As a matter of fact, one would struggle to find a mosque in Benin City.
from auchi to agbede, there is a good number of catholics and a good number of moslims, esan land has very good number of catholics, very few muslims, some protestants and few traditional worshipper, most other parts of edo are catholic, protestants and trad worshippers with few muslims.

This only shows your poor understanding of the scripture.
alentyno: Are you serious?
1.Catholics engage in endless praise of Mary. When a woman praised Jesus' mother to
his face, did Jesus commend encourage this
woman to continue praising Mary?
Answer: Luke 11:27-28
he used to occassion to teach about the covenantal family of God. Mary is also in the number of those who "hears the word of God and keep it". She is doubly blessed for she did not only bear and concieve the redeemer luke 1:42 "blessed are you among women", she also heared the word of God, believed, kept it in her heart and it was fulfilled unto her, lk 1:45 "and blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord".

My dear, Jesus wasn't saying his mother was not blessed, because if he did he would be contradicting the word the holyspirit spoke through elizabeth, Jesus didn't say his mother shouldn't be called blessed because if he did he would be contradicting the word the holyspirit spoke through mary in lk 1:48c "henceforth all generations shall call me blessed".

What he did was use that opportunity to tell the world that those who heard the word and believed were also blessed.

To assert differently will be to contradict scripture

2.The statutes?
"You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any
likeness of what is in heaven above or on the
earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You
shall not worship them or serve them." Exodus
20:4-5
They are many of them but I don't want us to argue till infinity
idols are images that are adored, catholics don't make idols, what we have are religious art like those in ex 25:18-22, religious symbols as in num 21:4-9.

That commandment does not prohibit the making of all images, if you claim it does then you have made scriptures to contradict itself.

In summary Jesus said
"'But in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as
doctrines the precepts of men.' "Neglecting the
commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of
men." He was also saying to them, "You are
experts at setting aside the commandment of God
in order to keep your tradition." Mark 7:7-9
those sayings were unto the pharisees to not to those who have kept the historic christian teachings. The church didnt invent the practice of praising mary, it was prophesied in scripture in luk 1:48 and it continues from the 1st century of christianity untill this day. The church didn't invent the art of making images, God himself made a visible image of himself in the incarnation of Jesus, "he is the image of the invisible God" col 1:15, and God never condemned all and every image, if he did, there wouldn't be a image of the cherubim, and since the 1st cent of christianity there has continued to be images to this day.

We don't cook up dogmas, we don't invent stuff, that is the work of the new age churches...sacred art and the honoring has been a part of christainity, and if you were a good student either the bible or christian history you would have known this.

Have a nice day.

italo: Many times, ecorcisms are not successful...or conclusive at first attempt.
i have a feeling the excorcism was successful. The problem i believe is the follow up.

When you excorcise a demon and it goes, it will look for a new host, if it does not readily find one it will go back to its old host.

If the excorcised didn't follow up excorcism with prayer, he/she will be possessed by more demons.

I just happen to find this case funny.

PAGAN9JA: The priest dude has no common sense. In his greed to stay in office, he decides to ignore the case of child abuse by his own church member. She is a 14 yr old and considering that age he couldnt help her.

of what use is this confession nonsense then?
the confession is an avenue to confess your sin, it usually starts with "bless me father for i have sined", it is considered sacred communication under civil law and thus is exempt from madatory reporting, thus it is not an avenue to report crimes, and if you do report crimes the best the priest can do is tell you to "tell someone else" either your parents or the police.

We still cannot even know if the said confession took place.

superior1: Common sense should have told the Priest to look for a way of protecting the child instead of ravaging the gory details of her molestation but what do one expect from pedo.philes huh. I think the priest should be hanged
a little context might help you before you start crucifying the priest.
1. It is not even an established fact that the alledge confession took place.
2. Every catholic child who went to catechism knows from abt 5yrs of ages that the priest cannot act on issues he heard during confessions.
3. The girl could have reported the issue to the parents, the priest may have advised the girl to do so.
4. Many atimes confession is made behind a fixed grill, so that the priest does even know the identity of the penitent.
5. It is only prejudice that will make you assume that the priest who you don't know and who wasn't accused of pedophilia is a pedophile.

In essence the kid already knew there was nothing the priest could do with information learned in the confessional, she also knew that such communication cannot to reported to anybody and somehow it is the priests fault.
Christianity Etc › Re: Catholic Priest Could Be Jailed For Refusing To Break Seal Of Confession. by Ubenedictus(op): 10:11pm On Jul 29, 2014
italo: If the Priest divulged the girl's secret earlier, the same parents would sue him for breaking his oath.

