Ok I understand your point. The next available spot would have been 2nd January (since 1st is public holiday) if you got approved for emergency appointment instantly when you requested. However, approval would now likely come anytime between Wednesday and Thursday. You will then be able to choose a date after the day your approval comes as your interview date.

It might come 2nd Jan if he has already done it

Thank you Sir for your response. However, when I was bout writing my reason for booking an expedient, the next available date that popped up was 1/2/2019. This is exactly how they wrote it and mind u, they usually put month first before date.

That's what I saw. Never knew an argument would come up, would have done a screenshot yesterday.

What you saw was correct. 2nd Jan 2019 was the earliest appointment if you clicked the emergency appointment option

I know the retired CO who said what you referred to. But it's not to say that no documents won't be checked. The problem with many people is that they follow the rules to the letter without taking exceptions where neccessary (even in situations where the originators of the rule would gladly take exceptions).

Yeah I get you but it's best to present documents only when asked. Atimes its not bad to follow rules as far as you get what you want, oversmartness can destroy things most times. As for your case, let me ask you... how will the V.O verify the document you were about to present since they don't have much time left with them. The only means for them to verify all funding related issues is via your i20/Bank Statement. Any other document can be faked. So i guess that's why she said no need for the document you were about to present. Please let the school include such info on your i20 as remark. There is a space for that on your i20.

Nothing special about the school name... It's in Michigan and very strong in Mechanical Engineering...I originally wanted to apply to University of Michigan

She kept saying she doesn't want to see documents, that's the main personal issue I had with her...

The more you push forward to present documents, the more ingenuine you look to them. A V.O once said that on Quora. Best thing is to present documents only when they ask for it

After pleasantries I passed my passport and I 20

VO:Looks at my I 20 and asked why I choose California miramar university

Me:I choose CMU because the curriculum aligns with my career objectives. They have an impressive 13:1 student to faculty ratio. Moreso, because of the Mediterranean climate

VO: How many schools did you apply to

Me: One

VO:Did you take any standardised test?

Me: No

VO:Have you travelled out of the country before

Me: No

VO: Who is sponsoring you and what does the person do(I forgot to state that I have person funds, it's stated on my I 20)

Me:My aunt. She's the CEO of phoba farms and she's also a civil servant in my state...... Next thing na blue paper

My eyes didn't see a single WHITE PAPER today. Its my first attempt. I did nursing in my first degree now going for MBA with concentration in healthcare management .School resumes February 21

The CMU you went with is a redflag university. Try and get admission in a good university, then reapply. Secondly, having no GRE/GMAT for an MBA course doesn't show any standard for the school.

The I-130 cannot be filed in Nigeria. It must be filed either through the USCIS Chicago lockbox or through their Phoenix lockbox. http://www.uscis.gov/i-130 has complete instructions.

The I-130 cannot be filed overseas at all except in very exceptional circumstances, such as certain military or medical emergencies.

Ur first 3 lines were superb but you failed to give alternative now that USA visa is harder than other countries the dude mentioned...mind u,other countries wouldnt deny u when u meet their criteria

If you want alternative, they are plenty... Germany & Norway offers free education, Finland is there, Ireland is there too but abit expensive. Spain is good too

Visa denied at Lagos embassy yesterday;

Me: Good morning, how are you doing
VO: Good morning

VO: passport, i20
Me: passed

VO: why do you want to study in the US
Me: cos USA has one of the best educational system in the world

VO: what state is UB located
Me: Connecticut

VO: why UB
Me: UB has a center for career development which will help in elevating my career, has smart technology-equipped classrooms. Also, it gives the opportunity of a dual degree. I can run MBA program with it.

VO: why management science
This got me cause the course I'm going for is 'analytics and systems'. Though it's stated on the i20 that SEVIS calls it management science.

Me: It's 'analytics and systems'. It's stated on the i20 that sevis calls it management science. (trying to explain to him)

VO: blue paper

Open for constructive criticism and suggestions. My background is statistics.

Saying sevis calls it management science means you don't know the course you are going for. Business Analytics & Systems is under management science. You should have explained why you want to study management science with concentration in business analytics and systems. Well next time you see such difference in your i20, try to link it together and not put blames on sevis

But can I ask for an extension letter from the university and re-apply?
I need response to this please

Address the reason you were refused, then reapply. Don't rush and dash them another 60k. You will need to confirm from your school if they issue extension letter, not all schools issue it.

