelor's degree and do your master's degree abroad. Life is not easy anywhere, take your time and don't rush it. Hope you know that Bachelor's degree is very expensive abroad compared to even master's degree?

Also the bsc you will get from your present school valued more by employers than the degree you will get from that community college.

The US does not generally restrict which embassies a person may apply for a non immigrant visa from. U can apply for non immigrant visa especially b1/b2 from within almost any country u have entered legally but it is always strongly recommended to apply any visa from ur own home country because the country u visited in this case Canada is not experience in evaluating application from anyone except Canadian residents and the application may be denied because they might not be equipped enough to verify ur information. If u are fortunate to be interviewed in Canada for F1 Visa u will still need to prove home tie as a Nigerian. I hope this help? I also stand to be corrected. Good luck

You said it all. wink

Please House, I have a challenge. Don't know if anyone has come across someone with same or similar case as this before.

Here is my issue.
I was previously delayed last year December 2017 and I deferred my admission till Spring 2019. (I paid my SEVIS last year 2nd of November, 2017).

Now my new i20 has arrived but I noticed it has same SEVIS number as I had Last Year. Now on th SEVIS I901 website, they are refusing me from making a fresh SEVIS payment stating the following message:

The information you provided matches payment records already in the system. A new payment may not be required.

We can only accept Check, Money Order or Western Union for your I-901 Fee.

I am confused and stuck as I am hearing sevis expires in a year but yet mine is saying I already having a payment matched in the system.

The SEVIS I901 website after showing an error/ refusal message popping up the screen asked me to mail them for Payment Verification on one email address like that which I have also done and they are yet to reply for over 4 days now.

Who has an idea what else I can do as that's the only thing delaying me from scheduling for an interview and available dates already show January 15th or so. (though I want to book for expedient appointment when I eventually book).

Thank you.

Oh I know the issue you are experiencing

Hey! You must apply from your home country. I got your message and have replied. Happy Sunday!

Who says it's a must you apply from your home country ? Don't want to go into this now but not a must.

Jst tot of it now. Cuz d oda guy said I gave to an agent and from d VO she claimed to be sure of wat she was saying dat I graduated so many years ago, and I was also sure of wat I filled too....... Had to think of likely misrepresentations. Can I change d neW DS form to Adeola Memorial Secondary School.

You can use Adeola Memorial Secondary School. Adeola Memorial College High school sounds so odd, don't use that. Rather maintain your Memorial College if you don't want to change. Another V.O might understand it better

What are the likely emergency dates, one could get? I don't know why I'm skeptical about it. Phobia has seeped into my mind already but its not a do or die affair, Germany doesn't teach my prospective program in English, I was already learning the language for simple communication. Its quite hard to plan and timely execute in thus part of the world, the odds are GOLIATHS!

If they approve yours today, you will get close dates like Dec 3, 4, 5, 6 and the likes

No, it's different for student visa. You can apply for emergency within 30days to your program start date.

My mom's account officer is sure the embassy did not contact the bank.

Can someone kindly explain what in God's name is happening, please!

Jeez!! Sorry about this bro. This error keeps repeating itself with Abuja Embassy. I guess all those experiencing this issue went to abuja embassy. Please put a call across to them. It's really frustrating

2nd post.

Dazed, disappointed and scared! I couldn't even process my feelings. Couldn't go back to work, so i went straight home. The interview went very well. The decision to deny was just weird.

Got home. Headed for the shower...spent like half an hour there and all i just wanted to do was recap all that could have gone wrong. Then the VO last words came back. "I'd advice you go through our website to know more about the student visa procedures." Like that's a subtle way of saying " oga olodo, as old as you are, you did not do your due diligence!". Then i figured out what happened.

I filled a new DS-160 form and i didnt give it time to be updated to my profile. Called the customer service number and explained what happened. I was told that I should have allowed at least two working days after filling the DS 160 form before attending my interview. I was told that the CGI officer that asked me to go back and fill the form ought to have advised me to reschedule my appointment. My first reaction? Holy shiit! 57,600 naira rightly spent. Jesus Christ!

Ran out, grabbed my phone and mailed 100kobo. Oga didn't reply on time. I had to come here on the thread to ask him to check his mail. He did and responded after some hours. He was very disappointed to say the least. He encouraged me to 'refire' as he was sure i would be approved. The feeling that i was delayed because of a technical issue (which could have been avoided) gave me joy.

It was around past 3pm already. So i went to the nearest GTBank. Paid the 59,200 amd went home with the determination that i would be approved whenever I faced the next VO. Lol.

Past 6pm now. Decided to take a nap o. Nap turned to deep sleep. Woke up around 11pm. Tried booking an appointment but i couldn't. Slept again, woke up arond 12:25 am on the 22nd. Refreshed the page and i could finally book. Checked for Lagos. Nearest date was January 15. Wahala haff come. Checked Abuja and saw November 27...1 slot! The speed I used to apply ehn. I confirmed the appointment and my mind was at peace.

Reached out to 100kobo cos i felt i needed to work on convincing the VO earlier in the interview. I needed to control the interview. Oga replied and said i shouldn't. He said i would sound desperate. Hmmn. I took his advice and just stuck to my normal plan. God's willing, I would get my approval but I needed to be calm. With all the bad news on NL, i just kept saying, "even if they don't find everyone eligible for a visa in abuja on the 27th, i would walk out with my approval!"

And God heard my prayers...

Congrats bro

Scholarship/school Funding is scarce during spring time and embassy verifies statement of account now. So it's only those with enough personal funds will go for their interview

Anybody here?

You can only cancel your appointment once and the visa fee you paid will still be valid for a year. So the person can go ahead cancel the appointment

Supposing I publish an advert on a National Newspaper disowning my parents stating these reasons, and then attach it along with my application to show the V.O that I do not have anything to do with my parents because I don't want their actions to affect me my chances of getting an education in America. Do you think it will sell? Do you think it will make the V.O judge my case for I am, and not my parents?

Why should you go this far... Disowning your parents

Which US embassy has higher chance of granting F1 visa, Lagos or Abuja? Also, which one gives earlier appointment date?

Either Lagos or Abuja, you have equal chances. Lagos has too many applicants than Abuja, so you will get earlier dates in Abuja than Lagos

Since they didn't collect your bank statement during your first interview. I don't think they took note of your sponsor. So that shouldn't bother you.

Yes, just go with a genuine statement the covers everything you have on your i20. Also have good reason why the person is sponsoring you. Then you are good to go.

Have you tried it? You are referring to b1/b2 visa, its different for f1 visa. That's the reason they put that 2months option for previously refused.

Thank you Sir for your reply. The name I used for the school I got admitted to in the US is the correct one and same with the name on my international passport, I20, birth cert, GRE and TOEFL results... So I guess no need for the affidavit... Since only my UG cert and transcript bears my name in the wrong order... And since you said the affidavit serve no purpose during the Visa interview

Then no need, you are good to go.

For visa interview purpose, NO but for school purpose, there is need as you may like to correct your name when you get to your school in US.

Fill same name on your ds 160 and visa appointment form. Use the rightly spelt name as your first name and last name and the other as your middle name.