Human beings!
i think the girls lawyer are wise in a bad way, the real criminal is dead, the church is the only remaining defendant, then the girl claims he told the priests the issue in the confessional, they know that,

1. The priest under canon law cannot affirm even seeing anybody in the confessional.
2 he can't affirm a confession happened.
3. He can't disclose what happened in the confessional.
4. He can't even defend himself by reporting he prudently advised the lady.
5. The lady is the only person who can relate what happened, and the court will judge the priest silience as admittance of guilt.

The end product is that the priest who probably did his job flawlessly goes to jail and the church pays millions to the family for damage.

So the question remains, does the court have the power to require the priest to talk about an issue that his religious beliefs prohibit him from talking about?
Does the court have power over the church? Does the first amendment hold?

If this case is decided against the priest then all priests in America are in trouble, they will be bundled before court to testify about crimes they heard in the confession.

Christianity Etc › Re: True Story Of The Hail Mary Of A Protestant by Ubenedictus(m): 9:42pm On Jul 29, 2014
italo: It was God that 'invented' all sorts of mediators.

It was God that said to men: "whose sins you forgive is forgiven, and whose sins you retain are tretained."

That is man mediating, as 'invented' by God.

In the book of Revelation, John sees that "the twenty-four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints" (Rev. 5:cool. Thus the saints in heaven offer to God the prayers of the saints on earth.

Angels do the same thing: "[An] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God" (Rev. 8:3–4).

Jesus himself warned us not to offend small children, because their guardian angels have guaranteed intercessory access to the Father: "See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven" (Matt. 18:10).

Because he is the only God-man and the Mediator of the New Covenant, Jesus is the only mediator between man and God (1 Tim. 2:5), but this in no way means we cannot or should not ask our fellow Christians to pray with us and for us (1 Tim. 2:1–4). In particular, we should ask the intercession of those Christians in heaven, who have already had their sanctification completed, for "[t]he prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects" (Jas. 5:16).
it seems God started the ball rolling!

Sorry but the bolded does not make sense.

LIE !

A branch comes from the stem and the stem comes from the root and the root comes from the seed , so that they are all related not by adoption but by natural birth, I mean Jesus Christ in this case was to come from the seed of David not by adoption but by blood relation. To suggest otherwise is bordering on falsehood.

A complete and frabricated LIE !!

"For the Scriptures clearly state that the Messiah will be born of the royal line of David, in Bethlehem, the village where King David was born." - John 7:42

Clearly says that he will be born from the line of David not adopted or raised by someone else.

" Behold, the days are coming," declares the LORD, "When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land" - Jeremiah 23:5

Again , Jesus coming from the seed of David.

"A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit." - Isaiah 11:1

Again clearly establishing that Jesus was to come from the direct blood line of David

Some other easy to understand verse of scripture :

"concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh" - Romans 1:3

The MYTH of half-god and half-man is simply a tale of legend and was borrowed from Pagans with the even more dubious and intentional manipulation of scriptural text to support this LIE.
so your point is that the biological father of Jesus is Joseph and that the gospel of luke is a fraud?

alentyno: You that have been reading it why don't you 'plainly' quote it..... Other than luke 1:28,41 which ironically is half of the full prayer. The second part which says she shud pray for you was simply cooked up by the church and in fact that's the major beef I have with our church leaders. They always invent dogmas out of nowhere (just like the pharisees did in the OT) and impose them on innocent disciples of christ.
The earlier you start asking questions the better for you. Yes I dare not question GOD nor His word (BIBLE) but bro I WILL NEVER EVER SWALLOW MEANINGLESS DOGMAS COOKED UP BY MEN that end up distracting me from what God is actually saying
MY DEAR BRO HALF TRUTH IS DEADLIER THAN IGNORANCE thread wisely. #peace
it seems you are confusing orthodox historic christian teaching with the new age cook-up stuff your pastors teach!

Sorry it is the work of christians to pray for each other, and a good christian should never be ashamed to ask for intercession, this is not cooked up teaching, they have been part of christian doctrine since day one.