Your network beat me to this grin Look how straightforward it is to apply to even MIT. Applying to study in Canada is not a very easy process, even after you get the admission. Plus they still deny people anyhow too.

Lol even Australia will stress you more. Their visa fee is even expensive 540AUD. It's not easy anywhere

How did she know his brother was there. How did she check where his brother was.

He filled in his ds 160 that his brother is in USA. And they have details of every one in the USA, those still in school and those out of status.

With the current high denial rate at the USA embassy of recent even when students demonstrated pure intention and some with full funding still getting denied.

Except you have another ulterior motive in America, a real student applicant who truly desire to further education should simply BOYCOTT the USA and try out other countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand and some other better countries who will evaluate you based on your presented documents and not through "scammy" 2mins interview that will end up in rejection.

There are other countries with good educational system and will also offer PR after studies. All you need to do is extensive research.

Just look at the thread, for over 2 months, I could count up to 40 people who shared interview transcript, just 3 had an approval. I'm not talking about the ones who aren't bold enough to share their delayed transcript, not to talk of the ones outside nairaland.

It obvious that these people don't want us anymore. Even people on administrative processing with authentic bank statements are getting denied afterwards, then why should we continue to dash them 60k all in the name of re-applying?.

If you have been denied twice or thrice, bros, research other countries with good education system that will lead to PR if that's what you want. Like I said, other countries will judge you based on your documents. And even if you are denied, they will tell you the exact reason so that you will know what to work on.

Only the US will deny you with a generic blue paper, tell you that you are free to re-apply again. They will still re-deny you and still re-issue the same generic blue paper.

We know some people have made the whole thing difficult, but my people, US isn't a do or die affair. If they don't want you in their country, simply try another country who will gladly accept you.

Other countries you mentioned are not cheer givers in terms of scholarship and funding plus well recognized degree. Secondly, you will be asked to pay some percentage of your tuition fees in those countries before applying for visa and the tuition fees ain't cheap. USA schools made the process easy for many, that's why students are trooping in to USA. Also, getting visa in those countries you mentioned is not easy too. So there is no where it's easy. Keep trying for any one that works for you, that's all I can say.

this is just wicked. What was your countenance like were you smiling and informal or you were serious and formal? What were you going to study and how much was the cost. Were you interviewed by the black woman?

There is no wickedness in that. They are doing their job. The guy has a brother in same school, that alone shows he is going to the school because of his brother there but he lied that he got to know the school from another source. Those V.Os are well trained and can decode a lie easily

Thanks a lot for this information, my intention at first was to tell them that my brother recommended it to me but I was told by one of the gurus in the house that if I make mention of that it could be a red flag for me bc they might see me as an intending immigrant, so I just came up with something to say.
And yes I filled that I have a brother in the state,it was after my service but same year I applied for a visiting visa

Since you have a brother studying in same school, they knew you heard the school from your brother and what you said made them feel that you are lying. Best thing to do is to apply to other schools maybe in another state, then use the new school next time.

That's a different thing. Schooling nd getting a better job over there to recoup your money is different than using f1 visa to escape and fall out of status. Once you are going to attend school when you get there, you are a genuine student else you are not genuine

Thank you.

How will I go about it? I hope I won’t loose the visa application fee? It was in the hand of an agent before I switched it away from him to schedule an appointment when he was misleading me.
What can I do get new one. Help me, I want to leave the agent out completely.

Fill a new ds 160, then login to your cgifederal account, go to edit your profile section and replace the ds 160 number with the new one

With the way they are denying emergency visa appointment application, i might be tempted to pay another 60k and book appointment in Abuja. My school said they can't give an extension on the resumption date and my appointment date is a day before my start date.

If you haven't rescheduled or cancelled your appointment before. You have one free chance to cancel the appointment and still reuse the MRV number to book again. No need paying another fee

Ubah1, how about if the agent used an email they don't have access to in registering their account? How do they go about it?

They can open new email and repeat the process. The old account will be moved to the new account they created

Do you mean visa agent fee?.
That 200k seem outrageous to me. The highest application fee I have seen is $100 (36,500).

Which school is charging you over $540(200k) for application fee?

Maybe it's for another country own