Are you suprised?
Christianity Etc › Catholic Priest Could Be Jailed For Refusing To Break Seal Of Confession. by Ubenedictus(op): 8:25pm On Jul 29, 2014
Louisiana’s Supreme Court has ruled that a priest may be compelled to testify as to what he heard in the confessional in 2008
concerning an abuse case.

The priest, Fr Jeff Bayhi, faces automatic excommunication if he breaks the seal of the confessional. But he also could face jail if found to be in contempt of the court should he refuse to testify.

In the case, a girl who was 14 in 2008 said she told her parish priest – Fr Bayhi, parish priest of St John the Baptist Parish in Zachary – in the confessional that she was
abused by a now-dead lay member of the parish.

The girl’s parents sued Fr Bayhi and the Diocese of Baton Rouge for failing to report the abuse. The parents won at the district court level about compelling the priest to testify, but lost in Louisiana’s First Circuit Court of Appeals, before the state’s highest court reversed and vacated the appellate court’s decision.

“As you know, one of the great sacraments of healing in the Church is the sacrament of reconciliation/Confession. It has given hope and comfort to all Catholics throughout the centuries and continues to do so today,” Fr
Bayhi said this week.

“The seal of Confession is one that can never be broken. Through its use the faithful must always be protected, so much so, that as a
priest I cannot even say someone has come to Confession, let alone divulge the contents of what was revealed.”

The Baton Rouge diocese, in its own statement, said the state Supreme Court violated the Establishment Clause of the First
Amendment to the US Constitution in its decision.

“A foundational doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church for thousands of years mandates that the seal of Confession is absolute and inviolable. Pursuant to his oath to the Church, a priest is compelled never to break that seal,” the diocese said. “Neither is
a priest allowed to admit that someone went to confession to him. If necessary, the priest would have to suffer a finding of contempt in a civil court and suffer imprisonment rather than violate his sacred duty and violate the seal of Confession and his duty to the penitent.
“This is not a gray area in the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church. A priest/confessor who violates the seal of Confession incurs an automatic excommunication reserved for forgiveness to the Apostolic See in Vatican City.”

The diocese added: “In this case, the priest acted appropriately and would not testify about the alleged Confessions. Church law
does not allow either the plaintiff [penitent] or anyone else to waive the seal of Confession.
“This matter cuts to the core of the Catholic faith, and for a civil court to inquire as to whether or not a factual situation establishes the sacrament of Confession is a
clear and unfettered violation of the Establishment Clause of the constitution of the United States,” it continued. “This matter is of serious consequence to all religions, not just the Catholic faith. The statutes involved in this matter address ‘sacred communications’ which are confidential and are exempt from mandatory reporting.”

The diocese said: “For a civil court to impinge upon the freedom of religion is a clear violation and the matter will be taken to the highest court in the land by the
Church in order to protect its free exercise of religion.”

There was evolution of consciousness within Iron. This in reality would smitten rocks to dust.

Are you going to tell me pharaoh did not have Iron which he could use against Israel?

This is very simple, Yahweh was with his people on the hill because that is his boundary but he couldnt make it on the plains which the syrian servant confirmed.

Seriously bro, you were shouting on lies.

I read the whole chapter but cant find where it is stated that Israel defeacted syria on the plains.

Though it was revealed that Israel won the fight, but how can we confirm syrian kings yeilded to his servant?

Where did you read in the bible that the battle was had on plains?

Show me pls

Exodus 19

Some people call yourYahweh the God of volcanos. Everything surrounded on mountains. Lol

Stop this crap.

The ancient manuscript do not contain Mark 16:8-12 but almost all bibles today have it. Does that make all bible right?

Mountain can be illustrated as Strenght and fertility. This I am not arguing against.

Yahweh as the Almighy or the Greatest or Supreme is the itch here.

He has ancient ones or elders

he inherited Israel from Most High.

How can this God be the God of all when;

- His name mean God of mountain (metaphor is strenght)?

- He manifest on Hills?

- He is being worshipped on hills?

- Has his church built on rock?

- And a military confirmed he is the God of hills?
it is clear that you have made your own conclusion even against all facts.

I provided passage that show that yahweh is God of all living things, of both the winds, the cloud and the sea. But ofcourse you weren't interested in the truth.

I quoted the passage were it say the king of syria "harkened to his servant" and he lost and ofcourse you claim you didn't see it.

My dear i love a discussion, most times i appreciate a debate. This is simply insincerity to defend your erronous conclusion. You simply decided to ignore every thing else to hold on to your conclusion.

Now i know i wasted my time, have a nice day.
